I think the writing was on the wall in 2011 when the BBC announced they were stopping showing every race live, and didn't fight for exclusive broadcasting rights. Their heart clearly wasn't in it anymore. Personally I haven't watched any F1 on the BBC since late 2013, when I got my Sky subscription sorted. Sky's coverage has been in a different league. It's a possibility, yeah. How much of it might be down to that and how much of it might be down to the unusual nature of Singapore as a circuit, it's hard to tell right now - I guess it'll be much clearer once we've been to Japan and Russia, and seen how the car performs on those tracks too, whether this is just a blip in their performance or whether it's concrete evidencby EC83 - F1

It's Seb's race to lose now, but if Ricciardo can get ahead at the start it would definitely bring it alive. Really surprised at the lack of pace from Mercedes. I was sure before quali that they were sandbagging.by EC83 - F1

This quali should be excellent. If Lewis gets Pole, he equals Senna's record for longest run of Poles and breaks the record for consecutive Poles inside of one season. If a Mercedes gets Pole, they equal Williams' record. If anyone else gets Pole, it means there's a genuinely close field and therefore an exciting race in prospect. Win win. Bring it on!by EC83 - F1

Yeah, we all have our own way of dealing with difficult emotions, there's no wrong way. I definitely identify with the feeling of numbness, I get that too before the raw emotion comes out. Tom Pryce's accident was definitely horrendous. It wasn't included in this documentary - it abruptly tails off after Roger Williamson's accident and the only thing before the end creditsby EC83 - F1

Saw it again on BBC4 just now. As fun as it always is to watch footage(the non-tragic footage that is) and hear stories told about F1 back in the day, the reliving of the fatal accidents themselves is something I find very hard going. The worst, for me, is the last to be featured: Roger Williamson's crash, the footage of which I find nauseating and traumatic even to watch as I can'tby EC83 - F1

For me it would also be ironic if Lewis gets stripped of a win in race that went so exceptionally perfectly for him, even down to Nico failing to finish. It would be a dream result for Vettel's title chances though. Apparently, according to Rob Smedley when Martin Brundle spoke to him just there, there's a possibility of rain before the end of the race... WTF? I know this is Spa, but that would be like something actually out of a script. It would need to rain hard too, considering with the amount of heat in the track light rain would just burn straight off.by EC83 - F1

Crazy crash in GP3 a few minutes ago too, fortunately nobody hurt. Another incident on the first racing lap after the SC as well! No shortage of drama going on this weekend. Ironically, the one time there's perfect weather all weekend at Spa.by EC83 - F1

It was the 1999 Canadian GP last night. Enjoyed it, even if I didn't enjoy it live when I was a hardcore MS fan. Mark Blundell wasn't too bad a commentator IMO, certainly I don't find his commentary annoying. I liked Murray's commentary before the race about the hot conditions and the unique situation and problems it helped create. He did a brilliant job of building up theby EC83 - F1

Yeah, that sig tribute is nice(although I liked the Bruno Mars lyric you had there before it too) and I've always liked that mashup of pics of MS in 93(I think) and 97. I remember you putting that in your sig when his comeback with Mercedes was first announced, LOL. Yeah, it was pretty cool they played in a relatively obscure place like Dundee, nevermind one of the smaller venues there. I still have the selfie I took of me and Cristina, in fact I just put it up on my Google+ page the other day - which is probably why it's in my consciousness now, LOL. LOL! Yeah, that was a class moment. The "Ding dong, are we gonna see a race now!" on lap 28 was pretty funny too. I'm sure Murray dropped innuendos on purpose from time to time. Tonight it was the 1998 Belgian GP, and in the early laps when MS and Damon were battling for the lead, Murray repeatedly called Damon the 1994 World Champion, and then went on to start describing theirby EC83 - F1
