Somebody has or knows as to correct the problem of the entrance of boxes (pit-lane) in the circuit of Hockeinheim (Germany) 2004/2005? When you go to enter or to leave boxes they appear gram over asphalt. In which archive that if arranges this? In the archive dat or gp4 (inside of the archive wad)? They can help me. Grateful

I have a problem, I created the GP4 file and stuff but in the headmenu when I click drive the game freezes up and doesn't respond no more. Any ideas? It was after I created the GP4 file from the 3DS file

I fixed my problem but now I have another one. When I drive out my pitgarage the game crashes to desktop but when i don't drive away it doesn't crash. I can stand in the garage with no problems but I can't drive away

there is a newer way to add your dat file to the gp4 file....do you have the dat file placed inside the maps/track name folder..if it's a fictional make sure the dat file has the default name as in s1cto2 etc.....open the gp4 file in 3deditor...create two new scenes.......delete the other scenes you made earlier with track/pitlane kerbs etc.....click on new scene....click add track from dat....then pitlane from dat.....then open the second new scene....
add kerbs from dat.....save & rezip wad

make sure that when the dat file is open.....create bin & col files & they are saved in the unzipped track wads maps/track name folder.... thanks james m

I did a combination of things...

a) Add track from .dat and deleted all TRACKxx objects because it was causing problems with the rails. I never found out why.
b) Add the TRACKxx from .3ds
c) Add pitlane from .dat
d) Add Kerbs in a new scene from .dat

As you know I'm working on Montreal 88-93 and when I use the add track from .dat function all the objects are assigned to montreal2001_page_000.tex. That means I have to re-assign materials of 100+ objects one by one.

Now, when I export the .dat to .3ds I open it in ZM and assign those objects to their materials in a few clicks. I export to .gp4 and import it into the track. To me this is the best way to convert your .dat to .gp4 objects. The only downside is that every object imported gets the suffix "new" attached to it. It doesn't affect the game but it looks ugly in the objects list ;)

A bit off-topic (in this moment), but are there any old tracks being made, like Detroit or the österreichring? I'm not really asking "can somebody do them?" (because I know I'll get a "start doing yourself" in reply :P ). Just for curiosity.

I don't know this track but GP4 tracks have limitations I detailed in the user guide and I assume this track should be too big for GP4 :)
