Thanks for the advice :)
Yeah, I have thought about doing that and have done a little bit of research. Unfortuantely though I read that Dell computers such as mine have all their CPU overclocking options disabled :(

think my PC will be OK (once i replace the soundcard, which is bottlenecking everything). However, i've just 'upgraded' my 360 to one of the new shiny ones (boy what a difference! :) ) so i'll probs get F1 2010 for that, and wait till PC version hits the bargain bucket

You can get the PC version for £20 at shopto.net. That's a bargain price!

The new 360 isnt any differnet :S to old one except it has built in wifi no difference in graphics.

i never said there was any difference in graphics... but as a piece of kit, it's far superior to the old one - much quieter, much sleeker, no slowdown on dashboard (which seemed to happen a lot on my old one). it's what the xbox should have been first time round

The "upgraded" should have given it away

I think when it comes to PC's these days as long as you have a CORE 2 DUO and an 8800 or above and 4GB of ram your computer will run games better than any console.

Cos the times of needing a top of the range PC to run games is now a massive myth.

The consoles are 4 year old tech now and just about any PC would be able to run console games with a cheap £50 graphics card off ebay.

I'm sorry, but I have a core 2 duo, better then 8800 and 4GB and your wrong. Mass Effect on my 360 or pc is a huge difference,
on the pc I have to play it on medium to get it playable and don't get me started on Mass Effect 2.

So yeah you can run games on such a system, but everthing has to be at medium or even low settings,
at a console you don't have that problem

Sure you do. You just don't have the ability to improve the situation with graphics settings. Grand Theft Auto 4 and Command and Conquer are examples of 2 games that can bring a console to it's knees.

The performance between consoles and PCs are no where near as simple as what you guys are making out.

By the way, I really wish we'd know more about wheels. I could buy a G27 for 225 dollars (not the 299 usual price) and I'm interested in that but if the game won't support it then no use.
