F1 Manager - 2005 Season - End of the Season!

Completely disappointed with results, especially with Takuma's last place in the qualifying session after a good weekend in Montreal
Jordan

Disappointing result for us, especially after our good performance in Canada. Let's hope that both cars finish the race, maybe we can get one or two points then.

Wow 7th is a great result for Timo. Please can our car last the full distance please!
Mclaren Mercedes

Great work from Nico to grab pole but so far this season pole has meant nothing in the race. Great by Seb too to get 5th.

Renault
Great qualifying results for us.
Sauber

Jeez!!! this season can't end soon enought!!!
USA Grand Prix Race Broadcast

Hello and welcome back to Indianapolis, the home of the 2005 USA grand prix. In yesterday's qualifying session Mclaren driver Nico Rosberg took his first ever F1 pole position with veteran Williams man Michael Schumacher alongside him on the front row. Will the curse of pole position that we have seen so much this season strike again or can Nico Rosberg take his first grand prix win? The red lights are on so lets find out.

The 2005 USA grand prix is go and Michael Schumacher has made an awful start

Barrichello looks to go around the outside of Rosberg in the first corner

The Mclaren driver stands firm but David Coulthard has managed to take 3rd

With a lap gone, here is the running order

Klien is having a look at Massa

He's never going to get through there

Klien's had to lift and now Kubica is all over the back of him

The Red Bull man is through

It's close towards the back of the field

Kubica is up the inside of Massa

Massa doesn't put up much of a fight and Kubica is through

Race leader Rosberg sets a new fastest lap

Alonso gets down the inside of Coulthard at turn one and is into 3rd

That doesn't look good for Schumacher, he's out

DaMatta is having a look at Heidfeld

Not this time

Heidfeld is now pressurizing Ralf Schumacher but there's no way through

Look away Macca25!! The Red Bull drivers are battling

Kubica safely makes it through down the inside into turn one

Massa looks very slow today

Now past Webber, Kubica sets a new fastest lap

Zonta is trying to get past Massa

He's easily through, what's going on with Massa?

Another fastest lap for Kubica as he looks to pass Glock

Glock holds firm

Villeneuve dives down the inside of Massa

Fisichella is through past Davidson

Kubica is on a charge and is now past Glock

Fisichella is now having a look at Massa

He can't get through this time around

Lotterer is through past Jenson Button

The race leader is in. He must be 3 stopping

Alonso is also in

Rosberg is safely out infront of the Spaniard

Vettel is under pressure from the rampant Kubica

The Pole is through

Massa is holding up more drivers. What has happened to the driver that won last time out?

That's the end for Barrichello. An engine problem for the Brazilian

Davidson becomes the latest driver to pass Massa

Kubica is right up behind race leader Coulthard

Rosberg is stuck in traffic. The 3 stopper is looking like a bad call from JohnWarrington

Kubica is through into the lead

But he pits at the end of the lap

After seeing off Raikkonen, Rosberg now has to get past Massa

A mistake from Massa and Rosberg is through

1 stopper Massa is holding up his teammate

And Kubica takes advantage to take 5th

Here's the current running order

Kubica is past Massa and into 4th

Massa is out with a transmission failure. Is that why he was so slow?

A water leak ends Mark Webber's race

Vettel has jumped Coulthard in the pits and the two rejoin in the thick of the action

Kubica pits

Race leader Vettel is safely through though which means Kubica still has a lot of work to do

A puncture ends the race of Nick Heidfeld

Here's the current top 8

Oh no!! Suspension failure for Robert Kubica. He was doing so well too.

Pole sitter Rosberg is under pressure

His team mate leads the race

He and Coulthard are looking good

Here is the running order

And the pitstops with them all done (I think)

I was wrong! Raikkonen is in.

