Well, it was greatly expected of course. Winning this race is priority in the championship and would be one goal won for us, if it's possible. Fingers crossed that our car keeps going the whole race.
the race has been done, photographed and such, however work means that you will have to keep your excitement about the result in for a little bit longer, possibly til tomorrow, sorry about that guys! ;-)

Round 7 Belgium - Race

Welcome back to this spa-francorchamps circuit where yesterday you saw Laurens Vanthoor take pole position in a stunning lap. The weather is perfect once again so lets get down to the track and get this race underway!

And we have 1 light, 2 light, 3, 4, 5... Go! Go! Go!

We are onboard with Ward of Ireland of the start line, he gets a good start jumping infront of Tafuro into 6th. Vanthoor's start going into the first corner doesnt look too clever...

Ward's start just gets better and better as he take Vukcevic down the inside to turn 1!

Confirmation of what looked to be at turn 1 there, Copeman has jumped Vanthoor to put USA into first! Top 5: Copeman, Vanthoor, Maverick, Ward, Vukcevic.

They are 3 wide coming down the back straight too turn 5, Vukcevic, Tafuro and Hunsley all fighting for 5th, someone has to lose out on this...

Its ends up being Tafuro. He loses a place to Hunsley whilst Vukcevic stays 5th. 7th it is for the italian.

Vanthoor is all over the back of Copeman, clearly trying to show his qualifying pace.

He has a look down the straight towards the bus stop...

Nothing doing there for the belgian. Maverick looks ready to mop up any mistakes.

Carreiro receives a tap from madagascan Zakes, and locks up. He keeps his position but that won't help him to chase down Jantsher.

Fastest lap time for USA as Copeman takes the first fastest lap, on the first lap ;). Massive line of cars very close together behind Razak.

Vanthoor and Copeman going two wide, one at a time lads!

De Boer, who had manages to gain a few places off the start finish line gets it all wrong at Eau Rouge, the dutchman remains on the track though.

But has both Urazel and Heart all over him! He keeps his 20th place however, Heart stays in 21st and Urazel at the back.

Horvarth drives away from the squabbling pair of Paddock and Oakley. Looks like a popular place to be trying to overtake, does Blanchimont. Paddock keeps his place however.

Copeman unsurprisingly sets his 2nd fastest lap, on the second lap...

Oooh careful. Vanthoor locks up his wheels at turn 8 trying to turn the screw on Copeman.

Once again having a look, once again nothing doing.

Eau Rouge claims another victim, this time the malaysian Razak. He too keeps his car on the tarmac though.

This mistake means that he has a few other drivers all over his back. He keeps his 10th place, but the fighting means that Jantsher takes 11th from Antunis.

Zakes is also now all over Antunis trying to improve on his 13th place.

Vanthoor is beginning to reel Copeman in again.

Whilst Ward is also doing the same too Maverick. No escape for the swiss driver.

Tafuro trys to get past Vukcevic again after managing to slip past Hunsley easily.

That door was well and truely closed. Tafuro will have to try harder.

It's Mavericks turn at the fastest lap baton. He's beginning to ease away from Ward and gain on the fighting leaders. A dark horse here perhaps?

Fight at the back of the pack as Urazel takes a sneaky look past Heart. Doesnt gain any places though.

McGregor looking to overtake his way into the points past greek Xanthis.

Vanthoor is basically sitting in the same car as Copeman there! How close can he get!

Carreiro however locks up into the same first corner. He slips down a few places from 14th, not good for the portugal driver.

McGregor still going for Xanthis, although Razak looks like he's closing them both here.

Urazel seems to be in a very feisty mood, as he takes another stab at Heart. And fails again.

Meanwhile just infront of him, De Boer seems to have picked up and few tips, looking for a way past Yoshimoto.

Here we have the standings after 10 laps:

Whilst in the background you see Carreiro trying to fend of Oakley. Not going well for him today.

Oakley is having a look...

Annnnnnd we will interrupt the footage for a quick commercial break, please join us back soon for part 2 ;)

Round 7 Belgium - Race Part 2

And welcome back to the coverage! good to see you have stayed with us ;)

We come back to the action just in time to see Oakley complete his sweeping move to take 17th off of Carreiro. Good stuff in the english car there.

