I managed to sell all but 2 of the models I wanted to sell (1:43 Wurz '99 Benetton and 1:18 F2001 Monza Black Nose WIP are left).

and I finally got my hands on this after spending a small fortune on ebay:

also got this:

the figure of Kimi on the top model is infinitely better than the ones you get with the Mattel cars, and this is only 1:43, and they are 1:18 and they still look sh*t and weirdly out of proportion!

I now need to track down the decals to convert the McLaren to 'West' livery.

Yes, they are a tad expensive :(

I used to have a few of them in the standard square covers, with a lovely wooden base. I actually preferred that case actually, because the domed ones are plastic, and it does show really, but the problem is looking at the model in a case with square edges does distort it somewhat, where the domes are optically perfect, and apparently hand blown - no jokes there please ;)

was looking on ebay last night, and saw this:

[cgi.ebay.co.uk]

now obviously the French GP is non-tobacco, so i sent them this messaage:

hey there,

you do know that the French GP is a non-tobacco race, so this model is not accurate because it has been converted to tobacco decals?

they replied today, saying:

hi
yes we do know that.
That is way it is rare.

if it is not accurate, how is it rare?

I could add Marlboro decals to a Kimi Raikkonen McLaren, and call that rare, but obviously it wouldn't be rare, it would be wrong and inaccurate.

idiots.

It's OK, they're from Huddersfield. None of us quite know what's going on with living in these hills. :P

how many of these Damon Hill special edition models did they make? (the ones in the tall-box with cardboard outer sleeve)

I have the '96 German GP winner:

and the '94 British GP winner:

and the Arrows shown above.

and there is this '98 Jordan that celebrates 4th place at the German GP, but why not make it a Spa race-winner version instead?

[cgi.ebay.co.uk]

it seems strange to make a model dedicated to a 4th place, when he actually won a race that season which the model could have represented.

so are there only these 4 in the Damon Hill 'Special' collection?

yeah I had a look at those, but I was wondering if there are only 4 in the 'special' version that come in the tall-box, and have a cardboard outer sleeve.

I have 3 of them, so if there are only 4 in the sub-set, I only need the Jordan to complete that set.

I know there are more 'normal' versions of Hills cars, but am only after completing the 'special' version set.
