Toyota Statement

Another good race for us,its always great 2 have to cars finish in the points..On another note we at toyota are dissapointed that jacques has decided to sign for williams next year..showing a distinct lack of loyalty to our team!
Hey Twigster, check your PMs. Also, if u don´t like the idea, add me to the waiting list ^^
Not good enough from both Arrows drivers. Trulli just went backwards and Wilson didnt go anywhere. Not good enough. Although out 1 lap pace is good which is one positive comment.

For the next race Zonta will replace Wilson. He deserves a chance with Wilson not doing anything
Toyota tops Jerez Test Session
Da Matta set the fastest lap time at the most recent mid-season test season ahead of the British Grand Prix at the Jerez circuit in Spain. The Brazilian put in a lap time around one tenth quicker than the Ferrari of Schumacher. Villenueve ended the session third whilst Doornbos put in the fourth quickest time. Unfortunately none of the teams were able to find much performance in the almost perfect track conditions.

:';) The irony. BAR is further up the field after the test session, while we didn't even participate!
8th for Trulli!! I know its only practice but wow great result :)
Just when I thought Mclaren couldn't get worse....I'm proven wrong.

It's all going all right! We still want to get some race wins though ...

If you are racing, keep on racing and get some points!

Raikkonen On Pole At Silverstone
Kimi Raikkonen will be starting the British Grand Prix from pole position after a rain affected qualifying meant that those who went out earliest in the session enjoyed the best conditions. This is Raikkonen's first pole position since the Italian Grand Prix last season and it also replicates the result in Pre-Season testing when Kimi set the fastest time around the Silverstone Circuit in similarly wet conditions. Also Barrichellos luck continued as he took second on the grid whilst his closest rivals struggled with Schumacher starting the race in 12th and Montoya from last place. Of course the wet conditions created a slightly mixed up grid with Trulli in 5th place with his newly promoted team mate Zonta in 11th, Andre Lotterer will start the race 7th whilst Villenueve was caught out by the conditions and could only manage 17th.

Mclaren Statement

Qualifying was a little bit better for us. Nando managed the top 10 and Jenson managed 13th. We could push for points from there if we get lucky.

That went well again. Please be a wet race! If its dry we will just go backwards. Still once again good job from Trulli and very well done to Zonta. Overall we are happy but not celebrating just yet
Jordan Statement

Brilliant qualifying from Kimi and André, pole position and p7, this is just unbelievable. I hope we'll have the same conditions and speed in race.

2004 British Grand Prix Race Day
Hello and welcome to the coverage of the 2004 British Grand Prix live from the legendary Silverstone Circuit. Yesterday saw a surprise result as Kimi Raikkonen put his Jordan on pole position ahead of current championship leader Rubens Barrichello who will be looking to take full advantage of his nearest rivals poor grid slots. Weather wise the track is still wet but with rain not expected in the first few laps the entire field is starting on dry tyres.Anyway onto the race start the five lights are on...

And the race is underway

Raikkonen holds the lead through copse

But Barrichello manages to get alongside down the hanger straight...

And he moves into the lead

Heidfeld has already gotten past the Arrow's of Trulli

Meanwhile Coulthard runs wide through turn 1

He rejoins just ahead of Montoya

Villenueve is still in 17th as Barrichello sets the fastest lap of the race

McNish is the next driver looking to overtake Trulli as he has a look going into Stowe

But he still right behind the Italian going into Vale

And the two make contact! McNish carries on as Trulli takes a trip across the grass

He rejoins just ahead of his team mate Zonta...

...who he immediately looks to pass

But Zonta has the inside line going into Bridge

And as a result Fisichella also passes his fellow Italian

Montoya still can't find a way past Coulthard

But he gets a good run out of Chapel

And he gains the position

Schumacher has climb to 9th in the opening few laps and is stuck behind Lotterer

Whilst out the front Barrichello is storming away...

...as is shown when he sets another fastest lap

Verstappen has run slightly wide in turn 1 which has allowed Heidfeld to pinch 3rd place

Meanwhile Leinders, on his race debut for BAR, has had an off some where and is running last...

As has Da Matta who has dropped to 7th as the dry line is starting to appearand now he, Lotterer and Schumacher are three abreast going into the Abbey chicane

And the Brazilian loses out the both drivers

We are riding onboard with Zonta as Barrichello goes quicker still

Whilst Coulthard carries too much speed into Maggotts and spins across the track

Luckily he can continue, although unsurprisingly he is now last again

Raikkonen, still running in 2nd place, is unable to match the pace of both the Williams and Barrichello

As we look at the battle for 19th between Montoya and Davidson you can now clearly see the dry line forming

Sato is squabbling with Button on 17th

And he takes the position

Meanwhile Button's team mate is running up in 10th place

Barrichello sets, another, fastest lap

Only for Schumacher to set a quicker one a few moments later

I don't see this ending well...

and unsurprisingly in doesn't, webber is left pointing the wrong way whilst Schumacher continues on like nothing has happened

The Aussie has to wait for the vast majority of the field to pass before continuing, and in the meantime Barrichello has gone even quicker, the track is definately improving

Davidson is the next off as he runs wide at Priory but he only drops one position

Barrichello and Schumacher are continuing to trade fastest lap

Da Matta is looking to regain 7th from Lotterer

And he is successful

There's a train forming behind Lotterer consisting of Alonso, Glock and Zonta

And Heidfeld is too fast through Copse and slides across the track

But he manages to kill the slide before the barrier does it for him and he rejoins in 6th

And McNish joins in with Heidfelds drifting as he clips the barrier at club but he continues in 4th place

That's a very slow moving Sauber

And he transmission failure makes Glock our first retirement of the day

Time for a good ol' Trulli train this time consisting of Villenueve, De la Rosa and Sato

But it all ends in tears as Trulli and Villenueve make contact at the Abbey chicane

Things have all gone pear shaped for Jarno so far today

Now that the race appears to be settling down a bit here are the current standings

And Barrichello's off!

