Jos Verstappen tops the timesheets
In friday free practice Ferrari's Jos Verstappen was the man with the best timing. In a session that started on a wet track, he went out to the right time as a dry line appeared at the end of the session. No other driver was able to beat his time of 1:22.210s. His teammate Felipe Massa only got 20th with almost 2s back. A very good performance was shown by the two BARs who both are in the top 10. Timo Glock also showed his skills in wet conditions with 4th place. The Williams' both struggled down in 15th and 17th place. The man with the biggest problems today was Gianmaria Bruni in last place, with a gap of 1s to 21st.

M. Schumacher on pole - Alonso crashes

A disappointing result for Fernando Alonso, after crashing in Brooklands on his second run, he wasn't able to improve in the remaining time and will start down in 16th place tomorrow.

British Grand Prix Race Broadcast - Part 1/3
Hello and welcome at Silverstone to the British Grand Prix of the 2005 Formula 1 season. In yesterdays qualifying Michael Schumacher took his first pole position this season, and he now will for sure try to convert it in his second win in a row. The first row is completed by World Champion Rubens Barrichello. The rain clouds that have been over the track on friday are all gone, and the weather reports all predict a dry race for today. Lets go to the track, as the race is about to start now.
All red lights are on
And it's go go go! Schumacher has a good start and can keep first place
Massa has passed Villeneuve and is in 3rd!
Fisichella tries to get past, too!
Heidfeld has been passed by Vettel at the start
Sato at the inside of da Matta
Alonso and Raikkonen side by side
Ralf Schumacher with a bad start has lost a place to Davidson and has to defend against Lotterer now
Heidfeld looses another position to Rosberg
And Lotterer has passed Schumacher!
Villeneuve gets out of the slipstream of Massa and tries to re-overtake him, but he stays in 4th
Webber does it better and passes his teammate Kubica
Who has Vettel right behind him now
Alonso uses the slipstream of Sato to get past da Matta
He even wants to pass Sato and Heidfeld now!

Fisichella after his stop now in 14th behind Raikkonen
One lap later da Matta now wants to overtake the next McLaren
And he does again!
Now he even wants to pass Kubica on the start-finish straight!
But this time he has no success
Next chance down the Hangar straight, and Rosberg side by side with Vettel!

Sato and Alonso both want to take the chance to pass Vettel, too

DOTD: Many drivers with a good performance today, but there can only be one. The award goes to Jacques Villeneuve, fastest lap and a third place today, but who knows what would have been possible without his off at the beginning of the race.
