I sent 500 for the race, and 500 for quali so looks good

Races: 163 - Wins: 23 - Pole Positions: 24 - Fastest Laps: 22
Season 9: Constructors' Champions
Oh by the way guys, just like the point out in the pause whilst ben runs the race, that there may need to be 2 new RD's rather than 1 next season, as a lack of computer except a laptop means that i wont be able to run any rounds at all, so we/ben is looking for possibly two of you to help him out to run some races. I hope to be involved as much as possible still, i just can't RD anymore. Its been fun none the less ;-)

So here we are, qualifying for the final round of the Nations Cup season 1 at Motegi, Japan. There are 6 men mathematically in with a chance of taking the title on this last weekend but the favourite has to be Maverick for Team Switzerland who has a 7 point lead on the others. Needing to finish 5th or better to take the title without worrying on other results to secure the championship there is still some work to be done.

Without further ado let’s head down to the track for the start of qualifying.
Razak is the first man out on track and sets a 1.26 for a starter. Times are expected to tumble though

Horvath the next man has his moment in the spotlight with a better time than Razak

Heart bests Horvath

However one of our championship contenders Antunis batters those times

Only to see McGregor spoiling his party by a quarter of a second

Second in the championship Copeman slots in behind Antunis on the timesheets

Disappointing for the home man Yoshimoto

And Maverick will have to do better if he wants to take the title himself

Jantsher nicks in ahead of Antunis and Copeman

Hunsely goes very close to taking provisional pole from McGregor

Urazel does better McGregors time as another driver goes into the 1.24’s

Tafuro who has struggled to threaten to touch the podium in the second half of the season is a sluggish 9th so far

With everyone getting on the board early here are the early standings

Maverick is responding much better in his second run

As does Copeman

But both men slip up in the middle sector

Jantsher on the other hand is quicker

There is some squabbling round the track as drivers look for clear air

Maverick does improve to 11th though

Copeman fails to improve his time

We have a new best time for the day so far and it belongs to Vanthoor

Janthser is not showing a time gap but has improved to second. He has done an identical time is why

Yoshimoto improves but only to 19th

Stein still struggling is 20th

So here are your standings with almost everyone having done a second run

Confirmation of Jantsher equalling Vanthoor

Heart’s long season is looking to come to an unspectacular end

Every lap counts for Maverick and the traffic has hindered this one

Vanthoor has gone much quicker in the first sector though

Copeman still showing strong first sectors

Even Urazel trying to recapture provisional pole

As is McGregor

Carreiro moves up to 12th

Vanthoor has lost everything he gained in the first

Copeman clinging on

As is Urazel but McGregor is still flying

Vanthoor does not improve in the end

Bad news for Maverick, Copeman goes 3rd

Urazel takes that away by just 2 thousands of a second

McGregor retakes pole in style

Another championship contender Jantsher climbs onto the front row

Tafuro improves but its only 15th he is seeing his championship challenge fade on Saturday

Zakes also struggling is only 10th

McGregor is on his last run but he cannot improve with the traffic in front

This is a problem for McGregor as Jantsher goes fastest in the first

Not in the second though he has let it slip

And McGregor does indeed fail to improve is Jantsher going to steal this one

Maverick first though and comes through and improves to 10th. He leaves himself with some work to do tomorrow

The Answer is no McGregor clings on

Yoshimoto is still languishing down in last place

Paddock improves to 7th

Tafuro cannot improve on his last go

Neither does Zakes seeing both men most likely out of the running for the title

These are the standings with just three men left to go

Ward is not threatening and has suffered a really bland day

Carreiro showing promise to make his way up the grid

Ward does not improve on his own time with his last run

Two left, one has the crowd behind him but just nothing doing in the first sector

Carreiro improves to 11th

Groans for the home fans as Yoshimoto fails to improve and will start from dead last

So here are the final standings

Well done to McGregor showing some real pace to take pole. Will be hoping for some luck that has deserted him throughout the season. Only Jantsher of the contenders has a real chance to win and maybe take the title from Maverick. Copeman and Maverick will have some work to do but it is fair to say barring a miracle that Zakes, Tafuro or Antunis can win the title anymore

As for my championship i will say thats me done and dusted unless a miracle happens.

Sidenote: Sorry for the big delay. I did run both quali and race but with the wrong perf much to my shagrin as i would of won the title hot The race will be up tomorrow as i have had today and tomorrow off :)
AUSTRALIA

That lap was just to prove how fast our car really is and to show that this title should have been rightfully ours.

New Zealand

Very pleased to get 7th on the grid, hoping for some more nice points in the race, its still possible that we can jump Japan in the championship which would be great

There are a couple of championship contenders ahead of us on the grid, but that is not going to change the way we race here

Races: 163 - Wins: 23 - Pole Positions: 24 - Fastest Laps: 22
Season 9: Constructors' Champions
10th is alright i guess as it see's some of the bigger drivers behind me. Hopefully i can grab some points but im not going to raise my hopes too high for this final race, im just hoping to finish as high as possible.

I think I'm going to need a miracle to win the championship now...I need to win at least, and I don't think that is going to happen starting from 5th...oh well...I'll keep trying. It's been a cracking first season!

