There's plenty of us :P

I have that and other songs (from the Who I also have Pinball Wizard) set to play when I load rFactor and GTR 2. It's a whole new experience, just right before racing.

Tony, you surprised us recently with news and updates of upcoming new mods which are very promising, but it seems that the '79 mod is somewhat forgotten.

Hopefully this mod has still some priority in a near future.

1979 is still very much in my mind. I think there should be some news about it sometime this year.
I will probably repaint and re work alot of the cars, add some modern CSM features, hopefully a few tracks, but what other fixes/updates are wanted?
Feedback is always the best way to get things moving :)

New liveries on all cars. Some are lacking or not done at all...

Aren't the backmarkers in the beta mod? Kauhsen (1 DNQ) and Ensign are missing I think.

@Tim - can you be more specific? I think one Renault had no textures, but how are the others lacking? I'm planning on re painting most of them from scratch, so any feedback is good :)

How are the physics/perfs/sounds in the beta?

OK Tony ;)
Here is some notes by me:
-some texture are missing/not correct (renault, rebaque,...)
-some cars missing (fittipaldi (not sure wich version, F5A?), kauhsen
WK004/WK005, alfa 177, ensige N177/N179 and maybe some other variations of other teams)
-some tweaking (remember that lotus at one or more tracks have wrong helmet position)
-tracks :D (but that is well known issue in GP4)

I think that beta have some others bugs but cant remember all. I play it for long time. But for beta it was good and enjoyable ;)

Anyway, I have one sugestion; Maybe few wheels/rims can be includes in mod (if it is not too big job to make them) or when one team is selected that all teams have wheels like selected team/car (something like steering wheel in some mods).

Hope that final product will follow your previous mods, but I have no doubts about that ;)

Good luck mate

What sort of wheel/rims? We have some new ones from Ulf and they look pretty good. How many different ones would be needed?
I think I have an Ensign here. Merzario is missing. I doubt the 177 or Kauhsen will be made - they raced once, and the WK at least didn't get near to qualifying.

stipe got most of it right Tony. I knew the early spec Renault, the Fittipaldi, and the Rebaque needed work for certain. I think that both versions of the Fittipaldi need a little attention.

Aside from the circuits (wich we would all love) this mod needs some really bad ass sounds. Those Ford Cosworths and Ferrari V-12's all sound like mopeds right now. I mixed and matched some different engine sounds for my own use and they are a definite improvement, but someone who knows what they are doing could really make big improvements in this area...

I seek the maxim of images of the season 1979.
If it is going to redo all the paintings is an immense work.
They are many cars.
They changed constantly from structure and painting.
I am going to try to seek more images for contribute in the development of this MOD.

Didn't the Lotus 80 race? I dunno whether it's in the mod or not...

Yep the Lotus 80 is in the mod - in 3 races I think.

Thanks celinho - for the pics, and the enthusiasm :)

Dijon is in work, and I'd like to think we'll have a go at a few other tracks too. And turbo lover is working on a couple so it looks promising
Tim, can you send me your sounds? The sounds do need a lot of work so hopefully we can come up with something good - and car specific.
