It looks like Massa is testing a new helmet, but I could be wrong.

I think it is the same design, but he has a special layer on it. If it's cold this layer changes to black and keep the helmet warmer, but if the weather is better it disappears and you can see the original paintjob. Rubens and Nick used such a helmet before as well...

Got to say, the new McLaren really looks sexy, and that extra length just adds to its looks.
Not liking the sidepods on that Ferrari so much though, looks like the worst bits of the sidepods on the F399 and the F2003-GA all in one :/

very odd, how does it work? (beyond just changing color) it is not exactly cold in those helmets! :)

Hamilton did impressive 26 laps stint times between low 1,12 and low 1,13 (1,12,3 was done his 3rd lap of this stint). Massa's 1,11,7 was done with lighter fuel load as he now is doing 1,16s with heavy fuel load.rumours from santander that alonso will come to take felipe's place and drive today after all (thanks to santander again) :)

Day 2 Times:

Pos Driver Team Time Laps
1. Massa Ferrari 1:11.722 124
2. Kobayashi BMW Sauber-Ferrari 1:12.056 96
3. Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes 1:12.256 108
4. Kubica Renault 1:12.426 119
5. Rosberg Mercedes GP 1:12.899 119
6. Barrichello Williams-Cosworth 1:13.377 102
7. Buemi Toro Rosso-Ferrari 1:13.823 107

Its obviously hard to judge too much from this, but one thing that has been good is reliability.

Very hard to judge due to fuel loads.

Seeing that Lewis done his lap on a 26 lap run that must fuel corrected make him the fastest?

Nobody commented it but it seems Cosworth is having problems... those engines are from 8 to 12 km/h beyond its rivals...

Massa and Rosberg made long runs as well, and their best laps were only 1:16... In my humble opinion Lewis run that 26 lap with the same fuel load that he used to have in 2009 at race start. In this case they could campare the aerodynamical performance of the MP4-25 to the MP4-24 in between same circumstances. Perhaps he hadn't much than 2-3 laps more fuel in his car when he finished the 26 lap run... We don't know... So technically we can't say anything about the results. That's why I hate testing... :)

hard to say really, Kobayashi did 1,12,6 on 30 laps stint. I don't know about Massa's stint but TurunSanomat reports from the test that it's difficult to judge because no one know fuel loads but ferrari seems to be a bit ahead of McLaren and Mercedes. TS also reports that rumours are that Adrian Newey's RB6 will be something special that no other car looks same with :)
