Yes, but every one of my retirements were when we were in a podium position.

Yeh Macca has been the one i noticed to be most unfortunate when it came to the GP4 gods
Well, two retirements in the last 3 races... The GP4 gods have a strange sense of humor. ;)

Do not worry man it builds tension in fact post a trailer first to build up even more the drama of the race ;)
GPGNC Round 16 China - Race Part 1!

Hello and welcome to our coverage, this time we have moved on from the qualifying to the race. Whilst there is no trailer as previously suggested, we can instead bring you the thrilling conclusion to what yesterday started. Once again here in Shanghai the skies are completely clear and forecasts are saying the weather will be perfectly sunny for the whole race, which the drivers are bound to like! Anyway, there has been enough waiting already, so instead its time for us to get down onto the track!

We go down to the grid now, as Jantsher and Paddock sit eagerly on the front line waiting for those lights...

Whilst at the back, Horvath sits with everybody infront of him hoping he can make it up some places and maybe snatch some points.

1...2...3...4...5... Go! Go! Go! Zakes is instantly on the attack from the start and looking to snatch the lead!

Slightly further down, Maverick has managed the easily slide his way passed Vukcevic into 5th place!

Coming out of turn two and Zakes has been unsuccessful in gaining place. Jantsher still holds the lead, Paddock in 2nd, Zakes 3rd and Hunsley 4th.

Behind them we have cars all over the place! Vukcevic is under attack from a very close Tafuro, and McGregor has Vanthoor for close company.

Antunis, who has plummmeted down from 7th place to 10th manages to fend Razak, but Carreiro isnt so lucky and loses out to Heart into turn 6.

Behind them, its Xanthis, De Boer, Urazel, Stein, Yoshimoto, Ward, Copeman, Horvath has gone up from 22nd to 21st, and Oakley at the back.

We get onto the back straight, and there are attacks everywhere! At the front Paddock makes a challenge for the lead, whilst behind them, Hunsley goes for 3rd place!

Paddock pulls it off, he is now in 1st place, thats a terrific move into the hairpin!

Behind him though its less successful, as both Zakes and Vukcevic hold off attacks from Hunsley and Tafuro respectively.

But Antunis has sqeezed his way nicely passed Vanthoor who runs slightly wide, as Carreiro is stuggling to make his way passed Razak.

Looking at the back half, Xanthis has gone passed Heart, Oakley dumps Hovarth back at the back, and Ward and Yoshimoto are still squabbling.

But Jantsher isnt willing to give up the lead that easily! He is coming back at Paddock into turn 1! Hunsley is also trying to follow his lead behind!

Success for Jantsher as he makes it up the inside well, that too is a terrific move!

Hunsley too finds great success moments later in turn 3, as he has stolen the last podium place from Zakes!

On the back straight once again and we can see all the drivers straight out, except McGregor who is looking for more points passed Tafuro.

Yet he won't have that easily, and they are still side by side heading into the final corner, only room for 1 though!

McGregor makes it through but can he hold it? Maybe not as Tafuro fights back into 1, and Antunis is looking to join the party.

Tafuro gets the place back, good counter attack! Antunis behind him is unable to profit and still sits behind McGregor.

Not for long though! McGregor goes defensive down the back straight, but Antunis goes ultra attacking... and makes it! Up into 8th and some points!

And with that McGregor is left to defend himself from the attacks of Vanthoor, as behind him everyone holds the same position.

Maybe not for long though, as Razak is having to go ultra defensive into turn 11... But that doesn't bother Carreiro who just slides straight on passed as Razak gets a bit deep.

And it isnt log before Vanthoor can launch an attack at McGregor, which he pulls off to perfection into the hairpin

But McGregor definately isnt having any of that, and launches a counter at the next available chance, which he too executes to perfection! Back into 9th, but that leaves Vanthoor well at the mercy of Carreiro...

Carreiro launches an attack in the usual place today, but this time he is unable to make it stick and remains behind the belgium car.

Oh dear chaos behind as Ward, Stein and Urazel try and go into a corner built for 1 car! Stein clips Ward but keeps the car inline, but Urazel can only manage going slightly wide. Ward stays ahead of Stein, but Yoshimoto manages to get the jump on Urazel.

Bit of action at the back, unfortunately for Copeman, as he lunges up the inside of Oakley, where he manages to suceed in gaining a place, but points look rather unlikely today.

Vanthoor in 10th is now having to dance around to keep Carreiro behind him in 11th, as the portugese driver clearly has a quicker car.

