Close, it's actually Sigma 10-20mm one. :)

Haha, as I was writing it I thought, "Hmm there is a chance he's got the Sigma one but meh!".

I'd quite like to get a wide angle lens for my 400D. Just got the kit 18-55 and its a bit limiting. I'd like to be able to take landscape kind of pics so a wide angle lens would suit me fine. My Mum might buy me membership of the National Trust for my birthday so I can get in free and just walk around gardens taking pics to learn and improve.

:-)

Yeah, landscape photos were the reason I bought that lens too. After a few days use that Sigma feels like really solid performer. Distortions are not bad at all, I expected them to be much more worse. It's also really sharp, and built quality feels about 10 times better than on the kit lens.
The lens I bought was a secondhand one, but you couldn't tell that by it's condition, and I got it 100 euros cheaper than the new one would have cost.

In western Finland, in a small town called Evijärvi. [link2.map24.com]

Looks pretty sharp too Ville! :D

Only concern is... 10mb for a jpeg? It's the same res as my camera, and my RAW images are that sort of size :P

Do you find when you cook them they lose a bit of weight/size/mass?

*Wonders if Gav gets my weird humour*

Yeah, it's amazingly sharp lens compared to the kit lens. Though you would expect that of 4 times more expensive lens. The shots I posted have also been taken with relatively long exposure time without any support for the camera, so they could be much sharper.

And the size is 10mb just because I used best compression settings and 350dpi resolution for the RAW -> JPEG conversion. Could have done with more optimal compression.

You should clean the lens, the picture is all blurry in some places.

we often get squirrels in the garden. today this one was walking around the garden looking for food, and sitting on its back legs and eating something it was holding in both hands. there were also 2 really fat pigeons, looked almost like ducks. all 3 of them were looking for food at the same time.

i ran to get my camera to snap all of them but the pigeons had gone and when i went to the window, the squirrel ran off to the fence:

Great shots Karan! Shame that the roads and buildings spoil some shots though... The first and third one would be just amazing views without them.
