Do the number of sectors really count? I've seen screens from someone who has a nordschleife circuit ingame...

that would be tom....and its a mini "ring" because the one he created would be not much longer than spa....so yes sectors count.

b-tone i had a long beach with dat and some building in place this morning then 3DEditor went kapuut with atigolxx[?].dll and i lost it grrrrrrrr so pissed off.

>>I've seen screens from someone

Yeah, that was me. But as Mini said it's just a Mini Ring. Not very accurate except for the most famous corners.

>>Do the number of sectors really count?

A little.

For example my Dijon track is about 690 sectors long.
The real Dijon should be about 740 sectors.

The difference is barely noticeable in-game.

It's not much of an issue, but if you try to recreate a 2000 sectors track with only 1500 sectors, you will notice some serious scale issues.

thats a shame mini :( (although from memory there is a 'save' button hidden in the menus somewhere isnt there :P)

@Tom - lovely work :)
feel free to send them over ;-) to keep the download times low, if we include tracks i think they'll be very simple - ie just the dat and 3d conversion. the main idea being to get the layouts. the pretty stuff can come later.
so if you have some 79 tracks that work then we'd be glad to include them.
and there'll be an option to use default tracks or the possibly buggy newer ones, so even if your tracks arent so stable i'm sure some (me for insatnce :p) would appreciate them

for the record paolo was working on hockenheim, and i started ostereichring a while ago.

Another question on the Wolf car. It is indeed selectable, and I enjoy taking it out on the track, it's a sharp looking car! But is there a way to select James Hunt as the driver? I know he walked out halfway through 79, but I've tried several circuits and I always get Rosberg and Rebaque as driver choices, never Hunt?

Is he selectable as a driver only on a specific circuit?

That Warsteiner Arrows is one of the sharpest looking F1 cars I've ever seen! One of my all time favorites!

I am with mod of 79 twirling that it is a beauty, but the only problem, is that the wheels do not turn. It seems that it has that to move in the archive f1graphics and to activate the option 3d for the wheels. But my problem is that I already looked for and I did not find nothing similar. Somebody can help to say me with is written or in which line it is. Debtor.

you have to take your f1graphics.cfg (look in the gp4 installation folder) and copy it in the data\files folder of the 79 mod, allow to overwrite the file present.
then edit it (it is a text file) look for:

0 rotate wheels by textures (maybe you have 1 at the start of the line)

then save it.
Start the game and take a look at the graphics options, remember that this mod only allow the hires textures so set the advanced options to manual and choose "high" on all graphics related options below.