Whilst at the front its still very tight, with only the smallest of gaps opening between Jantsher and Paddock, and Hunsley and Zakes.

Ward decides to go on a bit of out of track exploration at turn 1, as he runs rather wide. Luckily considering he was low down already he doesnt lose many places and slots in infront of Copeman near the back.

Antunis is now the man that is going to have a go at Tafuro... and he's done it, infact he didn't need the whole of the back straight to do it, such was the speed advantage.

Ward may have cheated his way out of losing Copemans place earlier, but the american won't leave him in peace quite yet, and steals the place back soon after.

But im afraid we can't give you all the coverage of this race in one go, and now you will have to endure an excellent commercial break, where we try and flog you random products! :)
Be Back soon!

GPGNC Round 16 China - Race Part 2!

After commercial break number 1 (yes im afraid there will be more than just the 1 break), we are back ready for more coverage of round 16 from shanghai international circuit! I think are commentary team are back after that break too so i think we can go down to them now!

You rejoin us as Ward is looking to attack back at Copeman on the move before we left, and they end up side by side into turn 3...

But Ward, for the 2nd time today, can't keep his car on the track, as Copeman going wide forces him in the gravel. Ward now is in plum last, whilst Copeman lets Oakley and Hovarth slip through putting him in 21st.

The top 9 drivers all on 1 straight, demonstrating how close it is up there, Jantsher, Paddock, Hunsley, Zakes, Maverick, Vukcevic, Antunis, Tafuro and McGregor.

Carreiro gets a little bit too over-eager to become man number 10 in that chain, and locks up running straight into the back of Vanthoor, no damage or real time lost for either man.

He isn't the only one with flat spotted tires now though, as Copeman may suffer after locking up into the exact same hairpin.

Looking back at the front, and Jantsher now has a little gap to Paddock, over 1.5 seconds between 1st and 2nd.

Copeman wants more attention though! He drives the car straight on at the last turn and ends up rejoining the track down in last, poor show from the championship contender.

Now its time to give you some standings after 10 laps, with the championship standings looking like this, Swi: 54, SA: 50, USA: 48, Bra: 46, Aut: 46, Ita: 44, Bel: 44, Mad: 44:

Carreiro is still trying very hard to get into the top 10, but its just really not working for him...

Wow that was close! De Boer gets a bit over defensive on Stein down the home straight, and nearly squeezes him onto the grass, forcing the german to pull out heavily!

Stunning angle on Vanthoor and Carreiro as the portugese driver has yet another attempt at the belgian man, but he just can't make it by, regardless of the lap...

At the front again, and Hunsley isnt quite as close to Paddock as he would want to be, but he has Zakes for company.

More laps sees yet more attempts from Carreiro to get passed Vanthoor. Seems to be the only action on track, as though all the drivers are watching along too...

Oh whats this! Paddock runs wide in turn 1, he just loses his concentration and uses the runoff out there!

He's now down the 3rd ahead of Zakes pushing Hunsley up to 2nd! That means the top 3 looks like this in the championship: Swi: 54, SA: 52, USA: 48.

Zakes has a great opportunity to get passed Paddock and into 3rd with that, but a lock up in turn 9 means that a little gap opens up, he's now just as close to Maverick as he is Paddock...

All the commotion behind helps out Jantsher massively, as he now sits in the lead with a comfortable 3 second gap...

McGregor becomes bored of sitting behind Tafuro and manages to charge straight passed him into the hairpin for 7th. He won't like that though, as on 43 points he would be unable to win the championship.

And almost as though i was speaking directly to him, Tafuro gets all punchy and rams it up the inside for turn 1, managing to pull it out the bag for turn 2, very good move!

Is this the attempt to finally get Carreiro passed Vanthoor? As they enter the corner they are side by side, and they are still so as they exit!

Infact they still stick side by side all the way out down the straight and through to turn 5, this is a strong battle, neither want to give!

And Carreiro is still not passed! What will it take for him to make it through! Unbelievable after all that, Vanthoor holds the place still!

But Tafuro cannot do the same, as this time McGregor makes a move stick very well, down at the hairpin as usual.

Pit stops are upon us now, and its Hunsley in from 2nd place to get us underway at window number 1.

Vukcevic and Antunis also come in, and Vukcevic has managed to work himself out a slightly bigger gap after that stop, good work.

But Hunsley has come out right on the tail of Urazel, how much will that cost him time wise?

