Well you can, but we're probably not allowed to say how on this site... Why does it fail to install? What's the problem?by TomMK - Grand Prix 4
Download ZaZ Tools and GPxPatch. Install GP4 and then patch it using the ZaZ Tools patchdownloader (it's on the Start Menu). Run the game, calibrate your graphics, sound and controller and run a race to make sure everything is ready. Make sure you set your graphics manually (Options -> Graphics -> Advanced) to high res car textures (this is probably why you were getting whiteby TomMK - Grand Prix 4
GP4 slows down because you increased the resolution!by TomMK - Grand Prix 4
Open f1graphics.cfg and edit the first 3 lines like this: 1 ; f1graphics.cfg controls all settings (default 0) 1920 ; Game 3D Horizontal Resolution 1080 ; Game 3D Vertical Resolutionby TomMK - Grand Prix 4

I would look for a tool by the gamepad manufactuer then, there's normally some software that comes with the drivers where you can change the device's behaviour.by TomMK - Grand Prix 4
My theory is actually that the variance value is only added, not subtracted from the performance value. So in the example above the variance would be 17000 - 17500. I've done a bit of testing of this: it seems to me that increasing the var leads to greater performance sometimes, but never worse. How did you find my test site!! Cheers mortal, long way to go yet...by TomMK - Grand Prix 4
I've started putting together a few ideas for GP4 Central, and I purchased the domain a few weeks ago. It's going to take a while to make the site into, well, anything really. I'm pretty slow with these things but I'm determined to make the site work! One thing that I can start with though is hosting space, which is available now. So if anyone wants to have GP4 Central hby TomMK - Grand Prix 4
Could this year be going any better for GP4?by TomMK - Grand Prix 4

Nice dat file! I need to get a move on and learn how to do this stuff.by TomMK - Grand Prix 4
The suspension arms are part of the car shape, unfortunately I don't think there is much you can do about it if they are visible from inside the cockpit.by TomMK - Grand Prix 4
OK, so this track editting thing is massively addictive! I've started a track from scratch and I'm making the pitlane. Does it matter if my fences are not lined up perfectly, like this: I noticed that in the original GP4 tracks, all the fences are lined up perfectly, how do they do this?!by TomMK - Grand Prix 4
Lo2k Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > the clean solution is to recreate the whole track from the beginning of your new portion I was afraid of that! I thought changing one section would be the easiest way to learn but I've changed my mind. I'm going to make a simple circuit from scratch.by TomMK - Grand Prix 4
I'm trying to learn how to edit tracks. For my first attempt, I want to remove the Abbey chicane from Silverstone 2001 (so it is more like 1991-1993 layout). I'm stuck . I have more sections of track than I need (because the chicane uses more sectors than a simple corner) but if I delete sectors, the length of my last sector (where it rejoins the track before Bridge) isn't rightby TomMK - Grand Prix 4
Amazing series of track updates Kimi!by TomMK - Grand Prix 4
I've made an Empty Mod for the 2011 F1 season, similar to Tony's one from a couple of years ago. Download link below. I've called it a beta for now, I would welcome any feedback! 2011 Empty Modby TomMK - Grand Prix 4

The thing I can't do is the "art". I have no skill at image editing or making sites look "good". If anyone has Photoshop skills (or better still, skillz) then I would like to talkby TomMK - Grand Prix 4
GP4central.com will host the files in future. I will fund the hosting myself, so that's not an issue. Eventually I would like the site to be THE place where the community stores its files (instead of rapidshare etc) but that won't happen quickly. We need to build it up over the next couple of years. The model will be pretty much an exact copy of GP4DB (because it was a great site!).by TomMK - Grand Prix 4
