Brazil 2001? Haha... bad?! So its JPMs fault Jos not the boss rammed into him? And at the speed the cars were I dont think downforce exists

Not only Jos' but also JPM's yes. Jos said Juan braked unnormally early. That's why Jos rammed into his back.

So what if you dont win? You get no money? Or just get more for winning lol?

You get money for doing well.

2005

1 Tony Stewart $6,987,530
2 Greg Biffle $5,729,930
3 Carl Edwards $4,889,990
4 Mark Martin $5,994,350
5 Jimmie Johnson $6,796,660

Prize money is awarded for race positions and pole positions. Money differs for every race with the Daytona 500 being the biggest paying of the year.

And tbh... people close to JPM? Id rather wait for what he says :P

Ok, if you want a quote from JPM heres a fantastic one.

'I want to get back to racing'.

@ Rapid: Why not? Only because JPM has gone? Ron Dennis would rather have Kimi then JPM I think, so I guess Dennis would have waited with signing JPM untill he knew what Kimi was gonna do.

I hate to admit that I have to agree with you. The cars are awesome, but to say they are the hardest to drive may be a stretch. You would think shifting would at least require you to take one hand off the wheel.

Take away the TC, reduce the aerodynamic problems, fit some slicks and give them a shifter and your getting close. However F1 cars are not drivers cars. JPMs a driver. Hes here to drive cars. Hes not here to be in F1 because hes been told its the biggest motorsport in the world

He contacted Chip Ganassi to get the seat and 1 hour later it was done. He wanted to leave to a series that has real cars. Credit to him for going to use some cars that require driver input

``It's not how many millions you're making or how much money you're making,'' Montoya said at Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday. ``It's a matter of, three years down the line, are you going to be excited at what you're doing or not? And three years down the line, when I look at my career, I'll be a lot happier doing this.''

well he could also be joined by jv as well.

its funny that drivers would rather do nascar than irl or open wheel racing.

I doubt it very much. His family is here, and being the honest and frank man that he is, he's said he doesn't want to move to the US having only just properly settled into Europe

Probably not such a significant reason, but what about status?

He is more or less American.

I mean the "Coming home" stuff? So yeah.. at 'home' what kind of status would he recieve being an F1 champ, compared to being a Nascar champ?

Anyone reckon his diet will change? ;)!

I mean, is it about 2-3 G they experience? Alot different to the 5 he felt at Silverstone ;)

"Trulli was slowing down like he wanted to have a picnic" LOL

Then perhaps one should edit an earlier post ;-) and the racing bit in that post too,

The racing in question has nothing to do with it.

because that quote from him at the top completley says opposite.

"Its about the winning (or he wouldnt be in a Ganassi NASCAR) and its not about the money. Its about enjoying life"

He is, as you have said a racer... of course its about winning, otherwise he has no motivation?

What kind of motivation is 'I want to have fun?' I mean the word fun could be defined as alot of things.

*sigh*

JPM to Chip: "I want to return to racing"
JPM LIVE on the NExtel Cup Coverage now: "The racing here is so much more fun"

What kind of motivation is 'I want to have fun?' I mean the word fun could be defined as alot of things.

Fun. Battling other cars. Side by side. RACING.

I've been pretty polite so far, but christ, you need everything spelt out for you.

Bad news for me really, i always thought that JPM would not fit in at Mclaren but the backlash and criticism here of his performance saddens me. Comparing him to Sato is ridiculous tbh and while people look for all the times he has made mistakes i can remember so many wonderful overtaking moves over the years. I can totally understand why he wants to go back to America, F1 isn't much fun anymore and characters like him obviously don't belong in F1 these days. I wish him good luck in the future, it is sad that a REAL racer is leaving F1 for good it seems.
