Sorry for not reporting in for a while, but I did not have teh internetz since I moved in mid-january. Now I'm back again :D
Welcome back to the Nations Cup, we have crossed the Atlantic Ocean and are here in the United Kingdom for the British GP at Oulton Park. A home race for Oakley but all the support will not be for him since this is as close a home grand prix for the Irish.
So without further ado the Qualifying gets under way with Yoshimoto first on track.

Yoshimoto sets the first time. With the others coming in we will see how good a benchmark this is for the session.

Already Stein is fractionally better.

Which does not hold as Razak beats Stein

That time has been crushed by McGregor

Tafuro is faster in the 2nd split

But fails to maintain the pace falling into 2nd but a good start for the man only 2 points off the championship leader

Vukcevic comes very close to taking pole

New Zealand’s Paddock gets his weekend under way

Whereas Horvath is already out again looking to improve

Zakes has started his flying lap only to be met with traffic by Razak

Which has badly affected his time in the end

The fans have picked up a little Ward is out

He does not get as big a cheer as Oakley though who comes into shot

Horvath gets himself an extra place

Maverick is looking in good nick he puts himself in a provisional 4th

7th is a nice marker for Ward

Disappointing by Oakley though

Urazel gets himself onto the second row. Another man wanting to keep the momentum from Montreal

De Boer has popped up and taken provisional 3rd. Good lap by the Dutchman

After a very busy 10 minutes these are the provisional standings

McGregor is out looking to improve

Zakes will be hoping for a clean run this time

Maverick has come out in front of McGregor and that has cost the Australian his chance to improve his time

Ward does it as well to Hunsley

Championship leader Vanthoor is having a very quiet qualification so far only 16th

Well Zakes improves, not by much though

Maverick cannot quite find the pace

Horvath moves into 4th. I guess he is has plans that collide with qualifying

I was wrong about Maverick he takes provisional pole

De Boer will be looking to eek a little more time out of the car

Vukcevic is out as well but he is stuck behind Jantsher

McGregor is back out too this could be a dramatic few minutes

De Boer shows intent faster in the 1st

Meanwhile Heart has Tafuro for traffic and cannot find a way past

De Boer edges out a fraction more time in the 2nd

Maverick comes out in the meantime he realises his time is not safe

But De Boer cannot repeat in the final sector

McGregor faster in the 1st

And in the 2nd

Xanthis gets himself up into 7th but its McGregor we are interested in

He does it he retakes provisional pole

Maverick is stunned

Miserable day for Zakes so far

Urazel is out again.

Oakley and Ward occupy mid field

Urzael shows there is plenty of pace left in the circuit with that first sector

He has lost a little in the second but he might have enough in the bank

3rd he lost it in the final sector.

Zakes gets himself into midfield

Current Standings with 30 minutes left and already most people are on their final stints.

Last runs for McGregor and Maverick but Maverick is stuck behind traffic

I do not know if that is going to matter though McGregor has blitzed his first two sector times

Maverick must have been told he is trying to get through but no luck and it looks like he is not going to have a chance

McGregor is trying to rubber stamp his pole that is a great lap

Nothing going for the home fans, Oakley is way off. Enough for 12th though

Ward has got in the way of Urzael and this lap means null now. He has another stint left though

The lap may have been missed but here is Tafuro entering the pits after sneaking 2nd place

4 men left with laps left. Copeman, Heart, Vukcevic and Urazel. Three are out on track now

Honestly though it is hard to believe Copeman and Heart will affect the battle up front and neither does indeed improve with their last effort

Vukcevic has got himself ahead after the first

He loses it all in the second though

No improvement for him

Just Urazel to go but he is a little off in the first

And miles off in the second sector

He finds half a second in the final sector but it is not enough after a dismal second sector

With 20 minutes left of the session all laps have been done and qualification is over. The final standings

Congratulations to McGregor for a stunning time that no one could come close to. The rest of the field is separated by less than a second so we should be looking forward to a tense race tomorrow. Vanthoor will need to gain some places if he wants to be leading the championship after tomorrow with Tafuro 13 places ahead on the grid

3rd is okay, so far. Bad luck for me to have traffic in the last stint, but from 3rd everything is possible. The car seems to be good, so let's wait for the race.

Nice coverage, by the way. Very well done.

6th! Nice after a disappointing last time out! We could have done better, but happy to be in the top 8 here!

Great coverage! Screenshots looked good and very easy readable with the spaces! Well done there ;-)

Points spent by Italy for race = (Points spent by Italy for qualify * 8)^2 *4

do you want to talk now?;)

nah I spent the same amounts for both sessions.Championships are won only at the end,and we want to arrive there with enough points to lap you 2/3 times ;)

To all those bickering about points. ;) Apart from Oulton Park having this amazing feature called crash to desktop i would like to let you all know in the three failed attempts so far of running it that there is also a high retirement rate. No one has been safe from it ;) I have all of tomorrow free so i can actually just sit here plugging away at it till it works ;)