Oh dear, whats this! Copeman has run wide going into the final chicane, and Vanthoor is through! The belgian takes the lead among massive cheers down the start/finish straight.

Already Vanthoor has a little gap opened up, and Maverick isn't too far off from Copeman, maybe a double overtake?

We switch to the back, as Urazel is still attempting to get round a very stubborn Heart. He doesn't manage it. AGAIN!

Eau Rouge decides to punish Urazel for all the failed overtakes and pulls the turkish driver very far back from Heart. Some respite in that battle there.

However at the front, Vanthoor isn't really managing that sprint-away he was hoping for really...

It's error number 4 at the set of corners 2/3/4. Heart this time, and he falls straight back into the grasp of Urazel. Can he finally get passed? The answer is once again, no he can not.

Antunis seems to want to gain back that position Jantsher stole earlier in the race.

The pit-stops begin! Maverick is the first driver to dive in for fuel, from 3rd place.

Big mistake by Horvarth there! He has gone wide at turn 14 and the gravel has taken him straight into the barrier. First retiree of the race.

Big movement for these drivers here! Hunsley has managed to get himself ahead of Ward in the pits, he will be chuffed with his engineer there! A yet-to-pit De Boer and Yoshimoto sit between them. Yoshimoto has a look at Hunsley, but wisely opts out going into Eau Rouge

FINALLY! It may have taken the pitstops to do it but Urazel has finally made his way passed Heart. Good out-lap by the turkish driver.

2 laps after the first stopper, Vanthoor pits from the lead... Copeman takes back the reigns at the front.

He Comes out the pits into 7th, quick stop from the belgian team.

McGregor has somehow worked his way to 3rd, but has yet to stop and does so that lap.

Incidently the whole top 6 pit in one go! Copeman from 1st, then Vukcevic, McGregor, Razak, Jantsher and Antunis all in.

Nothing special in the pits, Vanthoor retakes the lead with a Copeman second.

Whilst Ward has fallen a little back, splitting the fight up between Tafuro and Vukcevic

One less fight for Urazel to have, he makes his way passed Yoshimoto in the pits, good fast laps by him, he clearly has some pace.

Paddock finds himself out of his pace range in 3rd place with Maverick harrassing him. He soon pits to make that every driver pitted once.

Tafuro is clearly in no mood to hang about, he takes both Ward and Vukcevic in one lap, solid driving from the italian!

Having enjoyed 3rd for a little, Paddock finds himself immediately under pressure out the pits from Zakes.

Standings with all first pit stops completed:

Vukcevic has no interest in giving that 5th place up so easily, however he soon learns Blanchimont is no place to be overtaking today.

Copeman has opened himself quite a good gap back to Maverick, who is not that far ahead of Hunsley.

Vukcevic is still looking! But a diving across Tafuro blocks his way into 5th.

Zakes is so close you can barely see him! Quiet race from Stein as he looks on.

Although saying that a mistake from Zakes puts s=Stein right on his tail! Zakes keeps 14th for now.

Vanthoor is beginning to leave Copeman behind, oh dear...

Major error from Hunsley! He has spun the car in turn 5/6 and throws away his 4th place to the nearest driver! Although not a smart piece of parking there as all the passing cars have to slow down to make it through...

He gets going again down in 21st place, also known as last. The new livery not having the best of start there...

And thats part two done there! We leave you once again for a break, we like breaks we do ;)
The coverage is really good i am enjoying it. Just checking in because i simply could not resist seeing how it was going. My race has plenty of room for improvement so we will see what happens but i cannot complain when i have spent no points
2nd is very good at the moment considering how many points I havent spent this weekend.

Round 7 Belgium - Race Part 3

And welcome back once again! If you are still here you are either enjoying this race or you have a vested interest, im thinking the latter ;)

Ok sorry the race, and we go back down to Spa as Oakley tries to overtake Stein, yet another driving thinking Blanchimont is the place to do so.

Urazel has moved onto his next target, and unfortunately for him its De Boer. A lot of attempts but not much success for Urazel.

Although De Boer still finds the time to nearly get past Carreiro at turn 5. The portugal man just seems to be going backwards.

An old battle relived as McGregor attacks Xanthis, this time for one place higher. Unsurprisingly considering his location, he doesnt make it.

Vanthoor is nearly 5 seconds clear and he is cruising infront of his home crowd.

