Uhhh - no. I don't despise him, but I don't place him on a pedestal with Ayrton Senna OR Richard Petty either.

JPM is a mid field driver, and a fair one. He also is an interesting personality, but none of that is enough to keep you behind the wheel of a top F1 teams car. As to his problems in "THE BEST CAR IN F1" I would say he was the cause of 90% of them himself.

Racism...? I won't even dignify THAT remark by a direct response to it....

DC is not the subject here, Im sorry for bringing that. The thing is that theres a lot of people around bashing JPM, totally ignoring how good he was @ Williams and totally ignoring that hes the last TRUE DRIVER in F1 but yeah... Everyone has their own opinion.

Kasey Kahne:
Man, it's awesome. I think Juan Montoya, he's awesome. He's a winner in everything he's ever been in. You know, racing with – whether it's F1, IndyCars, IRL, won the Indy 500 in only one attempt. Pretty neat for NASCAR. Neat to be able to race with him, someone I've always enjoyed watching and thought was one of the best race car drivers.

Mark Martin:
He's a world-class driver. Leaving F1 to come to NASCAR, you know, is a real compliment to all of us, everyone in NASCAR, where they have come, certainly have arrived. I think it's going to be great for everyone. It's really neat.

It's quite an accomplishment for Chip Ganassi. I think it's really cool. He's at the age that he can come and do this. It's not getting late in his career, like some other open-wheel drivers that probably would like to make the switch now, that it's getting more late in their career.

Matt Kenseth:
Obviously, everybody knows who he is, how talented he is. I think that will be really great for the sport. I mean, I've heard everybody's reaction that I talked to, really excited about it, think it's really cool. Kind of a surprise to me, you know, when I heard it. But I've never met him. I don't know him. But I think it's really cool that he's going to show up there and race.

I hate it when they take the comments exact word for word and dont edit out the personal spech irregularities we all have, but there you go, some more quotes from the NASCAR world. Hes being welcomed with open arms.

I really like it actually ;) I think it allows for their personalities to come through and I think you get a very real sense that what Dave's said is exactly right, he's being welcomed whole-heartedly.

Good luck to him, and good luck to them too!

And now something that everybody saw it was coming:

It's almost ceratin that Pedro de la Rosa will replace Montoya in Magny cours and on till the end of the season. That comes from an extremelly tabloid website, but i think that's something that should happen.

According to as.com, Montoya had a clause on his contract, which says he couldn't make public a contract with another team. And Dennis called de la Rosa on sunday to be prepared to have a sit-fitting.

Nothing has been confirmed, but it's the most probable thing.

Why would de la Rosa had a seat fitting while he already has a seat?

i still think they are over-egging the fact he "chose" to leave F1, or "turned his back on F1" for Nascar. i still beieve he was forced out due to the lack of good offers. i mean if Alonso, at the height of his powers, left at the end of this season and went to any other series on the world, that would be a compliment to that series.

but it's not exactly the same when no one actually wants you, and you have to look elsewhere to get a drive. he is no doubt a good driver who deserves to be in F1, but the bosses obviously don't want him.

just my opinion so please don't flame me :)

"Why would de la Rosa had a seat fitting while he already has a seat?"

I also find that odd..

DE La Rosa has a second chance here, he's got 8 races to prove that he still has what it takes to get a decent race seat, although those are beginning to disappear fast.

@ Muks i know what you are saying. JPM could not find a seat in a winning team so rather than drive for a midfield team with no chance of doing well, he chose to move on in his career to new pastures and where he could enjoy his racing again, a perfectly understandable move imo.

@ Jagd while i doubt you despise JPM you have been bashing him rather a lot, i could go on about how DC underachieved at Mclaren with top machinery compared to his team mates for instance, but i still rate DC as a good driver.

That would be even better! If that happens I will cry everytime Hakkinen appears at the screen ;)