Paddock comes out the pits... and he's ahead of Hunsley! Great work by team New Zealand to get there man back ahead of Hunsley! Still a small fight as Paddock tries to put Urazel between him and Hunsley, but manages it once his car gets up to speed.

Hunsley looks to set off after Paddock as soon as possible, by getting passed Urazel, but they touch and Hunsley is beginning to slide! Urazel only goes wide and rejoins after Oakley, but Hunsley will have to correct himself from the over enthusiastic move. Disaster!

Hunsley now sits back behind Antunis, but with some cars still to stop, his full loss isnt apparent.

Finally! After 1/3 of the race trying, Team Portugal have managed to pull the rabbit out the hat in the pit stops and got their man out ahead of Vanthoor. Hopefully Carreiro will be able to push on from this.

Paddock looks to lose as little time as possible behind other cars in the pit window and succesfully navigates his way passed a slower Yoshimoto.

As does Maverick to ease passed Ward. The swiss driver has been quiet, but looks on for some solid points in his championship chase...

Perhaps angered by my calling him "slower", Yoshimoto immediately punches back at Paddock to steal that place back from him! Great move!

Ok well now im afraid you will have to enjoy yet another of our commercial breaks, potentially a larger one than the last as the commentry team here attempt to re-energise after a hectic few days, but we will see you soon for the rest of this race!

GPGNC Round 16 China - Race Part 3!

And we are back! After a very "extensive" commercial break, our commentary team have told us they are ready for us to go back to them for more action back on track! The championship at the top is very tight, so every move, every pit stop could well be very crucial here. We are going right down to the track now!

As you left us we were in the pit stop window leaving drivers all of the place, and with Yoshimoto diving up the inside of Paddock to gain the place back. We join now to see that he has cruised passed.

The leader of this race, Jantsher, dives into the pits. His gap was over 3 seconds so it looks like he will have enough to keep that lead of his.

Zakes comes out the pits... and he has jumped over Paddock in the pits! Zakes now sits in 2nd after Paddock was slowed by Yoshimoto, great work by team Madagascar!

Behind them, McGregor rubs salt into the wound for Hunsley as he too comes out the pits infront of the south african after his mistake.

And he's not the only one! Hunsley may be gaining places as others stuff, but he is net losing places as Tafuro has also found his way ahead of him in the stops.

No no no that is not part of the track McGregor! And its turn two where the green car has found himself wide, with Tafuro and Hunsley lurking behind how many places will he lose?

And as it turns out, he's lost no places with that, as he drags the car back on track right infront of Tafuro, doing really well not to cause a collision!

So the pit stops are now complete, with the big movers being, Zakes into 2nd, Maverick into 4th and Hunsley down to 9th. As we bring you the standings the championship looks like this: Swi: 55, USA: 48, Bra: 47, Mad: 47, Aut: 46, Ita: 44, Bel: 44, SA:44, putting Tafuro, Vanthoor and Hunsley out the championship race!:

As Jantsher sets the fastest lap suddenly, Xanthis has the run on De Boer down the back straight... and with such a long run, he manages to steal that place.

Careful careful... Heart locks his wheels up going on the defensive to keep Yoshimoto at back. No problems for either driver though.

Nice camera angle showing that Zakes has pulled out a little bit on Paddock, who has quite a space back to Maverick in 4th.

Whilst at the front Jantsher is simple cruising around with a 5 second lead.

At the moment De Boer only seems to be going backwards... Its Yoshimoto the next one to pass him as he slips him down to 16th place...

Oh dear Heart is going to disintegrate his tires at this rate. He locks up under no pressure into the hairpin, but doesnt loose out.

However one man under pressure is Tafuro as he is having to go very defensive to keep Hunsley out the points.

Vukcevic may soon find himself under the same amount of pressure too, as Antunis seems a lot closer to him than before...

The back of the field is very tightly grouped together, with Copeman unfortunately at the back.

That pressure Vukcevic will soon be under? Well its now, and he manages to go around him and infront of him with a bit of the straight to go, great move into 5th place!

But Vukcevic won't stand for that, and the instant Antunis pulls infront of him, he dives out to retake the position, which he does into the hairpin! Absolutely stunning move from Vukcevic! An instant counter attack to retain his 5th place!

Antunis back on the attack down the back straight, but McGregor has also joined the party and manages to profit down the inside in turn 1! Antunis went on the attack but ended up losing a place instead! He's now down in 7th place

Vukcevic doesnt get any rest though as he now finds himself under attack from the next car behind him, McGregor.