GPGSL - Christel VXR team Boss S6-S8, S12 Onwards

for the last round, it was one of my best qualifying performance so far.
4th place seems very good position to fight for the podium.
I'm only in an internet café but I don't wanna miss my chance to say something to the qualifying. Of course 12th doesn't give me a good chance for points at all...and I have the fear that my championship hopes are running away more and more. Somehow I get the feeling that maybe Austria could be the big winner of this last round. And...never under-estimate the US team. Being 5th they have a big chance to beat me, at least, if I don't get any points.

Somehow I thought about this all a bit differently ;-)

Welcome back to Japan for the grand finale of the first season of the Nations Cup. Qualifying has seen Italy, Madagascar needing to provide something special today for the title. Maverick has some work to do as well but is still in the driving seat and a strong race should see Switzerland winning it.

Provisional Championship standings at start:
Maverick 55
Jantsher 54
Copeman 52

Will McGregor be able to turn pole into a victory?
Well down to the start where everyone is ready to go

They are off and Vanthoor trying to go between McGregor and Jantsher

But Jantsher has the inside line and holds second while Copeman tries to go round the outside

De Boer holds off Antunis for 8th

No ground gained by Maverick, Zakes or Tafuro

Antunis tries and succeeds on the inside of De Boer

Carreiro had the inside line down into turn three and passes Maverick

McGregor still leads

Maverick is alongside Carreiro and Vukcevic they are three abreast

Maverick looks to have the both men on the inside

Vukcevic just clips Maverick’s wheel and sends him into the air!

He hits the wall and looses the wheel and the championship leader is out the race!

Just behind them in the commotion to slow down Ward is pointing upwards but is ok

All eyes on Jantsher now he is close to McGregor and he needs to win the race to take the title

Vukcevic finds himself behind Oakley

Standings after that first lap

Vukcevic has passed Oakley somewhere

There it is on replay he ran wide allowing Vukcevic through

Antunis has gone slow into that corner

And DeBoer drives straight past him

Jantsher is right on the back of McGregor

Zakes has crept onto the back of the Antunis- De Boer battle as De Boer runs wide

What is this Jantsher has pulled out the slipstream of McGregor

He has outbraked him

And takes the lead and provisional lead of the championship

Tafuro struggling down the field today but has a chance to pass Razak

And succeeds up the inside

Yoshimoto has had a real promising start for the home crowd and takes Razak on the following straight

McGregor lunges from very deep

And they nearly touch

McGregor is alongside around the outside

And Jantsher calmly forces McGregor wide and keeps the lead

Antunis under pressure from Zakes

But outbrakes him and does just enough to keep hold of the place

Vukcevic has caught back up to Carreiro after the lap 1 incident

He makes the pass on the inside

Carreiro tries to respond

He has a better drive out of the corner and goes around the outside

Standings with 5 laps passed

Zakes still tirelessly trying to pass Antunis but really they are hindering eachother

The gap coming down a little as well for Carreiro to the squabbling pair

Paddock is very close to Copeman and keeping him on his toes

Ward passes Heart and that moves him out of last place

Vanthoor has a poor run out of the corner being so close to McGregor

Urazel now has a chance and takes the Belgian comfortably for third place

Antunis has cracked under the pressure he has suffered today and runs wide

He hits the barrier and that is another championship contender out of the running

Under yellows and having to suddenly stop a passing attempt both Horvath and Stein run wide at the same corner

They rejoin in the last two places

McGregor’s turn to be in the slipstream of Jantsher

Not close enough though

Copeman has run wide at the final chicane

Slides right across Paddock and spins

He gets going again in 10th place

Vanthoor is trying to get back at Urazel

Paddock has clear air now

And Zakes is right on the back of De Boer and is working his way back into the championship picture

Vanthoor is trying too hard and that leads to him running wide at turn 1

He rejoins ahead of Paddock

Paddock however takes on the now cagey Vanthoor

And makes his way through, good awareness by Paddock

Standings with 10 laps place

Just as we check the standings Jantsher locks up

McGregor can only go around the outside and he only goes and does

Urazel also fancies a go and succeeds as well delight for Maverick in his motor home I am sure

Zakes desperate to get past De Boer and is scouting his man

Urazel has locked up in a big way and is off into the gravel

Rejoins in 5th place and that bumps Jantsher back to second

Jantsher means business today he is less than a half second from McGregor

Copeman is closing back in on Vukcevic as well

McGregor has to go slightly defensive

Off camera Urazel must of run wide again as he is now down to 8th

Vukcevic is slow out of the corner and Copeman uses the extra drive to pass him down the straight

Paddock has done what Copeman did and Vanthoor narrowly misses him

And just like Copeman he rejoins in 10th place

Zakes has moved up to 5th now and if he can shift De Boer is really in with a chance of the title

Jantsher with a big dive up the inside for the lead

Not this time, bit more patience required

Yoshimoto has quietly found his way into 12th place

Quarter of the race done and it is time for a break

When and how the hell did I retire?!?!?!?! One minute I was sixth and then in the next set of standings I'm out of the race :S

What a shame. It's always a pity to lose a title because of somebody else not paying attention. I was through and there was actually no need for Vukcevic to steer in that hard. Well, as I most likely won't be able to see the final results today, I already congratulate the championship winner.
