GPGSL S8 Round 14 -Monaco Grand Prix - The RD's Short Straw >> SHOCKING NEWS AT PAGE 204!!! <<

Posted by GPGSL
I put LeMans Petite Sarthe and LeMans Bugatti together, and didn't bother to put away the Bugatti, since the track, even if put together, did not get enough votes to be relevant.

I've just thought of something, who's doing the activity checks now?

Oh yeah Jack. Good point. It's not urgent yet since the season hasn't started, but we will have to find somebody new for this. I'd say, the person who asks first does it ;)

A nasty disease.

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
Hmm, it feels like I've wasted my votes. I'm surprised that Monaco managed to get in the calendar, and also that tracks that don't exist for gp4 have been voted.

Which Imola layout will be used?

Hang on, where and when was this poll run!? I never saw anything!?

edit, damn, that voting system was very easily missable. What a shame!

Boromo does look good - it gets my vote for sure.

We should have all got together and made a calendar based on previous exciting races, and eliminate processional tracks like Monaco, regardless of how prestigious it is.

It was announced in the old S7 thread already a while ago and votes were sent in via PM to the GPGSL account.

And concerning Imola, nobody especially voted for the new layout. Some people didn't specify and most voted for the '91 layout. So I assume that one will be used.

Interesting track vote results, some decent tracks in there especially nordschleife and adelaide. Bit dissapointed on some of the tracks that missed out, would have been nice to see some different tracks in there... but i don't envy whoever has to run monaco, if anyone wants to bore themselves for a while, do volunteer ;)

But can we at least send money/casino-themed helmets? :-)

Provided I've got the time, I'll provisionally take one for the team...

(I won't mind if the race is wet...)

I just hope that whoever creates the calender now shows some sense for realism and won't let us fly from Melbourne to Indianapolis and back to Adelaide!

Seriously guys, who voted for these tracks, Monaco, A1 Ring and Adelaide are all awful ingame

I don't see why a short list hasn't be created whereby quality tracks are kept in each year with say 3 tracks that go up for selection to be included for the following season

I know we have the 7 or so classic tracks that stay which I fully commend but hell... These track choices are simply shite

Basically we all we have to look forward to is watching Aston win race after race at boring tracks where we get no passing

I'm actually going to go on record and say that MPR formally protest the calendar for this season, for all the good it will do

Races: 163 - Wins: 23 - Pole Positions: 24 - Fastest Laps: 22
Season 9: Constructors' Champions
If anything, this season's calendar could well play into MPR's hands due to the fact quali will now be a little bit more random. If we were at circuits where overtaking was easy for every race then the Astons would most probably always come to the front.

But that isn't the point mate, I want this league to be exciting for all of its members, both old and new

Something which it has actually done very successfully up till now

Personally tracks that produce boring races are just a massive turn off to me and undermine any interest that I have to continue in the series

I mean just look at the GPG Nations Cup, a very well run series, with a fantastic mod built by Ruben and great coverage by Tobi, but the first race was run at a dull track... It just undermines all that work if the races are dull from a spectators point of view

Remember I just have the best interests of the league in mind when I make these comments

Races: 163 - Wins: 23 - Pole Positions: 24 - Fastest Laps: 22
Season 9: Constructors' Champions
Sorry, I didn't mean you only had your own interests in mind when making your comments. I do pretty much agree with you that the collective circuit choice is a poor one, but look at it this way. Last season and the season before were a bit like F1 2011. Good races but a crap championship battle. Maybe with tracks that are harder to overtake on, the racing won't be so good, but the order will be mixed up a bit more and produce a great championship battle, a bit like F1 2010.

Yep, directing Oran Park was veeery boring.
