Cos clearly in your eyes JPM was at fault? And theres more to winning than having the fastest car as McLaren have comprehensively shown this year. And last year.

No, he proved he has the fastest car, like he has done for 80% of the season.

this is what makes me laugh ms comes from the back of the grid what a great drive, kimi does it best car even though ms had the best car. Same as gb 2003 yes it was a great drive by RB in the best car but who said that at the time no one everyone said a great drive.

Its about time people gave alonso and kimi credit just like they did with MS and RB

Sorry, I find it hard to believe someone with "iceman" or "kimi" in the name is going to look at the situation objectively.

On balance, the McLaren is fastest but was unreliable. As Symmonds said, speed is only half the challenge - and Alonso has shown he's far more level headed than Kimi. Also, JPM has kept Kimi honest over the past races, japan excluded. I think Alonso and Kimi are too close to call, but the right man won.

They are both fast , but I think Kimi is better , Alonso was last year slower then the man in the 2005 Toyota , Jarno Trulli . But meh thats just imho

As Symmonds said, speed is only half the challenge

less than half. qualifying is about strategy, the race about reliability.
i'd like to some races where being the quickest means someting

i was speaking more generally, of the balance between speed and reliability. Renault got that balance near perfect, mclaren less so.

yep mclaren pushed it to the limit and paid but a risk worth taking as they would have finished behind renault anyway.

They were unlucky at sepang with the tyre and remember we lost a race this year where renualt were not fully on it.

Alonso is much faster than Trulli.

Last year Flavio wanted to keep Jarno at Renault cause he knows is a very good driver. Everybody thinks the other way. He gave Jarno best engines for the first half of the season, until Jarno said to him he wanted to leave, Toyota paid him double (around 10 million

The fastest laps from the Japanese GP:

1. Raikkonen (lap 44)
1:31.540
141.904 mph

2. Alonso (lap 21)
1:31.599
Gap:
0.059

0.059 is by FAR?

You cant look at fastest laps , maybe (and i say maybe so) , maybe raikkonen is driving all race long that time and alonso one round and the other rounds 1 second slower , you cant see anything from the fastest laps .

japan didnt prove he was "by far" the fastest. Alonso was amazingly quick too, except he lost masses of time with Klien. Not too shabby since we KNOW his car isnt as quick, eh?

Ok , I think we should stop with : Who is the best ? Kimi did win in Japan so he was the best , Juan did win in Brazil so he was there the best , etc .

When's the last time Alonso actually caught and passed Kimi fair and square on track? I can't remember them having an on-track scrap.

yeh but all of Kimi's scrap with Alonso have been superficial.
Alonso has been well up the road and their pitstop sequence out of sync.
