100% agree! what a thoroughly nice bloke, with a lot of humility and dignity.

Button deseredly won imho, more victorys than anyone else, enough said.

Nice guy won again, far more deserving than Raikkonen in my view.
I would be glad to actually see the back of the miserable sod and give a new driver a shot at the bigtime, that would be glad of the privilidge instead of walking around with a face like a slapped arse.

Everything appearing to be too much trouble for him.

He's the type of driver we all want to be. A driver who just does the driving without any of the PR crap that goes alongside it. OK, it's part of the package, but I don't see why it should be held against him that he wants to just be an old fashioned racing driver. He doesn't want to be an entertainer, he just wants to race. If you were an F1 driver, I'm sure that's the way you'd want it to be too.

Agreed 100%!
Raikkonen has the personality of a gnat. He might well be a great driver and deserving of The Iceman title, but he really needs to work on how he comes across in interviews. Maybe the way he is, is endemic to his part of the world, where he comes from, reserved, mumbles, looks evasive etc. but you'd think his PR people would have done something about it by now. If he goes, I for one won't care, I'd much rather see a driver with a bit of charisma, someone who adds something to the sport. Watching Kimi in the press room after a race is almost agonizing. :-)

That might have been acceptable years ago, Smacks of spoilt behaviour to be honest.

PR is a requirement, it helps pay his frankly ridiculous wages, at least look like your happy whilst doing it.

Going through the motions for the sake of it, why bother?

Massa owned him last year, his stock has gone down as far as i'm concerned, seems to have lost interest in F1 and only came to life when it was apparent his future was in doubt with Alonso partnering Massa.

Come in Kimi, your time is up.

Yeah, he drove for 90 minutes on Sunday with fuel burning his eyes, and was happy to keep on it as soon as he could see where he was going again. Must be time for him to give up, eh? Because that's exactly what spoilt, unmotivated drivers do.

+1. Rubens showed he's a good loser, and a good man.

Does the Kimi Christmas message from McLaren bring memories? ;)

or people driving for their future in F1, kimi isnt the same driver he was since he was at Mclaren, wether thats down to being a world champ now i dont know, winning it you would assume would make drivers strive to taste that success once again.

The likes of Hamilton and Button have said they want to win it again, Kimi seems more interested in Rallying gathering by the smiles on his face after his last dabble at it, must admit that was the only time in recent years i have actually seem him really happy, but i guess the pay isnt as good in rallying as it is in F1, so maybe he wants to boost the coffers before he makes the switch.

If he goes to Toyota, then that will be more about the $$$$ than personal ambition.

You do have a good point there, Kimi's form, or relative lack of, after he won the 2007 title was odd. Normally you expect a driver to be stronger and better after he's won a title, whereas Kimi seemed to lose focus.
The situation with him at Ferrari just seemed to stagnate after he won the Championship.
I think a move to another team would give him new goals and would fire him up more than a move to WRC would.

I hate people who aren't themself, changing his personality to make the sponsors more happy would be agonizing, he would be 12 in a dozen driver if that would happen. Lack of personallity is also a personality really. Also Kimi does care, Finns don't really express themself, I've done quite abit of sim racing with Finns, they all sound desinterested, but they actually do, that they don't show it doesn't mean they don't.

Thats quite a generalisation, his nationality has nothing to do with it, Mika used to laugh and joke around, and had a great sense of humour. Heikki is always smiling and seems to have have fun.

I think the point is he looks uninterested in everything he does, as if his hearts not in it anymore, if he doesnt have the ambition and personal drive to be in F1 and its all about money over ambition, then whats the point, but then again i guess you have Eddie Irvine :)

Kimi is awesome. The fact he doesn't give a crap is awesome. He is a throw back to the 70s when drivers were rock stars as well as racing drivers. It'll be a loss to F1 when he does finally leave.

i get the impression that he's only like that in front of the media.

I think he just enjoys winding the press up.
Martin Brundle said he isn't good with the public and the exposure. He clams up with the media and with strangers. But among friends and people he is comfortable with he is a party animal. We all know he likes to drink and party, and we all know he likes to drive what he wants when he wants - snowmobiles and rally cars being the most popular ones.

I think the point is he looks uninterested in everything he does,

He looks uninterested to you, so therefore he is uninterested. Bad logic is bad. He already has stated he has the choice to leave F1 and peruse other motorsports if he wanted. There is no financial gain from entering local snowmobile events, so why would he do those if it is all about money?

He is having a dry spell. Lots of drivers do. Rubens had a few and he challenged for the title. Button had a couple of horrific years, and he has eventually come out world champion. To suggest Kimi is no longer worthy of a place in F1 because of a bad spell, incidently after one of the best races he's done in a long time, is ridiculous. And don't say "driving for his F1 career". If his F1 career mattered that much he wouldn't be out rallying and what-not.

Kimi does what he enjoys, nothing more, nothing less.

Brilliantly said.

It was kimi's great attitide that allowed him to win the title in 2007.

He made out he did not care, after all he had nothing to lose. He let Alonso, Lewis and Mclaren do all the talking and just got on with the job.

Kimi this year from Hungry is driving like the kimi of old, he is one of my drivers of the year thats for sure.
