"if" is a word used by people who don't accept to loose !

On a different note, wasn't it nice to see Ron Dennis, of all people, in tears of joy at the end of the race? It shows despite the grey exterior there's a racing heart beating away.

Couple of things

The JV penalty isn't really that harsh, 25 seconds added to his race time doesn't cost him any championship points here, and its not a 10 places grid penalty for the next race. The most damage it does to him is perhaps making him start a couple of places earlier in china qualifying, so not really a big deal.

Something else struck me about the Alonso Klien incident. Why when he was 7 seconds ahead after several laps was he not given a penalty? Surely after that much time it should have been a drive through rather than just telling him to slow down. Or is this the stewards trying not to stuff up races with penalties everywhere.

The racing heart beats only for about 50% of McLaren drivers.

not read everything yet, but just felt I had to post this quote from HakkinenF1 from page 3:

"and David Allways been about 8,00 slower tham Mika on Suzuka
except 2001
so i think Kimi is realy a crap here
and about the ten places Kimi spent third of his race behind Da Matta in 2003,so i guess he will be pretty stock
bye bye Constractury champy
and about the second practice Kimi only managed 9 laps then it started raining after 30 mins
"

yep, 17th to 1st really is very crap.

a fantastic race... simply fabulous... great victory for kimi... i have been very upset when the flat tyre cost him his best drive in monza, but today he showed his class and quality. and alonso simply moans as always. he was still in front of raikkonen when he let klien pass him the second time. so if he's fast enough, he still can beat kimi but there was 17 secs at the end of the race. very very satisfied with this race.

kimi shocked me.. like a few ppl i sed he would be slow. he wasnt tho :)

but also Alonso.. was well.. almost.. erratic..

watching him behind shumi was fun.. but the watchin kimi behind them both he seemed soo cool and calm.. ready to pounce if any1 tripped.

Fishichella hasa given 4 points to McLaren today wich may cost the championship for Renault.

Fisi only gave McLaren 2 points, as if he had won he would have got 10, but came 2nd so gave away 2 points and only got 8.

firstly, can the commentators stop using the oh-so-tiring "1-lap specialist" phrase for Trulli?

also, in the Qually press conference, Ralf was asked how he liked the TF104B. surely they are using a TF105B??:) I thought he would make a funny comment that they are not using last seasons car, but he didn't notice the slip of the tongue.

great race, great driving and great overtaking moves. the Renault (well, Alonso's at least) looked to have the kind of pace the McLarens have had the past couple of races.

Great moves by both Kimi and Fernando, was fantastic to watch.

Really unfortunate how the stewards cocked up on the Klien-Alonso incident, must have cost him a good 7-10 seconds. it looks like they simply weren;t concentrating on watching the race when it happened, so missed Alonso allowing Klien past, thern re-passing him. to them it must have just looked like Alonso cut the chicane, then stayed ahead, because he was in front of Klien into turn 1.

and what was Jim talking up Jensons chances for before the race, again? he totally ignored Ralf being on pole (someone who has actually won a race) and always goes on and on "could today be Jensons day?".

Ralf was pretty crap considering he qualified on fumes and finished 8th from pole.

and Sato, what can we say? Trulli was correct, the guy is dangerous and makes stupid moves 3 or 4 times a season.

and Fisi is gonna be in a lot of trouble if Renault lose the Constructors Crown by 2 points (the 2 he lost in Japan).

its the same thing as when Trulli lost 3rd to Rubens at France 2004 on the last couple of corners, Flavio won't be happy to say the least. Trulli pretty much got fired for that.

Great race. Kimi was fantastic. It was like water torture having to watch Schumacher get passed, re-passed and passed again...ugh.

The Japanese commentators were hilarious! When Button pulled in for his last pit-stop they were all like: 'OH! Aarrghhh! Gasp! Sigh!' all at once! LOL. Sweet justice that a Williams finished in front of the Honda.(yes, it's a cheap shot.)

Bring on the last round and get that S%#t box Ferrari packed away for good!

Cheers.
