2004 Brazilian Grand Prix Race Coverage
Welcome to the final race of the 2004 formula 1 world championship,Yesterday saw montoya take the pole from schumacher,With both titles already won,the drivers will be looking to put on a show in the last race of the season.So lets go down to the track for the race
The 5 lights are on..
And we are go,go,go in interlagos,Montoya makes a great start as schumi falters to 4th behind the fast starting mcnish and da matta
Webber Overtakes Raikkonen for 6th
Meanwhile Da Matta passes Mcnish for 2nd..And in the background,Heidfeld overtakes Raikkonen for 7th and his teammate Glock does the same to Barrichello for 9th
Montoya sets the fastest lap
Glock continues his early charge by passing Raikkonen for 8th
And Barrichello also passes Raikkonen for 9th,Which hinders his exit and Verstappen is also through,a bad few laps for Kimi
Meanwhile Da matta sets the fastest lap and is homing in on Montoya
Battle for 11th as Zonta puts a pass on Raikkonen and makes it through
De la Rosas car is on fire!He won't be going much furthur and retires with engine problems
Meanwhile at the front Da matta is lining up Montoya for the lead
Montoya puts the squeeze on!
But Da matta takes the lead with a ballsy manoever!
And Schumacher passes Mcnish for 3rd,Which in turn gives Villeneuve a run and he makes the move for 4th
At the front the new race leader sets the fastest lap
Lets take a look at the standings after 10 Laps
Fisichella having a dismal day in last place but looks to be carrying a heavy fuel load along with Sato whos just in front
Montoya outbrakes himself into the hairpin!
He's on the grass!and rejoins 4th no doubt angering the columbian
Montoyas error leads to Mcnish getting a run down the pit straight,he's having a look into turn 1
And Mcnish makes it stick,Great Move by the scot!
Zonta is the first driver to pit,with the race leader Da matta also in
Lets take a look at the standings after 20 Laps
Villeneuve,Mcnish,Montoya and Verstappen and Leinders are all in for there first stops
Whats this,Webbers spun!
Looks like he ran wide at turn 6,dissapointing for the aussie who was running 2nd,he rejoins in last place
Schumacher is in from the lead for his first stop
Montoyas on fire!!rotten luck for the columbian an oil leak ends his day
So at the front its a sauber 1-2 with both drivers yet to stop
Glock pits from 3rd
Villeneuve has a run at Schumacher,and passes the german with ease
Barrichellos in for his first stop so is Lotterer,And race leader Heidfeld is in as well
Raikkonen now pits for his first stop from the lead,a long first stint from the finn
Disaster for Mcnish!he retires with throttle problems

Lotterer passes Fisichella for 10th..the one stop strategy doesn't seem to be working for the italian
Sato and Fisichella make there one and only stop

Oh nooooo..Da matta has stopped out on track.!!.He looks like he is out of the race!!What a horrific couple of laps for the toyota team!
It looks like a transmission failure has done in the brazilian!
Vileneuve managed to get back to the pits and fix his problem and he rejoins in 7th place
And almost instantly on his fresh tyres displaces Raikkonen for 6th
What's this,a smokey Renault
And a water leak ends DC's race
With 10 laps to go lets take a look at the standings

Looks like he ran wide at the same corner which claimed webber earlier in the race,he rejoins last
With 5 to go Schumacher has a comfortable lead over Heidfled,Can the german win his 3rd race for the season?
And Schumacher is on his way up the hill for the final time

We at toyota are absolutely gutted today after what should have been a 1-2 finish..At least Jacques salvaged some points for us with 6th
However we have had a great year with our first victory,and a solid 3rd place finish in the contstructors standings

We are happy with Micheal's win here in Brasil, also Jos managed to gain some places from his bad starting position. We are set on 2005 now and are going to make that a great year!

Thank god that season is over with. Awful.
And the season is finally over Thanks to everyone who's help out in my first season in running this and whilst the pace may have dwindled a bit towards the end of the season, I hope I managed to keep things ticking along at a reasonable pace. Anyway the 2005 thread will be up soonish, just need to update it with the new lineups and rules
