Worst world champion since Damon Hill
Norbert Haug points out the spookiness:
“So here are some unusual statistics to enjoy: for the second year in a row, car number 22, driven by an Englishman and powered by a Mercedes-Benz engine has finished fifth in Brazil to win the world championship – what an amazing list of coincidences!

It certainly is major coincidence, and I thought about it myself after Rubens' puncture elevated Jenson into 5th. I realised all of those except the Mercedes bit - that certainly wouldn't escape Norbert of course. :P

@Monza, thanks for that. All I caught was the very tail end of someone having a huge off, and then Martin saying that Kobayashi was bound to get a penalty for what had happened.

Yeah gotta agree with that. It was the same way that Hamilton won it too bar a few details that is
No Penalties for Trulli, Sutil or Kovalinen!

Well done FIA! Ari can't come soon enough!
Trulli was fined $10000 and mclaren $50000 for unsafe release.

Amen to that. Awesome race, brilliant championship overall.

I know we haven't had Abu Dhabi yet, but when was the last year in F1 where we didn't have any roll-overs?
Also what Webber and Kobayashi did to block Kimi and Nakajima was wrong, I don't understand why they didn't get any warning or penalty from what they did :s question is how are u ever going to see more overtaking if u can block like that? and here is a pic showing Webber clearly pushed Kimi out of the track!:

Anyway happy for his win, he is still one of my favourite drivers.

Good point :(
Meh, as much as I don't like to admit, Button did deserve the title. There were times during the season that I wondered whether Barrichello wanted to be champion or not, considering his drives. Not to talk about his start problems three or four times during the season, which costed him precious points.

Button, on the other hand, looked to be on fire today! His overtakes moves made me remember Schumacher three years ago, almost godlike in terms of pace.

Kimi won 6 races too: Australia, France, Britain, Belgium, China and Brazil.

Maybe it was, but Kimi had a puncture anyway from the first corner contact, so Webber pushing him off didn't make a difference, he had to pit anyway. Kobayashi was just a little over excited, but what a race from him, a real fighter, who doesn't move out of the way of ''oh worldchampionship contender button'' like Grosjean more or less did..

Schumacher did the same to Montoya in 2002 same corner same consequences, exaclty, no penalty was given

Webber is a hard racer, his mentality is that you need to fight very hard to overtake him, everyone knows so.. Kimi has a brake pedal right next to the Accelerator, he took the chance, in his own right to do so and paid the price, had Webber blocked him the same way had Kimi took the outside line, then that would've been a different story, Kimi was never side by side, he ran in the back of Webber.

I was amazed Webber and Kobayashi got away with those moves.

Grosjean however was hilarious. He was so bad he was creating passing places at points where you can't really pass.

I'm glad motorsport doesn't really work like this, otherwise we'd have some horrific accidents would could be legal simply by the offending driver saying "he has a brake pedal!!!!"

There is no excuse for running other cars off the track.

Was a good race, probably the best of the year.

I was shocked Webber got away with the block on Kimi, but them remembered the amount of time MS got away with the same thing. But its not right and we saw drivers last year not get away with minor offences but thats F1.

Great drivers but Button, Vettel and Hamilton just shows this track is perfect for close racing and over taking.

I was a bit shocked Kovy did not get DQ, I am sure its against the rules for another team to work on another teams car I could be wrong though.

Kimi did well to keep going seeing that he got fuel in his eyes.

I still dont get why Trulli was so upset, there was never enough room to pull off the move he was trying.
Webber was just about a full car ahead and presumably misjudged by a matter of cm. I doubt he meant to run him off the road. If he knew what he was doing, then I'd have hoped they'd have thrown the book at him.
Newly crowned world champion Jenson Button will be allowed to celebrate his title with his team, friends and family in Brazil on Sunday night - after Brawn GP team-mate Rubens Barrichello generously laid on his private jet to take the Briton back home on Monday morning.

Button had originally been scheduled to fly to London on the Sunday night British Airways flight out of Sao Paulo, but that plan was thrown into doubt with the scheduled aircraft suffering technical problems.

And although there remains the chance that the flight will still be able to leave, Button has been allowed to stay in Brazil on Sunday night thanks to the generosity of his team-mate.

Gentleman to the end.