Heartbreak for Glock! A loose wheel has cost him 5th place

Sebastian Vettel takes his second win of the season

David Coulthard is second

Ricardo Zonta grabs a podium for Arrows

Christian Klien finishes 4th

Jacques Villeneuve is 5th

Nico Rosberg is 6th

Giancarlo Fisichella ends the race in 7th

Andre Lotterer takes the last point

And that, as they say, is that. Thanks for tuning in to the 2005 United States grand prix and goodbye.

DOTD: Robert Kubica: His suspension failure cost him a certain win today. I have no doubts that he would of caught up and passed Vettel and Coulthard. He was on fire today.

Kovalainen Enters Formula One
Current GP2 driver and Sauber test driver Heikki Kovalainen, today announced that he had successfully secured a place in Formula next season. Although the young Finnish whether he would be racing or testing in Formula in the 2006 season, he did reveal that he will be making the switch from Sauber to Arrows, soon to be Super Aguri, on a two year deal worth around £13m. Kovalainen also revealed he had received an offer from Sauber, but instead chose to become Arrows second signing for 2006 after Timo Glock announced he would be staying with the team for the '06 and '07 seasons.

Lotterer Retained By Jordan
It came to little surprise in the paddock after Jordan that Andre Lotterer, who has driven for the current outfit for the previous two seasons, announced that he would be extending his stay at the, currently, Irish team. Jordan, who are of cause set to become Midland in 2006, revealed that their young German driver had committed his future to the team for the next two seasons in a deal worth £15m.

De La Rosa Makes Surprise Return
However in contrast to Jordan, Renault did make a surprise signing after announcing that they had secured the services of Spaniard Pedro De La Rosa for the 2006 season. De La Rosa, whose F1 career looked to be over following a difficult campaign with Minardi in 2004, was delighted to report that he had signed a one year deal with Renault in a deal worth around £5m.

Also, after having a quick look at my pms and the thread, I believe I am yet to receive testing plans from Ferrari and Williams. I'll be running the session Thursday evening so you will have until then to submit your plans.

@John
Firstly thanks for running the GP again and I am very happy for you to run the German Grand Prix as well and, if you're still up for it, I'm happy for you to handle to perfs next season if you still want to :)

What the hell happened with Alonso? He was in 4th and then suddenly down a minute and 13th ... Before eventually ending up 10th

He, like Rosberg, was on a three stop strategy which was in no uncertain terms the wrong choice

No problem. Glad to help. I am definitely still interested :)

Thanks for answering, I did however noticed you put in 'one-stop' strategy before the edit though ;) ;) ;)
When hitting the respond button he corrected it to your newer post xD

Haha that I did. I suddenly thought "Hang on, Vettel, Massa and Coulthard were on one stoppers not Alonso."

Renault
Unfortunately reliability strikes again but we're glad Coulthard finished 2nd.

In other news, Pedro De La Rosa will be in a test role for next season and if allowed we could like to replace Gene for the rest of this season.
RED BULL STATEMENT

The FIA not allowing us in the last test has really hurt us.

We are currently considering our legal position.

Jordan

We feel sorry for Kimi that he lost again some safe points. He was on a one stop strategy, but due to some problems with the fueling system during his stop he had to come in again. Luckily the one who profited by this was André, so at least the point stayed in the team.

We're happy to announce that André has signed a new contract and will stay in the team for another two season. He has improved a lot since he joined us, and we're sure that he'll get even better.

Arrows

We are thrilled today to be celebrating 2 happy occasions. Firstly Zonta picking up 3rd and the first podium of Arrows under my management. I was very happy when the car crossed the line. Glock is obviously disappointed but he drove really well and we are proud of him.

Secondly the signing of Kovalainen. In my eyes this guy has a great future ahead of him and to have him hear at Arrows/Super Aguri is an honour. We hope his time at the team is a great one with his role for next season being thought about.
BAR
Satisfied with Giancarlo's 7th place today. We're hoping to score points regularly now.
Toyota

Dismal 2 races for us at toyota..where has our pace gone?..With the upcoming test the team will be bringing in a load of new parts, which will hopefully get us back on track...
