I guess you could claim that there are 'new regulations' or something (like the 2009 F1 season)

Who knows? It would shake things up a bit...

I'm actually not sure if that wouldn't scare away too many people. I mean, I clearly remember the reactions when I only suggested to bring the drivers closer together by various actions in my early times here. To sum it up, they weren't very nice.

I'm convinced that altering the drivers perfs with this 'age effect' would make a good start, though I have to agree with Marko that maybe the number has to be a little bit higher than only 20 points. Oh, and I just got another idea of how to restrict the team perfs a bit, in addition to the reduced perf grow. That is, put the perf cap a bit down. Don't cap it at 810 points, like right now, but already at 800 points (for example). This would additionally condemn the superiority of of the top teams at the end of a season a bit more.

I think we need to avoid condemning the top teams for being "top teams.". Regardless of how they got there, and how long they have been there for, AMR and TSS are still front runners and that fact should be celebrated. My idea was simply a (very) long term fix in that I don't see the point of new teams being able to buy old ones. Simply make each new team start with the base perf and over time, albeit a long time, the grid will shuffle about.

No, John, I meant drivers/teams boost as such would be higher than 6x50 pts and 24 bhp for teams, so that it actually take more of a effect when strategically aplying it.
though I think this really shouldnt be happening should it, driver perfs thingy. Cause variance is 600, so why does one dominate with 40 or more perf points?
this could be totally wrong guess, but does it have to do with perf slots too?

in the history of gpgsl, only teams/drivers from 1 st and 4th slot on the grid have won championship (apart from season 1) Ferrari and Jordan(?) from gp4 original.
perhaps we should draw the slots on perf instead of order of constructors.

Good interesting point there...

Personally I think its an awful decision to reset the team perfs, its a cheap idea to increase interest, and surely you would then need to wipe the drivers perfs too which I cant see the people agreeing too
The age idea that has been mentioned however is interesting
I also agree on Chris' point in regards to new teams having to use the base perf

Races: 163 - Wins: 23 - Pole Positions: 24 - Fastest Laps: 22
Season 9: Constructors' Champions
This is all too complicated now...can we just leave it as it is?

+1 tbh I think this would drive a lot of people away. Personally I am a fan of the way that boosts work on the gpg nations cup. You can base your strategy on weather and championship position and it actually feels like you have some control instead of just being shear pot luck.

I think it's best if we just leave the discussion about top drivers/teams for a few races, something might change in those races.

Rodrigo's race so far is great, I really hope that he can maintain his position during the pitstops. Carlos however will not get his usual drink bottle, but one with some nice peppers in it to fire him up ;) Along with a full tank of fuel and some fresh tires he should be fine ;-)

Come on Aston! With my in break beer!
ART Team Radio

Stefan: How is the car?
Rodrigo: So good. I'm thinking on last parto of race.
Stefan: Take care with walls, lots of people hit...
Rodrigo: Don't worry, boss!!

Race Day (Part 2)

The pitstops continue as Greenhalgh chases Cartwright.

Cartwright heads for his pitcrew and some new boots and Greenhalgh inherits the lead.

Jalving makes a fopar at the Scala Chicane.

He manages to avoid any contact.

Greenhalgh in the pits.

He manages to get out before Vilela can pass him.

But whats this? Greenhalgh leading with Vilela in 2nd! Warrington 3rd! Where's Cartwright?

Greenhalgh on cold tires gets it all crossed up at the chicane.

Oh no! This could be costly!

Greenhalgh survives his brush with the wall, but Vilela is now leading.

Warrington still hasn't stopped. Looks like the AMR boys have fooked up again!

Elleker goes for 10th.

He does it!

20 laps completed.

Rodriguez goes for 14th.

Somogyi doesn't look like he's going to make that corner.

Scratch another ScalaGP!

Warrington finally makes a stop. Definitely one stopping.

From 3rd to 18th, this race is close!

Finally the camera's find Cartwright down in 5th. We just don't know how he fell back so far.

Vilela still leads, in that he is in 1st position and everyone else isn't.

Greenhalgh 2nd.

Jalving 3rd.

20 laps to go.

The gap between Vilela and Greenhalgh looks constant.

As is the gap between 2nd and 3rd.

The second round of pitstops has begun as Vilela takes on new tyres.

Time for a break.

Part 3 later.

John: What the @#$%& was that? You call that a pit stop? Even the hobby-mechanics down at Larry's are faster! That cost me a lot of positions, damnit. Get that straight for the second stop!

Race Day (Part 3)

Welcome back after a relatively short break compared to the last one ;)

Back to the action and Elleker attempts to overtake Kittleson.

Thats looking awfully tight!

Elleker manages to stop his car before he hit the wall.

He rejoins the race in 14th.

Greenhalgh leaving his last stop late, surely he's not one stopping too?!!

Vilela currently in 9th after his 2nd stop.

Pedersen too is yet to stop.

And Jalving.

As everyone makes their 2nd stops, Warrington is now up to 10th.

Sheppard is another driver to fall foul of the Scala Chicane.

He keeps it out of the wall though.

Greenhalgh still pounding round trying to take advantage of his low fuel.

Greenhalgh takes to the pits with 10 laps left.

And leaves it in the lead, but will he hold off Vilela whose tyres are much warmer.

10 laps to go.

Looks like Ed is pulling out a gap.

Jalving now back in 3rd.

Elleker takes fastest lap.

That gap is growing.

5 laps left.

Horváth trying to overtake Greidanus.

They touch! What a mess!

Traffic jam!

Hunsley gets away.

The cars of shame tangle.

They all finally get away with Greidanus the biggest loser in that melee not of his making.

Warrington now coming under pressure from Cartwright.

His old tyres look like they have given up the ghost.

He smacks into the wall. The penalty won't have to be issued.

Jalving closing on Vilela, but has he left it too late?

Looks like it as they start the final lap.

Last lap!

Aussie Ed Greenhalgh wins his 2nd Aussie GP in a row.

Vilela 2nd.

Jalving 3rd.

Congratulations Ed Greenhalgh, Aston Martin Racing.

Stay tuned for the official results.
