(Yay... A reply! My post got a reply!!! An actual thread has started! :D)
They're saying the chicane on the Mistral Straight might be removed for next year, which would be sweet.
I don't agree with the painted strips all around the track, they remind of the silly painted stripes at Abu Dhabi the first year the race was held there. I really think gravel run-offs would work better.

F1 French Grand Prix 2018
Great to see that they've revived one of the classic circuits. It's not just the first French Grand Prix since 2008 and first Grand Prix at Paul Ricard since 1990, it's the first Grand Prix on effectively the original Paul Ricard layout since 1985, which is niiice.
Interesting and fun race in prospect. A lot of unknowns going into Quali. Crazy rain this

F1 Wehrlein for 2017, definitely - he's the obvious choice being a long-term Mercedes protégé, and he has very real talent - I thought he did a great job this year with Manor, and I felt it was unfair on him when Ocon came in and suddenly grabbed the limelight. Ocon is an impressive talent too, but less experienced, and he's already had one major promotion by getting the Force India drive.

F1 Holy crap...!! Just 12 hours ago I was speculating how he might go on and win more titles... Oh dear.
I guess he wants to retire while he's at the top, has had a longish run in F1 already(although he's still very young) and feels he's had enough of the pressure of fighting for the title in a top team - but I'm guessing family must be the overriding factor.

F1 Well done Nico!!
Great season from him, all in all. He did have a few difficult times(Monaco and Canada, then later in the middle of the season as well) but overall he looked like a different driver altogether this year. I sensed(or, rather, hoped at the time) that his 3 straight wins at the end of last year might be the sign of a turning point for him and might serve as the platform for a suc

F1 Also, and this is pure speculation, but I've been wondering if the success of Max might lead to a resurrection of the Dutch GP in the near future.
F1 back at Zandvoort would be amazing. I've always loved that circuit(Including the new one) and been very drawn to it.

Awesome!!
There's been something missing from the calendar without France, with it being one of the original F1 countries and all; It's good to visit new places but it's important to keep in touch with the original races too,

F1 I can't see how or why they would sanction Lewis, he is in the top 5% of all drivers ever in terms of sheer raw talent, maybe the top 2%. They would be cutting off their nose to spite their face. Plus, although disobeying the team orders was a bit cheeky, it was racing and it had no detrimental effects at all for the team, which is what really matters!
As said already, he might get a warni

F1 Personally I don't see anything hilarious about that Seb video, to me it just suggests that someone had too much time on their hands... Each to their own I guess.

F1 Mainly dull race that suddenly exploded into life at the end, and very interesting podium ceremony.
I love Seb to bits, but his comments over the radio during races are starting to get silly. Telling the Race Director to @#$%& off is OTT, and his comments in the past race interview were surprising too. It's like he's gotten possessed this weekend(Although asking if he could go for a

F1 As will be obvious from my last couple of posts, IMO this wasn't the most exciting race. Ricciardo's comment towards the end about catching Rosberg(and his engineer's response on the run-down lap) and Kimi's reverse down the pitlane were amusing though.
I remember Gav's comment after Brazil 2012, saying only Kimi could get lost and end up on a different track... This was

Genius.
The Shoey is the best thing that's happened to the podium ceremony since I can remember. Refreshingly genuine and fun. Even if the thought of drinking out of one grosses me out a bit... Maybe that's just my OCD though.

F1 I would've been happy watching Lindsey Vonn a bit more, shame there was only the one shot of her on lap 32. (Or two, if you also count the formation lap.) The Force is strong in that one.

F1 Ridiculously slow reply on my part, but yeah, I get you 100%. It's the kind of comment that would be easy to understand face-to-face but can come across ambiguous in written text.
And yeah, I definitely think his response would've been completely different if Hamilton/Verstappen had made the same move, and his analysis of Alonso's move adds even more weight to your argument, abs

F1 I thought it was pushing the limits, but that it was a very ballsy and creative move, and that it demonstrated a change in Rosberg - before this season he would've just followed Kimi, or only attempted a move in an obvious place.
I didn't detect any obvious signs that Brundle had begun to dislike Rosberg and let it influence his commentary, but even if he has, I don't particular

Off-Topic Just saw their Glastonbury headlining gig on TV earlier tonight... Really good! Think their lighting at gigs has improved even more over the last few years. There were a few standout moments for me, with Starlight(the whole song) and the intro to Supermassive Black Hole being my favourites.
Impressive, too, that they've now done the "Glasto hat trick" of headlining all three night

So - it's actually happening!
I admit I find it surprising. I voted Leave, because I didn't feel particularly strongly either way, but I decided that when in doubt, a change is probably good. But I thought that most people would vote for the safe option, and it was both surprising and interesting that overall they didn't.
Now there's talk of a General Election, and anoth

F1 Yeah, it was on the processional side. I'm probably cooler with that than most this time, as a Nico fan, but... Yeah.
I guess it demonstrates why F1 drivers are considered the best in the world, too.
Brilliant performance from Nico, deserved the Grand Chelem. He's starting to build up some impressive statistics on the sly, and he's got the vibe of a Champion-elect too now IMO.

F1 Surprised nobody has mentioned the similarity to Macau with the variation in track width, so I will anyway. :P
Nice track layout, I've got to say - a lot of variety in corners for a Tilkedrome, and combined with the elevation changes and low-grip surface, it should make a very entertaining race. The track seems unusually treacherous - with barriers that seem better than usual at plucking wh

I'm pretty sure you're right, with the best example IMO being the 1995 European GP. There should be more races in Europe in the early spring and late autumn.
