TURKEY STATEMENT

after a disasterous weekend in USA, this qualifying result is wonderful for us. may be we could take the pole but starting at the first line is always important. now we are much more optimistic for the race and we hope to score a podium finish in canada.

Mid pack is all we expected from this race. We are still working on our reliability issues.

I was not really thinking a video review as such as like say a thirty second clip of the start etc? With how many times the race is crashing on me it would probably take less time than running it;) Doing my best guys, even using a soothing voice to stop it crashing. Since the earlier races have crashed out, some people have been very lucky they just dont know it ;)

After a few technical difficulties the GPG Nations Cup is ready to provide us its latest offering, the round 4 race at Montreal Canada. After a very close qualifying where all the drivers were within 1.3 seconds of each other, then it is anyone’s guess who will be coming home with points. Tafuro will be hoping to turn that pole into a victory while Heart will be looking to make an impact in his home gp.

The drivers are all lined up

The view from Heart’s car.

They are off and a great jump by Urazel. He is on the outside into the first corner but will hold it into the second.
He takes the lead. While Razak gains two places into 15th

They are scrapping at the back as well. Everyone gets through cleanly.

Tafuro wants that first position back

After a great start for the Belgian, Vanthoor has Maverick on his tail in a fight for third

As well as a few others...

De Boer makes the move on Carreiro

Maverick finds a way past Vanthoor on casino straight

Tafuro still relentless in his pursuit of first

As we cross the line to complete the first lap these are the positions.

Further down the field Ward bullies his way past the Austrian Jantsher

The poor run out of the last chicane from the move leaves Jantsher vunerable.

Xanthis gets past. It looks like its rattled the Austrian as he runs wide out of turn 2.

Falling to 20th

Zakes not making much of an impact

Vukcevic is having a look..

Nothing doing there for the Montenegrin
Down in 19th McGregor runs wide into the hairpin

Allowing Jantsher to get through

Tafuro’s tenacity looks to have paid off

Urazel has run it wide giving the Italian an invitation to take first place he happily accepts.

Jantsher has locked up.

He is facing the wrong way with most of his car. Without that front left his race is over though. Horrible day for team Austria

Looking at the replay he was not the only sufferer in this. McGregor loses his front wing on the Austrian car. He is still running but that’s going to damage any chance of points.

Urazel runs wide again under pressure from Maverick. He hangs on though.

Carriero getting defensive against Paddock

Horvath has had a quiet race till now, he has run it wide

We believe that is his race over.. Yes he is not returning to the track, our second retirement today. In the meantime we see McGregor get his wing fixed.

Urazel under constant pressure from Maverick

A fastest lap for Tafuro

The Italian is pulling away from the rest.

Oh no that is Hunsley backwards in the gravel.

He is not the only person taking a trip in the sand. Razak is in there too at turn 6

Germany, England and Ireland all vying for 11th.

Positions after 12 laps

Antunis is having a go at Heart. The Canadian fans would much prefer to see him attacking than defending.

Finally the pressure by Maverick pays off, Urazel runs wide in eerily similar fashion opening the door for Maverick

Tafuro has managed to open quite a gap back to second by now though

Maverick already putting air between him and Urazel

He is safe from Vanthoor and Copeman for now

Tafuro is pushing a bit too hard

He returns to the track safely in first but he doesn’t want to do that anymore
He loses a little time for that excursion at turn 6

Still close between Team Germany, England and Ireland

Heart in 8th. Not much between any of the drivers from 4th to 10th

Tafuro bangs in a fastest lap to make up for his earlier run off.

De Boer is having a look at Ward

Nothing going though
With pit calls going out the standings just before the stops

It is Heart making the first scheduled stop of the day. With Antunis right behind he will be looking to get past since he has been stuck behind the Canadian for a few laps now.

