The race has Finally Finally been won. Very exciting race but this is what i have to say to Oulton Park, :-(F..................................................ck:-(
Welcome back for the round 5 Nations Cup race at Oulton Park. After McGregor showed fantastic pace in qualifying to put the Australian car on pole one wonders if he will cruise away from the field to victory today. Apart from a great time by McGregor the rest of the field were very tightly packed within a second of each other.
So it is down to the start where the drivers wait patiently for the off.

And go and Vanthoor has got a great jump off the start.

It looks like Tafuro is going to attempt to go round the outside of McGregor

And Succeeds

Vanthoor has climbed three places into 12th from the first corner

Oakley going up the inside of Stein

Stein however can carry more speed out of the corner as does Ward but there is no room to make a move

They are scrapping at the back as well

The front four

Into the last corner Zakes makes the move on Xanthis

In the forefront looks like Xanthis is coming back at Zakes while Vanthoor is under pressure from Stein

Nothing there into turn one for Xanthis though

Standings after the first lap

Vukcevic having a peek up the inside of Maverick

Stein is pushing hard he locks up. It just is not a Nations Cup race without England, Ireland and Germany fighting with each other

We are brought a replay, which is Xanthis going off

That car is done, Xanthis the first retirement on lap 3 in the race

During the replay Paddock ran wide and rejoins at the back

Jantsher gets by Carreiro at the final corner

Into turn one Heart makes his way by Copeman

Copeman being slow out of the first corner has in turn slowed Hunsley which Jantsher capitalises on

Hunsley locking up brings Carreiro into the picture

During all this it looks like Maverick must have gone off he is down to 5th place

Nightmare for Oakley, the home favourite has a brake problem

He is able to nurse it back to the pits but he is way back now

Antunis gets by Carreiro

Vanthoor has spun but is safe, that wastes a good start

Carreiro flies into the barrier, which is the end of his race

Yoshimoto has managed to hit the stationary Carreiro and lost part of his front wing. He will need that replaced

Vanthoor passes the wounded Japanese Car

A pretty innocuous spin by Heart

Horvath under pressure locks up

Off screen Heart has had an accident and retires, you would of thought the earlier spin would of counted as a warning to the Canadian
Looks like the pressure has got to Horvath he drops to 11th

Standings after lap 10

Looking to make up for dropping places Horvath has pushed too hard, His race is done at the same place as Carreiro who we are happy to say is ok after his heavy collision with the wall

Just like Yoshimoto did to Carreiro, Hunsley does to Horvath, he will be pitting at the end of the lap to replace the wing

Just as soon as Zakes moves into the last point’s position he bins the car

Another accident at Oulton Park

Stein now occupies 8th which at the moment seems to have a curse on it

McGregor just not showing the pace from Qualifying as Vukcevic is having a look

And he is passed at the last corner

McGregor will not give up the position

Vukcevic hangs on

Ward offers the Irish who have come to see their man hope sitting in 9th with Stein in his sights

Maverick is closing on Urazel

You can see 4th to 7th all within close proximity of each other

Tafuro trying to lap a stubborn Yoshimoto

But succeeds

Standings on lap 20 just before the expected scheduled stops

Join us after the break for more action from the Nations Cup
up to 10th and running nicely...thats brilliant(so far0 especially considering I have not used a boost this time either

We were going well until that crash but hopefully if we can just keep the car out of the barriers we might be able to scrape some points.

Welcome back to the Nations Cup. It is time for the first scheduled stops and with all the accidents I think it is safe to say more drama is coming
Razak is the first too pit from 7th

Disaster for McGregor, water leak, he retires from third

Tafuro has hit the barrier..... He gets away with it though. He did this in Montreal it would appear Tafuro lacks concentration when leading

It means Vukcevic is right up behind the Italian now

Stein pits from 6th

Razak retakes his place comfortably

Tafuro re laps Yoshimoto

Vukcevic pits suddenly it has turned into a possible race leading stop

Maverick also pits

And rejoins safely

Here is Tafuro into the pits on the next lap, it doesn’t give Vukcevic time to get a lap out

De Boer pits also

Vukcevic is coming down the start finish straight

But Tafuro is exiting the pits he keeps the lead even though he regains second since Urazel is last to pit

De Boer rejoins just behind Maverick

Ward has managed to get by Stein from his pit stop

As Urazel pits all eyes are on Maverick, has either done enough for 3rd position

Urazel is exiting the pits but where is Maverick

He comes out just ahead that was tight

Standings after the pit stops

After a great pit stop the Irish car has fallen foul of an electrical problem

He is not the only one Urazel has a throttle problem and Maverick moves into third

De Boer passes Urazel

And Stein gets by Ward, relief for the German

Urzael could not quite make it to the pits he retires

Ward does manage to nurse the car to the pits

This moves Oakley into the points

Vukcevic has the run on Tafuro

And gets by him, we have a new race leader

Tafuro makes a mistake in trying to get back past Vukcevic and its cost him

He is out

A very bold marshal moves Tafuros car as De Boer steams past

Oakley pits from 7th

And rejoins in 10th place

Fastest lap by Vukcevic now he has clean air

Vanthoor applying pressure to Hunsley

Finding a way through for his efforts

Oakley now taking the defensive line against Ward

Antunis now holds the 8th position

The Standings at the half way point and there are only 14 runners left

Yoshimoto makes another pit stop, will they have fuelled him to the end?