The replay shows he was too brave going into Priory and he just drove straight into the gravel

He manages to get going again but both Raikkonen and Verstappen have passed him

Alonso is currently running in the final points paying position

Barrichello meanwhile looks determined to make amends for his error

And he is looking down the inside of Verstappen going into Stowe

And he makes the pass

By the looks of it the dry line is disappearing rapidly and Coulthard is the first to blink

But soon the pitlane is filled with activity as all the teams react to the change in condition

In the chaos Fisichella has quietly snuck up into 9th place

Meanwhile Montoya is looking to pass Button in Abbey

And he goes through

Kimi has held the lead through the pitstops, could this be his day?

Lotterer and Trulli are side by side going into Stowe

He Trulli goes through

And there's contact between Sato and De la Rosa in Becketts

That means the pair will have to stop again

Fisichella is off the road at turn 1

Which allows Zonta to slide past to take 9th

And Montoya to take 10th

And Barrichello's off again!

It looks like he did the exact same as Coulthard by taking too much speed through Maggotts

He rejoins 18th

Button is looking fiery as he challenges Fisichella for 10th

Not this time

Time for some standings

That doesn't look good for Pedro

And a loose wheels spells the end for him

Now in the sole remaining Minardi, Davidson is running in a lowly 19th

That looks like rain to me

And Fisichella is the first victim of the changing conditions as he runs wide coming out of Maggots..

And he comes pretty close to wiping out Button

He rejoins 14th

Giancarlos team mate is now off the road as well...

Looks like Lotterer is too blame for that

There appears to be no team orders at Ferrari as the red duo are fighting hard of 2nd place

But Verstappen won't fold that easily

Montoya has quitely snuck his way up into 9th

And in the meantime Schumacher has successfully passed his team mate for 2nd

Raikkonen is still leading the race, can he hold off Schumacher for the next 21 laps

The yellow flags are out as Zonta pits from 6th

And that probably explains it

Seems to have been caused by a failed overtake from Barrichello

The championship leader continues in 15th

Whilst Fisichella continues in 16th

Raikkonen is into the pitlane for what should be the final time...

And he is followed in by Schumacher

The pair rejoin in 1st and 2nd, Kimi is just 19 laps from pulling off something special...

And another pair of drivers are off in the Abbey gravel trap

This time it's Trulli and Sato

Another failed overtake looks to be the cause

They rejoin 19th and 20th

Lotterer runs wide at Copse

Which promotes Fisichella to 16th

Whilst Verstappen has run wide at Stowe corner...

But he keeps it pointing the right way and in 3rd place

McNish has had a pretty quiet race, but then again it has allowed him to move in 4th

Lotterer will no doubt be moving out the way pretty sharpish as his team mate comes to lap him

Meanwhile Zonta is currently in 8th with no need to pit again, could he spring a surpise on his return to racing...

And Alonso is also currently in the points for McLaren as well

Leinders has run wide at Stowe which allows Villenueve to move up a place

And we can really see how bad the spray is now

And it looks like Alonso has been off the road somewhere as Zonta now occupies 7th

It would take a miracle for Barrichello to add to his points tally now...

Meanwhile Da Matta has got past McNish

With just 9 laps to go here are the current standings

Button is just outside the points in 9th place

Just eight laps to go now for Raikkonen

But things might be about to get very interesting for the Fin as Schumacher is closing fast

But Villenueve is off the road at Bridge...

...and he spins across the road...

...and there's a big crash! Leinders is out on the spot!

Not a great way to end your debut race

Villenueve meanwhile can continue

And Fisichella is in the wrong place at the wrong time and he loses his front wing on the remains of Leinder's front wing

And whats going on here?

Turns out Alonso wasn't fueled to the end, he'll be very, very annoyed after that

But thankfully for McLaren Button is now in the points instead

Just five to go and 1.3 second separates the top two, just to think a year ago this would've been a vital battle for the championship...

Meanwhile Zonta is in 6th place, that would be a great result for the Arrows squad who only joined the grid in Sepang

Schumacher has closed the gap slightly, this is going to be close...

Meanwhile Montoya looks to be another driver who was running low on fuel

The gap is now 1.2 with 2 to go...

And they are visibly closer as the round Luffield for the penulminate time

Just one to go now, can Kimi hold off Michael?

They are closer going through Club

But Schumacher is too far back to make a move in Abbey, it's now Raikkonens race to lose

And the pair exit Luffield for the final time

And Kimi Raikkonen has won the British Grand Prix!!!

Schumacher finishes just 0.4 second behind, one more lap and he'd probably have been the one on the top step...

Further back Verstappen completes the podium...

And Zonta brings his Arrows home in the points on his racing debut for the team

Irritated that Alonso wasn't fueled to the end but atleast we finally got a point with Jenson Button.

It would have been a 4th and 6th if it wasn't for MS crap driving.

Arrows Statement

Zonta!!!! Points!!!! As you can tell we here at Arrows are ecstatic. Im so glad the decision to drop Wilson for Zonta has worked. I now need to consider offering him a new contract. Trulli was not good enough at all. Spent more time in the gravel traps than on the track. But Zonta made up for it.
