Raikkonen deal with Renault almost done (New developments)

Posted by Joe_Satriani
Webber will either go to Renault or not get a seat at all. McLaren will certainly be either Alonso/Kimi, Alonso/Pedro, Alonso/Paffet or Alonso/Hamilton, and the latter being the most likely. With so many good drivers already in their wing, I can't see why McLaren would need Webber.

Now I'm just hoping Schumacher retires so that Kimi can get number 1 seat at Ferrari. I don't want to see him lining up with Schumi after putting some thought into it.

My typo fault, i was typing WEB at Renault instead of Macca!

Now you're doing it wrong AGAIN!! ;)

You really want to have him at McLaren don't you? ;)
No.
I want Kimi and Button at Honda :)

Ross Brawn wont be there in 2007 so it looks like Michael is going to retire ....

Yeah, hoping Schumacher retires...
So we can have boring champions like alonso and kimi
'Raikkonen signed five-year deal at Ferrari'

According to Finnish tabloid Ilta-Sanomat Ferrari has taken his option on Kimi Raikkonen to race for the Italian team next season. The Finn would have signed a five-year-contract.

The story is based on the Finnish tabloid's reliable sources close to Kimi Raikkonen. According to the source Raikkonen's contract is worth around 160 million euro and thus see the 26-year-old earn 32 million euro a year.

Michael Schumacher said in Hockenheim he will announce his future plans in Monza and it is very likely that Raikkonen's plans will be announced shortly after Schumacher's decision was announced.

I don't know if this has showed up somewhere else, but if this is true, I wonder whether Schumi will stay...
the entire ferrari line up will be anounced at monza that includes drivers and team personel.

Kimi will have an equal contract with ms where they will have equal cars and allowed to race each other
Well if that happens we could well have most exciting season since 2000. My opinion of Schumacher will be go up if he excepts this challenge as he's had things too cosy in the Ferrari team, a bit of real team mate competition will do his reputation a lot of good.
I'd like to see it, I'd REALLY like to see it :) Sadly I doubt it will happen. MS is more likely to retire than take a seat alongaside Kimi but REMEMBER FOR GODS SAKE!!!! that Kimi could still stay at McLaren. IMHO that's more likely than seeing a Kimi/MS partnership.

It would be good because I think everyone would be in for quite a surprise at how good MS still is. Kimi will no doubt beat him sometimes, but I'd put money on Michael coming out on top 3 times out of 4 in equal machinery.

i think kimi will beat him will be faster in quali as well
MS is old and driver doesn't become faster with age over 30 IMO (look at Hill, Mansell...) and I wouldn't be suprised if KR would beat him if they were in the same team. I just hope that MS wouldn't push himself over limit because awful things can happen in that case.

they dont become faster but they do gain more experience and make less errors as they know where the limit is but ms has said he no longer takes the risks that he used to, and having a team mate like kimi he will need to push to the max.
I'd bet my car that Kimi will beat MS if they drive equal Ferraris and are allowed to race eachother :)

It also depends how much testing kimi would get, but he has shown he can drive a good and a bad car fast.

There would be some races ms would beat him look at jpm and even dc, they beat him a few times. But over the year I think he would come out on top.
All things considered, I hope Kimi doesn't go anywhere next year. Ferrari is being dismantled, while Renault seems to be able to put up a good car at the start of the year, but then, can't improve on it much during the year. Kimi should stay at McLaren.
Kimi will go to Ferrari and nothing will chnage that , I dont see that McLaren will be at the top very soon so he should leave McLaren as fast as he can .I think Kimi would beat Michael in Ferrari because well Micahel hasnt been that much faster than Massa lately ....anyway I think it will be quite even but still Kimi will beat him.
Ok, how about this: [f1.racing-live.com]

Ross Brawn ain't quitting ;)