He does it as well

Next it is Urazel from 3rd

Japan’s Yoshimoto fighting with Antunis after rejoining the track

He does not succeed. This is turning out to be a great stop for Antunis
Tafuro pits from first

As does Maverick from 2nd but the gap was too much for him to realistically pass him

Ouch for Maverick. After struggling past Urazel the first time he is going to have to do it all again

Tafuro is tucked in behind Vanthoor and Copeman. Vanthoor is not pitting yet though

Copeman and Zakes make their way into the pits together and Zakes gets the position from Copeman. Copeman will be furious with his pitcrew

Zakes comes out just before Vukcevic.

Out of shot Antunis has out braked himself

He recklessly comes straight back onto the circuit clipping Zakes!

He takes 5th with Zakes left reeling in 6th

Heart is midpack while offscreen Maverick has already made the move on Urazel, unfortunately missed by our crew

The order with almost everyone having taken their stop.

Only Vanthoor left to pit but he has Tafuro right on him
Felipe Antunis was one of the big winners in the pittstops. It will be interesting to see when and where Vanthoor comes out when he does pit. With so much action going on the Nations Cup is going to take a short break. We will be back shortly

I'm very disappointed, that I got hold of from the Turkish car that long. It seems that I had the speed to fight for a win, but now this seems to be impossible without Paolo making another big mistake in front.

Welcome back to part 2 of the Nations Cup coming to you from Montreal Canada. And we have a real humdinger on our hands. When we left we had Vanthoor yet to pit in first. Tafuro right on his tail though. Plenty of offs by drivers. There is still a great chance for the runners left to get into the points. Let’s rejoin the action
Tafuro is not messing around. Down casino straight into the final chicane he makes a move

And makes it stick good work by the Italian.

McGregor will be happy to be back into the mix after his earlier woes involving Jansther

So here are the standings

O and what’s this. Oakley is forced into a mistake by Ward who easily passes

Now Oakley under pressure from Xanthis and Razak

Oakley is hanging on.

Another pit stop for McGregor, maybe his last of the day. We will have to wait and see how it pans out.

Now Tafuro has some clear air he is showing how much Vanthoor was holding him up

Urazel not giving up on Maverick yet

Vanthoor finally pits, he started to really look off the pace hopefully it has not damaged his chances too much

He comes out in tenth just behind Heart and in front of Ward

The standings now everyone has definitely done a pit stop, Japan holding onto that 8th spot. Heart will be looking to sneak some points for the home fans.

Vanthoor is off the pace coming out of the pits. Looks like he is fuelled to the end

That doesn’t mean running wide is advisable.

Ward and Oakley through

Looking at the replays it looks like it was not a Vanthoor driving error. Ward mistimed his braking zone and clipped the Belgian.

Not seen much of Hunsley since his spin but he is having a look at De Boer

Vanthoor has fallen back into Xanthis’ clutches. The Greek is through into the final chicane with a strong manoeuvre. Vanthoor just has no pace on such a heavy fuel load.

How many times we seen this. A poor run out of the final chicane, this time its Razak past Vanthoor.

Paddock is holding off Stein into turn 1 and 2 as a result of what happened just ahead

Paddock now having a go at Vanthoor. It is only a matter of time till he passes.

On the very next lap Vanthoor is having another moment which gives Paddock the chance and he has taken it into turn one.

The race seems to have gone all wrong for Vanthoor. Locking up now before Stein finds his way through

There has been plenty of action in this second part, sadly for Team Belgium it is against them.
And it is not getting any better. De Boer has a look before yet another mistake by Vanthoor sees the Dutchman through.

It also allows Hunsley and Carreiro through. From first to last for Vanthoor

Antunis has closed the gap on Urazel who is sitting in 3rd

While Vukcevic is closing in on Zakes who is getting defensive The second stint of stops has started as well.

Tafuro is in early this time and rejoins safely.

After the battle in the first set of pit stops between Antunis and Zakes it looks like Zakes has got his revenge.

Yet again Vanthoor goes off.

