Hello....Thank You for this beautiful 1979 beta, really beautiful work. I guess I could report a beta bug here? When using high car textures from configuration menu, Rene Arnoux's renault has many missing textures, car is transparent. It's fine in standard.
Also, the front wheels seem to be static, not rotating, regardless of the graphics cfg setting, rears are fine, in car view is fine.
Thanks again for your hard work, this mod is going to be awesum when released.

thanks :)

i think that renault bug is known. which tracks does it happen at? and missing textures meaning the car is white? or car parts are missing? ascreenshot might help, but i'm sure shutt1e has fixed this.

i'll update the buglist soon, and an update should be out within week or so

Missing textures meaning car parts are missing. I played around with it and the problem crops up when any high textures are selected in configuration...tires, helmet or car...For sure it's happening at Hockenheim, Monza and Montreal...I don't think it matters but I'll keep testing....That's why it's a beta..right?
It's still a GREAT mod...hats off to you and your team.

yeah, already fixed. it was caused by reordering parts in 3deditor. a carshape saved by 3deditor cause sometimes corrupted textures, dunno why, usually i reorder parts in 3de then reopen the file in zmod making texture reassignements, this fix the problem.i forgot to reopen the monza renault shape so here is the bug.it appears on all track using the monza version of the re11

about the front wheels. it seem gp4 doesn't like the 4 spokes 3d wheel design.the wheel spin as usual but visually it seem not spinning. the problem disappear using a 5 spokes wheel.will be fixed soon.

This was briefly mentioned before, but when I try a 100% race my tires wear out after around 30 laps and I cant compete with the other cars without having to make a pit stop and get new tires. It doesnt seem as though the computer cars suffer this problem? Will this be adressed?

Works very good for me. I did a 15% race in France with Alan Jones and one with Patrese in Malaysia.
The performance is very good (more exciting playing with this mod than theoriginal ;) ).

I suggest that the AI cars are made more aggressive in the sense that they are actually attempting to overtake.

A bug I found is that when I had a collision I easily have a damage and I must go to the pits, while those cars where much more resistant to the collisions than the current ones. I complain with this because cars of the past were harder to break!

having lot of fun making a championship with Jabouille's Renault.
A suggestion: check out that the gloves of the drivers were orange at the time. Is it possible to make the drivers gloves of that color in the mod? Will seem way realistic

Also, are there any plans to add a driveable Wolf to the car set? I would like to give James Hunt's car a go if possible....

any car in the carset is driveable.just you need to choose the correct backmarkers set. to be honest i've never tried to drive the wolf but if it don't work is due a bug.
there are some fixes ready for the 79mod but dunno when Tony can make a cmu including these fixes and other for the carset.

For information about 1979 tracks:

-Look for a video called F1 1979 Season Review on the EDonkey network.
-Go to www.silhouet.com/motorsport/ to find trackmaps.
-Do a search for "Villeneuve Arnoux" on the EDonkey network to download a video of Dijon.
-For Monaco, search for "Senna Monaco 1986". I don't think the track has changed much between 1979 and 1986.

>>send me your Dijon
>>when its ready Tom ;-)

Actually Dijon was my second or third attempt at trackmaking. I used it as a testing ground for experiments with elevation data (I made a roller-coaster out of it). It's always been one of my favourite tracks along with Paul Ricard, Phoenix and Zandvoort. When I become an experienced trackmaker it will be N°2 or 3 on my priority list. :-)

b-tone i am willing to do interlagos 1979 if you want the dat doesnt look to hard.....and if i can get the gp4 into zmod then it shouldnt be overly challenging

the only problem would be the 1500 sector limit as the tracks looks like it would take up near 2500 - 3000 sectors