McGregor instantly goes on the attack down the back straight... and he makes it through! He puts himself up to 5th place with that, nice simple move for the australian. Behind them Tafuro having to go slightly defensive on Hunsley, but Hunsley chooses to stay behind.

But Vukcevic isnt going to give up that easily as he attacks back into turn 1, but McGregor has too much pace and manages to fend off the attack.

Tafuro might be defending from Hunsley, but that doesnt stop him attacking at Antunis for more points! The cars are too evenly matched for him to get through though.

McGregor in 5th took a chunk out of Mavericks time in that lap, but he's still over 6 seconds back and Maverick could be safe.

Whilst infront Zakes has gradually cut down Jantsher lead from 5 seconds to 4 seconds, but he needs to do it quicker than that.

But that won't help him at all! Pushing too hard he's gone wide into the last corner, that will cost him a heap of time, but luckily Paddock is way too far back to make up places.

And we have the 2nd and final window of pit stops underway! Hunsley is once again the first man to come in, hoping he can gain some places after the earlier error.

Is that a sign of better things? This time he is out infront of Urazel instead of behind, so could well avoid incident with him this time.

Antunis once again launches and attack on Vukcevic... and makes it! He's up to a net 6th place with that, getting him more points in the championship, very important!

Hunsley is having to compete with some traffic, he really does need this at all, but Oakley goes defensive and Hunsley doesnt go through.

And before the stops are done, Tafuro launches his attack on Vukcevic... And makes it at the hairpin! That gains him the extra point he needs to keep his title hopes alive!

Once again though, Vukcevic isnt ready to let the driver have the position back that easily, and tries to surge up the inside of turn 1. Once again, the driver stays ahead as Tafuro keeps his place.

Annnnd we arent quite ready to show you the final part of the coverage yet, as the drivers havent done it of course ;). But we will be back very shortly of course to provide you with the final part of the coverage of this exciting race!
Back soon!

GPGNC Round 16 China - Race Part 4!

We are back, now for the 4th and final time, to Shanghai international circuit for the final part of this crucial race in the championship season, with only 1 more race to go after this. Whilst it is unlikely to be decided this weekend, major place could be decided, so we wont hold up much longer and instead send you straight back to the track for the race!

As we get back to the track we are in the middle of a crucial pit stops window. After both of them have stopped, McGregor has managed to hold his lead over Antunis in 5th and 6th place.

Oooh thats very close! Vukcevic comes out from his stop, and he is only just infront of Hunsley, he will be under intense pressure now!

Meanwhile Zakes keeps 2nd place over Paddock, with the gap pretty much staying the same as both stop at the first time.

Annnd its Jantsher on a yet to pit Tafuro! The austrian doesnt seem interested in waiting for him to stop, and instead blitzes passed him down the back straight to retake the lead.

For probably the first time today, Vukcevic is having the attack on someone rather than being attacked, as he makes he way nicely passed a yet to pit De Boer.

They like to keep it close at pit stops dont they! Tafuro comes out of the pit lane and finds himself right infront of Vukcevic and Hunsley, so close!

De Boer finally pits, and he too nearly has a collision coming out! Its Oakley that has to keep check on his speed down in 19th place as De Boer comes out just in front.

As we are onboard with Copeman in last place, we see the standings and where he will be in the championship. The standings the same as before: Swi: 55, USA: 48, Bra: 47, Mad: 47, Aut: 46, Ita: 44, Bel: 44, SA: 44.

Zakes sets the fastest lap for Madagascar, as Vukcevic has mirrors full of Hunsley.

But at the front, Jantsher continues to drive his lonely race, as the gap at the front is now getting towards 6 seconds, which surely means he has this?

Urazel disappears out of shot at corner 2, which can only mean 1 thing... he's off track, oh dear... He gets back on behind Ward but infront of Copeman in 21st.

In 2nd place Zakes has Paddock for company, but it looks pretty much like neither are going to be going anywhere fast.

Maverick, who has had a quiet but very solid race, might well be joined by McGregor if hes not careful, as the Australian is catching up with him quick.

Meanwhile Heart gets awefully close to the grass in turn 8. Exploring a new line? I dont think so.

We have a quick check at the back markers, we can see that Horvath has gained a few place from the start of the race, and now sits ahead of De Boer.

Oh whats this? McGregor has slowed and pulled of the track! That is the worst thing that can happen, as he has suffered with a puncture and has to retire! So Unlucky.

