want you look at the shanghai sliced? it took a lot of time detaching manually all the sections in zmod but it worth the work.
i have a bad problem with the pits in shanghai that prevent me to rls the track, it runs fine in free practice and qualify but in race the pitcrew is located too near the box columns,so when a car enter to repair or refuel it fail to stop and never exit.
i have to add some parts to the track (the pitstands) but i doubt this problem IS a gfx problem.

Lo2k, i might have found a bug in 3DEditor 14.4

when i add multiple track sectors, the check box for "keep current track sectors" isn't working, i mean, the check appears, but the sectors aren't kept. i just tried 13.5b and it works, so i guess is a problem with the new version.

well, not a big deal, i can use 13.5b instead, but just something to take into account for a future release :)

it seem the .both file name issue when export objects is always here. btw importing big .gp4 objects cause crashes at 14.4, i've used the 13.5 for this purposes.

I can confirm that.
My 3DS track makes version 14.4 crash, when it works fine with 13.5b.

Maybe we put too much pressure on Laurent, making him release a version that wasn't properly tested.

I've just made a strange discovery:

I created a Dijon-Prenois track over Monza.
The dat itself is working fine.
I generated the col and bin files, so far so good.

Then I exported/imported the track tarmac in a new scene (scene 4) and deleted all the others.
When I launched GP4 I was expecting to see just the tarmac and nothing else.
Instead I found this:

On the right you can see the tarmac from my new track.
On the left you can see the original Monza pitlane and track even though all original scenes have been deleted (!).

Does anybody have any theories, any ideas ?

i think it has something to do with bin files, but i'm not sure, as i don't understand too much about bin files, it's still a bit confusing to me :s

You're right. Thanks :-)

I generated the bin file from monza.gp4+S1CT15.dat when I should have generated it from the S1CT15.dat file alone. Problem solved. Pffeww !

z elevations, trackbanks and trackwidth are done.

Now I have to connect start with finish, pitlane and CC line.

1 lap : 741 tracksectors of each +/- 5.1 meters (= 3779.1 meters) so i think i'm pretty close) ;)

WOW ! Looking great !

Don't forget to add some bumps to make it more challenging. Increasing one sector's height by 1000 or 2000 should do it (about 5 centimeters).

@All: I've just added a video preview of my Beta Dijon track in the 1979 Beta Mod thread.

Yep. Make sure that the Connect Pitlane Start flag is present and on the right sector.

tom, how do you add tarmac to the track as i've seen in your video? is there aan easy way to do it? i just want to try it in the new sectors of the hungaroring to, at least, see the cars going over something rather than just flying :P

nope haven't touched the pitlane yet. It happened after tiding up the track sectors and sorting out the cc direction :s

>>tom, how do you add tarmac

I don't really know how to add tarmac. I just know how to replace the whole track tarmac:

Open your dat.
Convert dat to 3DS.
Open ZM.
Import 3DS.
Save as Z3D.
Close ZM.
Open ZM.
Merge Z3D.
Only select track (DTrack).
Export to .gp4
Open 3DE.
Open Hungaroring.gp4
Create new scene with 3DE 14.4.
Close 3DE.
Open 3DE 13.5b
Open Hungaroring.gp4
Go to new scene.
Import DTrack.gp4
Apply tarmac texture, and VoilĂ .

Just like Maverick explained. ;-)

(3DE 14.4 has a bug related to .gp4 import)
