2008 review F1 DVD released on Dec 1st (updated with my review of ...F1 review)

Posted by BAR#10
This one should be great, hopefully Ben Edward provides the commentary again.
I have the 2007 and 2006 and 2000 ones. The first two are good, however 2000 is just one big confusing mess, with boring commentator.
Can anyone tell me if 2005, 2004, 2003 are worth buying?
Is Ben Edwards on it as well?

Anyway here's the 2008 Extra features according to Amazon, apparently it's a double disc. I don't know why they don't include one whole race as a bonus, they've got the their own play by play team for the live in cinema feed anyway.

'The Return Of Ross Brawn'
'Season Preview'
'The New Force From India'
'Living The Dream With Sebastien Bourdais'
'Fernando's Photo Memories'
'Lewis Goes Back To The Future'

I have the same as you, but also 2005. From what I remember, the review itself is just as good as the others, but there are less features on it.

Looking forward to getting the 2008 review as a christmas pressie, like every year since 05 :)

Find the 1982, 1984, 1986 and 1987 ones. They're a good laugh. :)

I'm trying to figure out who the commentators are on the 1994 and 1995 ones, and the 1998/1999/2000 reviews. There's next to no information on the net, which is surprising.

someone called Bob Constanduros did some commentaries for the review tapes, he might be the one on those you mentioned Turkey.

i have all the reviews from '86 or '87 i think, all tapes till the DVD versions from '03 to present.

Bob did 1989. He's not the one I'm after. Andy Smith did 1990 and 1991. David Sargent did 1996 and 1997, but I've got no idea who did '94, 95, 98, 99 and 2000.

EDIT: This is the list I got that I made up a couple months ago when I went on a hunt for FIA Reviews on the net.

1981: From Start To Finish :- Simon Taylor
1982: "A Single Win Is Enough" :- Clive James
1983: "Piquet vs Prost" :- Brian Kreiskey & Barbara Rosenblat (avoid at all costs)
1984: Two Till The End :- Clive James
1985: Deservedly Prost :- Simon Taylor & The Drivers Themselves (Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell, Nelson Piquet, Keke Rosberg, Ayrton Senna, Stefan Johansson amongst others)
1986: All Over Down Under :- Clive James
1987: A Painless Half-Nelson :- Peter Ustinov & Simon Taylor
1988: Honda...All Fired Up :- Tony Jardine & Stirling Moss
1989: How to Win a Championship :- Bob Constanduros & Tony Jardine
1990: 78/71...A Clear Decision :- Matthew Lorenzo & Tony Jardine
1991: Nearly Mansell! :- Andy Smith & Simon Taylor
1992: 9 out of 16 - 'Well Done, Nigel' :- Steve Rider & Simon Taylor
1993: Senna Fights Back :- Jonathon Ross
1994: Who Else But Schumacher! :- ??
1995: He Did It His Way :- ??
1996: A Champion And A Gentleman :- David Sargent & Simon Taylor
1997: Down To The Last 30 Minutes! :- David Sargent
1998: Flying Finn First At Finish :- ??
1999: The Champion On The Track :- ??
2000: They've Done It At Last :- ??
2001: What A Class Act! :- ??
2002: Michael's Record Year! :- ??
2003: Michael & Co. The Dream Team :- Ben Edwards
2004: Michael Does It Again! :- Ben Edwards
2005: Fantastic Fernando! :- Ben Edwards
2006: Once Again! :- Ben Edwards
2007: Kimi Made It At Last! :- Ben Edward

I'm missing 3 out of that lot: 1981, 2002 and 2007, the latter I can find on RU.

I've got 96,97,99,02,03,05,07.

Really want to get them all from 94 onwards - they are just so damn pricey. Usually around $40 bux, unless you are lucky (I picked up the 07 review for $12 last month)

The only thing I didnt like last year was the qualy lap - they should've had every team, not just a few - and please dnt let Massa commentate, he is boring as hell!

2013 - Nando must come through..

2007 is really good and very cheap now via Amazon. From £19.99 before to £3.97:-o Not counting cost for delivery though, I think.

And to think I paid more or less full price - can't recall if there was percentage off exactly - a year ago;D

@Schueyfan, yeah, I think it is.

I've got all the Duke ones, generally they're very good, I would recommend any of the ones with Clive James presenting, brilliant stuff.

I've also got two of the Brunswik DVDs, 1980 and 1970, and they're both pretty poor, races missing and really hard to follow whats going on.

Looking forward to this one, hopefully if its a double disk they split the season over two disks, the quality on last years seemed low with it all crammed into 1 dvd

I work in HMV so I can tell you this easily! It's simply because we have different suppliers for certain products. Sometimes we get it in at dirt cheap prices but the minute the cheapest ones are gone we have to put the full price ones back up on the shelf. We can't change the price as the company loses money through supplier costs if we do that so we have to sell it at the price we got it for.

In other words, it's stupid yet must be done that way.