And now because of that Hunsley sits in the points and in the championship race, but he's instantly looking for more as he goes on the attack on Vukcevic! Carreiro behind, who has been very quiet has easily flown away from Vanthoor now, and is beginning to tag along to the points group.

And Hunsley makes it passed into 7th before the corner even arrives, simple simple move for him, puts him on 2 points.

Some standings with 10 laps left, and with that, the championship standings have changed. Swi: 55, Usa: 48, Bra: 48, Mad: 47, SA: 46, Ita: 46, Aut: 46, Bel: 44. As it stands, the middle group have bunched up alot, and now Tafuro and Hunsley are back in with a shot of the title, Vanthoor still cant win though.

Vanthoor now faces sitting further back from the points as Xanthis lines up an attack on him for 10th place... and makes it. Not a great result for Vanthoor at all...

De Boer now looks for a minor revival, probably some pride here, as he take Horvath on the back straight in a nice aggressive move.

Under absolutely no pressure at all, Ward just locks up a tire, and will have to cope with those tires for the rest of the race now.

Carreiro is right on the back of Vukcevic now and goes for the attack in the hairpin for a point! Its a bit of a late lunge though, and Vukcevic can defend his 8th place this time.

Hang on... where is Hunsley going? He's gone wide at turn 1! Carreiro sensing a double move here goes on the attack on Vukcevic as both drivers easily slide their way passed Hunsley!

Carreiro makes a great move round the outside stick! He now has gained two places and sits in 7th, with Vukcevic 8th. As it stands, Hunsley needs to overtake Vukcevic to get a point and stay in with a chance of the championship, thats a crucial error from the South African!

4 laps later and with no action to report, Hunsley shows no sign of getting close enough to the montenegro car to take that vital point. Has he given up the chase?

We are with Paddock now, and he has the whole of the start straight to himself. He sits a long way behind Zakes, who in turn is nearly 5 seconds behind Jantsher in 1st.

Final lap now, and Jantsher has gone along the back straight for the last time, he goes round the hairpin for the last time.

And Marko Jantsher wins the Chinese Grand Prix! Very very solid drive for the Austrian, he had to fight off Paddock once, but after that he kept his cool and kept a nice solid gap.

Zakes crosses the line in 2nd place, and a stunning, virtually mistake free drive means that he has leapfrogged Paddock to get 8 points.

Paddock takes the final step on the podium. He could have held 2nd, but 1 mistake threw it away, but compared to his season, 6 points is a good haul.

Behind comes Maverick in 4th, Antunis 5th, Tafuro 6th. All 3 drivers remain in the title hunt, but Maverick will now enjoy a big 7 point gap over 2nd place.

The final points go to Carreiro in 7th and Vukcevic in 8th. Crucially behind them, Hunsley gets no points. Hunsley is out of the title race, game over.

At the back, the drivers arent interested in the fact the race is over, as Urazel looks to gain a pride place passed Oakley now.

They cross the line in an absolute mess at the back, but Urazel takes 19th, Oakley 20th and Copeman 21st. Last but still 2nd in the championship for the american.

Thats it, race over. Congratulations to Marko Jantsher of Austria on his maiden win of the season in a very very solid drive today, very consistent and smooth, kept calm when Paddock attacked.

Crucial news in the title race, both South Africa and Belgium CANNOT win the title, lack of points here means they sit 11 points away.

But there will be full points and results tables after this.

Thank you for watching this coverage, in what is Montenegro TV's last coverage for this season, it has been great fun we can say that, but we will hand over to English TV companies for the final race of the season. Unfortunately this may well be the last time i will provide coverage, EVER, for the GPGNC, so i hope you dont miss me too much ;).

Thank you!

This game is F*cked.

Round 16 China Official Results:

Round 16 China Official Standings:

Just for reconfirmation, South Africa and Belgium now cannot win the championship. As of so far the standings have always been order by points then count-back of results (amount of 1st, then amount of 2nd's etc), meaning that for example if USA and Switzerland finish on equal points, USA would win. A 7 point advantage for Switzerland leaves them needing only 4 points so a 5th place finish to top the championship.

note about Australia: whilst i realise luck hasnt always been best for the Australian team, i would like to assure everyone that perfs and reliability and all values like that have been checked numerous times and so are equal for everyone. We hope that despite the like, Macca will still want to continue next season with whichever naion he chooses.

decent result for montenegro to earn a point means that i guess we are the best of the rest really? We could have hoped for high up but we have done well, now to try and fend off turkey, netherlands and australia...