Another setback for the home fans, this one is permanent though Oakley is into the wall and out the race

The replays show that somehow Ward missed that tyre off Oakley’s car

Vanthoor does not avoid it though but somehow comes away unscathed

It is time for another break here in the Nations Cup coverage. Will there be anybody left by the end? Tune in after the break to find out.

Damnit! The tension! ;) 3rd seems great but with all those mistakes I cannot believe Team NED will stay safe till the end, knowing our luck!

Same for me here...with the bad luck I had over the last weeks, this 2nd place can't stay alive until the end...

With a second set of scheduled stops and just over a third of the race to go lets rejoin the action to see if there will be any more twists and turns in this race
Demoralising for Hunsley as he is lapped

Razak the first to stop again of the scheduled stoppers, this time from 4th place

Vanthoors luck has run out he is in the tyre wall

And retires from the race

Vukcevic pits from 1st place

Maverick now takes the lead

Immediately runs wide though and clatters the barrier but somehow keeps going

Copeman rejoins from his pit stop in 10th place

Maverick pits

Which leaves De Boer to take the lead

Vukcevic passes Maverick before he rejoins the circuit

Maverick rejoins in 4th place

Ward now into the last points scoring position

Copeman keeps ahead of Jantsher

De Boer is staying out

Paddock pits, quiet race but he has the chance to leapfrog Antunis with a good stop

Ward pits allowing Copeman to get up into 7th

Jantsher pops out ahead of Paddock

De Boer pits, will the extra laps get him past Maverick

Vukcevic regains the lead

Stein pits from 3rd

Maverick manages to keep 2nd place

De Boer rejoins in 3rd

Stein rejoins in 5th place

Antunis pits and manages to keep ahead of Paddock and even takes the position from Jantsher

Standings after all the scheduled stops have been completed

Antunis is protecting his place as best he can

Which gives Paddock a chance to get close to Jantsher

And Antunis some breathing room

Vukcevic has a comfortable gap back to Maverick

Paddock very close to Jantsher

This has sent the Austrian sideways was there contact? No clear replay to see

Paddock looking at Antunis now

Copeman going sideways as well

Antunis collides with Copeman, nothing broken on either car

This brings Copeman back into the scrap between Brazil, New Zealand and Austria

Ward joins in

And falls away almost immediately as the others make moves on each other

Stein is trying to make an impact on the gap to Razak

The tyre wall takes another driver. This time it is Hunsley

With that retirement half the field has retired

Maverick laps Yoshimoto

Antunis clips Copeman... Naughty

Both men survive though

Standings with 5 laps to go

Disaster for Copeman, he has lost the back end into turn one and is facing the wrong way, his chances of points ruined

Paddock wants more than just 7th

Yet Antunis seems to have found some cushion by the end of the same lap

Last lap for Vukcevic

It is between Ward and Jantsher for the final point’s position as they enter the final lap

Congratulations go to Mirko Vukcevic of Montenegro. A great faultless drive that sees him take victory at Oulton Park

Maverick comes home a safe second

Followed by De Boer

And Razak who had a very quiet race

Stein will be delighted with 5th

Ward just cannot get close to Jantsher. Is the marshal passing on Team Irelands tactics?

Antunis keeps hold of 6th from Paddock

And Jantsher manages to keep the final points place

The Final Standings

And Fastest Laps

That brings an end to our coverage here in Great Britain. Well done to Vukcevic who managed to take home the victory in a race that many will want to forget in a hurry. Zandvoort next for these drivers and teams where we may start to see our contenders pulling away from the rest of the field. Until next time goodnight
oh dammit...that was going well until the end...oh well. 10th after all that is still not too bad i spose

Didn't I say that I would leave the track again? ;-) I'm just glad that it didn't have any consequences this time. Again a podium, 2nd place...I'm very satisfied with that.

really nice to score some points without spending performance...
and good to know that i'm only 5 points behind the leader...

Belgium

It was a gift from heaven that Italy got together with the barrier, another case of damage limitation for us. Unfortunately we did the same thing. Luckily we didn't use any of our points.
How is it Ned has zero points? :/ Didn't we just finish 3rd! And I thought I scored a point in an earlier race as well

Table has been fixed sorry for that

Also the reason i ask for a quick turn around on points is i can squeeze a round in before i go away for three weeks. Is there anyone who could do a round if i give you the csm? Also if anyone wants to do some work on the mod then i can send you a copy. The only two glaring problems i had is that the tweaks i have done in the ini do not automatically load ( i have to use tweaker and clean exe every boot of csm) , Faces in Helmets is the other.