Safe stop for Maverick

Confirmation that Tafuro has regained his first position

A great stop for the USA sees Copeman into 4th place. Looks like the USA pitcrew got a warning from the boss after last time

Vukcevic rejoins the circuit a safe 8th.

McGregor pits again. Three stops and it is fair to say this is just research now for Team Australia

Urazel is in

Maverick has nothing to worry about this time he retakes second

Urazel ends up rejoining just before Copeman which after the pit stops should see him regain the final podium spot for now

McGregor’s miserable race takes another turn for the worse. He spins off at turn one

The Wall of Champions strikes. Yoshimoto has lost his front right and joins a long list of men who have in the Quebec wall.

He has stopped right on the racing line. That is just silly by Yoshimoto

These are the standings after what we believe are all the pit stops.

McGregor has lost it into the WoC as well. Least it is not a long walk back into the garage.

He has disappointingly done what Yoshimoto did and left it on the racing line. I guess he wanted to complete one last lap

It gives Vukcevic a chance but not quite enough room to make a pass

Heart is holding onto 8th with Ward right behind him

You would have thought Tafuro would have learned from earlier but he has run off the road again.

He gets away with it again though. Lucky escape

Standings with 10 laps remaining

Zakes and Vukcevic will be looking to put a move on Copeman and Antunis respectively

While Ward is looking to sneak into the points

De Boer spins into turn 1. It is pretty inconsequential since his chance of points is long gone already

Vukcevic just cannot seem to do anything this close to Antunis

The cameras have missed it! Ward has got past Heart for the last point place. The home fans will be majorly disappointed.

He is pulling away as well

Tafuro is comfortably ahead even after going off

As is Maverick for 2nd

Oakley closes on Heart, outside chance of points?

Antunis is being very defensive to hang onto the position. Neither man wants to risk ruining the race entirely though

Final lap for Tafuro

Antunis has a small gap into the final lap

Tafuro takes it! Great result for Team Italy. Pole and the Win, congratulations go to Team Italy in the Montreal Gp.

Then it is Maverick with a solid 2nd If a couple of moments would of gone his way he may of had a chance of beating Tafuro

Urazel holds onto his third. Never in any real danger of finishing below that

Antunis manages to keep Vukcevic at bay although both men finish in the points

The Final Standings

Well that is all we have time for from Montreal. I hope you enjoyed the race and will join us again for Round 5 at Oulton Park

Bad race, nothing else to say on the race.

Good coverage! Only thing I would do different is to place the text per photo under the image instead of above and maybe a 'space' between images to avoid confusion which text belongs to which image. :)

The coverage was awesome, very well done. And, in contrast to MDBSnake, I like it to have the text above the image, think that's a question of personal taste.

The race was very good for me. 2nd place is awesome. It is was I hoped for, although I'm still convinced that I could have won if Uzrael wouldn't have cost me so much time. In the end I was clearly faster than Tafuro. However, congratulations on the win, that was very good driving (apart from that two mistakes).

I figure it is personal taste on the text. I hope in future races that i direct i will try mixing the text up top and bottom depending on the importance of the moment? I was rushing a little to release it since the massive delay i gave everyone. The next race i do i plan to shrink the screens for one. I was thinking bigger text? The reason i didnt put gaps between some screens is because they join but iguess you mean bigger between all of them? I am happy to change how i did it since the main thing for me was to give you guys a race. I spent a lot of time tweaking the helmet positions etc. Question for all of you. Would you prefer the names to be say Tafuro (ITA) etc rather than just Italy? If that can be done of course.
Re: GPG Nations Cup - Round 4 Race Completed

It for sure is a matter of personal taste ;-) Just a constructive criticism, do it how you like best - after all you make the hours of work for it! :)
Screens that join can easily be pasted on each other, but as example of what i mean:

text
image
------------------------(nothing)
text

text
image

then it seems more obvious what text belongs to what image then whats below

text

text

But like i said, you are the RD - do it how it works best for you! I still enjoyed the coverage nevertheless my bad position in the race ;-)