So nearly a collison! Stein gets it all wrong in Eau Rouge and manages to recover in order to try and fight off Oakley. I see a battle down the backstraight ahead...

An Oakley manages it, another fine move down into turn 5 there, up to 14th for him. Behind them De Boer trys the same on Carreiro, with a lot less success.

I hear a loud groan go up around the grandstand... Vanthoor is out! He has got it all wrong going into to turn 12 and has chucked away what looked like an easy win! Disaster for Vanthoor there, he will not be too impressed!

That leaves Copeman to happily take the lead in this race with 21 laps left... Maverick is in 2nd for Switzerland whilst Tafuro claims the last poduim place at the moment.

McGregor is still keeping the pressure high on Xanthis, regardless of those men waving flags at him!

Oh and that is heartbreaking for Greece! Going into the final chicane Xanthis recieves a tap for McGregor which spins him round, very harsh for Yannis Xanthis there!

Traffic leaves him unable to spin his car back into the right direction until 10th places, outside the points for Greece. They will be angry at the Australian driver!

Copeman has a bigger lead over 2nd place than Vanthoor did, still needs to keep concentrating though as the belgian displayed very well.

Back to one of the regular fights of this race, Vukcevic really isnt happy to leave Tafuro be, especially with a podium up for grabs. It really will not work their though...

But none of this seems to stop Urazel, who is trying everything to get Turkey higher up the standings. He really is trying hard.

Maybe Xanthis is still frustrated by what could have been. Well he certainly seems it, locking up into the first corner.

Big collision! Big big collision and such an important one too! Tafuro looses it completely going into turn 5 and skids across the grass. However his car skids straight back onto track and straight into the path of Vukcevic! Both drivers out of this race, losing a big chance at some big points! Vukcevic seems very very frustrated with this whole situation!

This leaves Ward to sweep through and pick up 3rd place for Ireland. He's managed to claw his way back after a poor pitstop.

It seems Carreiro has finally woken up! Fed up with going backwards, the portugese driver launches an attack on Stein in front of him. I doesn't work though.

Xanthis nearly throws away his new found points scoring position at Eau Rouge. Luckily for the greek, he's in plenty of clean air to keep his position

Not without a little bit of pressure from Paddock though, who doesnt want to lose the chance of points too easily.

Pretty much a quiet race for John Maverick, and at the present moment 2nd place looks pretty much guarenteed. A very large gap opened up between him and Ward.

And once again we have the standings! This is how the drivers are lined up before they make their final stops of the afternoon:

Razak will be glad the 2nd window opens soon. He locks up going into corner 1, that could well have flatspotted a tire. He is doing well in 5th though.

In 3rd place Ward is being kept under pressure by McGregor. Any slip and the australian will be on him in a flash. The gap is only around 2 seconds.

Drivers from 12th-17th share a small section of track: Stein, Carreiro, De Boer, Urazel, Yoshimoto and Heart.

Paddock is chasing the points a little too hard perhaps as he locks up going into the final chicane. Any loss of time really wont help him.

And Oakley gets the 2nd round of pitstops under way, 15 laps left for everyone else to get their pit in.

Copeman is in! The race leader pits the next lap. He obviously trusts the gap to 2nd is big enough to give him leisure when pitting.

It definately is at the moment. Copeman takes 2nd place in front of Mcgregor as Maverick has also pitted. Its looking very good for the american.

It may be the pit window, but Jantsher has somehow crept his way into 4th! He is still to pit however, so he's unlikely to stay there.

McGregor is really going at Copeman at the moment, as the american trys to get up to speed on new tires and a fuller tank. McGregor really doesnt want to give him that time.

The australian soon submits into the pits, giving Copeman a bit more of a break to get himself up to speed. McGregor gives up his 3rd place.

It's close! its very close in that pit lane, 3rd and 4th within touching distance of eachother. If only for one slightly quicker pit stop, it could have been a lot different!

However the situation doesnt turn out too great for McGregor who find Urazel and Yoshimoto inbetween him and Ward. Urazel finds himself on the recieving end of some overtaking attempts this time!

A quick peak right at the back, Hunsley is having a seriously lonely drive out there...

