Nascar and IRL etc consist of heavier materials than those used on an F1 car (metal compared to carbon fibre) so if an F1 car went up in the air it would take longer to come back down to the ground again

I know how gravity works mate :) the point I was trying to make was that if you throw a car made of steel into catch fencing and then throw a car of carbon fibre into catch fencing then the carbon fibre car is likely to stay in the air for longer.

Interesting... A proven race winner, in a good car we know what he can do.
Then theres Giancarlo...

Once Alonso makes his mind up I think all the remaining drives will fall into place.

Ralf or Giancarlo? Who hypothetically would be better for that seat?

I'm going to go against what I think the trend would be and say Ralf. He seems the kind of guy that delivers in great cars but doesn't do much in average cars, Fisi being the opposite. The McLaren is likely not to be an average car and it'd be a great boost to Ralf's interest and confidence I think, so I think he'd deliver more from it. Fisi has proved to miss opportunities in great cars.

Indeed...
I would have Ralf only IF I could not get Hiekki or Nico.
Otherwise Ralf over the rest.

Yeah I'm sure Nico is at Williams next year, Heikki at Mclaren, but it's nice to speculate.

Heikki is the most likely one to replace Alonso in McLaren according to very strong rumours coming from inside the McLaren team and Heikki's managers...finnish sportmagazine wrote that McLaren will soon announce their deal with Heikki :)

Thumbs up!

Ralf was fast with Williams car so why not? If he is so crappy like 99% of people on forums beleave McLaren can anyway play sink or swim with him and replace with their test driver(s).

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

Yep I suppose so IWE :) give him a test, and if he is rubbish, don't hire him! elemental has a good point too. Put him in a fast car and suddenly he finds his motivation to win. Sure, I know it's not the right attitude but I'm pretty confident McLaren will have a fast car next year (provided the FIA dont find some way to ban it lol) and fast car + ralf = fast ralf. Also he's German and good for pleasing Mercedes because I'm pretty sure that Nico was first on their list until Williams denied them.

i can't see Ron putting up with Ralf's whinging behaviour for long, if he went there.

if i were Ron, i'd go for anyone but Ralf.

RIP Jules, never to be forgotten. #KeepFightingMichael

I put on the list the McLaren 2nd seat pretenders.
They are Pedro De la Rosa, Heikki Kovalainen and Ralf Schumacher. It´s no official, it´s my thinking :)