And we have yet another commercial break for you guys! Yup you heard right, break number 3 coming right up ;)
Round 7 Belgium - Race Part 4

Sorry about all the breaks guys, but i need to break up my rather extensive coverage, some may say over-extensive ;)

Back to the Belgian hilly forest we go, just in time to see McGregor attempt to get past Yoshimoto. Not too much worry for McGregor though, Yoshimoto is still to pit.

Another set of quick pitstops needed! Yoshimoto and Urazel are going to be racing in the pits.

Carreiro is yet to get past Stein, although the pair have dropped De Boer by quick a distance.

Now for some post-pitstop standings for you viewers to enjoy, ontop of some enjoyable onboard shots of Maverick:

From the looks of that it seems Yoshimoto did make it past Urazel in the pits, good work there from the Japan crew. The pair have held up McGregor though, and Ward now has a bit of fresh air to enjoy, well apart from the fumes of 18 fast single seaters...

Oh dear... Make the 17 fast single seaters. Stein has folded to the pressure from Carreiro and careered straight into the same tire barrier as Vanthoor, disappointing way to end the day for the german.

Back to checking gaps, Maverick has really cemented this 2nd place in. Good drive by the swiss.

Whilst Razak also looks to be building over Jantsher, who has done well to work his way to 6th here.

Urazel on the other hand hasn't seemed to have learned where to overtake as he tries to get his place back from Yoshimoto. Not a great day for Turkey.

One driver who has really impressed however is Copeman. He has 9 laps left to keep the car on the track, and with an 11 second lead, thats all he needs to do.

As if to confirm what is turning out to be a miserable day for Hunsley, he locks up into turn 8. Keeps his car out the gravel though, thats always a good thing.

Disappointment for Japan as Yoshimoto runs his car wide into 5, both Urazel and Heart are let through. 2nd to last it is for Yoshimoto at the moment.

Maybe there is a twist left in this race? McGregor has found his way right up on the back of the Ireland car. Can he snatch a podium from under Ward's nose?

Hunsley is revelling in the new found challenge of a very close Japanese car, as he trys everything to make his day better.

Big Big deja vu here, this is massively reminiscent of Tafuro earlier in this race, and from the same position! Ward has lost it in turn 5, skidded across the same patch and grass and he has tired walled it. Sorry end to what looked like a very promising day for Will Ward.

And he caught McGregor on the way through! Whilst its not race ending for the australian, a pit stop this late in the race surely gives him no chance of any points here! Terrible luck for McGregor in this, caught much in the same way as Vukcevic was! Karma for the Xanthis spin maybe?

With just 4 laps to go, Razak flashes his way into 3rd place whilst McGregor trundles back to the pits for a new front wing, very sorry looking car there.

A little further back, Hunsley is once again attacking Yoshimoto, still to no avail however.

McGregor pulls out the pits in 16th place. He must be thinking what could have been here...

Hunsley is really going for Yoshimoto now...

Razak maintaining his distance from Jantsher. These two drivers must be very please with how things are turning out today.

It would be very wrong for this race to have the last two laps uneventful, and the track does not disappoint! Yoshimoto spins it at the famous old turn 5/6. He however manages to keep to car out of another vehicle or a barrier.

That spin leaves him behind Hunsley, although he does manage to recover in time to be ahead of McGregor. The green car fills his wingmirrors.

Naturally Urazel tries to chip in with an overtake. These drivers do not learn do they? Do not overtake there, it does not work!

Entering the last sector, Copeman has a massive lead. It would need a miracle to stop him now, although you cant say its never happened...

He rounds the final corner for the last time today...

Chris Copeman wins the Belgian Grand Prix! Terrific drive from the american. He kept his cool and kept the car on the track whilst others around him were finding barriers.

John Maverick of Switzerland comes in in 2nd place. He too had a terrific drive today and didn't crack under pressure.

Taking the final podium step is Koto Razak of Malaysia. He will be very pleased with that result after starting down in 3rd.

4th goes to Jantsher, 5th Antunis, 6th Xanthis, 7th Paddock and completing the point is Zakes in 8th. One of the drives of the day for Jantscher, starting in 13th, finishing 4th, brilliant job by the austrian.

So CONGRATULATIONS to Chris Copeman on his 2nd win!

I hope you enjoyed my rather long and maybe a little painful (;)) coverage, but i gave you the race did i not? ;)

Full results and fastest lap will follow soon!

Thank you and Good night!
