Exactly. It is a pretty standard way of doing things, and even more so at a street circuit where the chances of a Safety Car are significantly higher. There is no evidence (that we have) to suggest Alonso was part of this.

Concerning Massa, you can't really sue. Massas race was ruined by himself and the team with the screw up in the pit lane. He would have scored nothing anyway. The results are locked after November (iirc), so they can't change anything.

yeah. i'm sure i recall max saying november 30th was the cut off point. after that the results can't be altered.

i guess there's options open for lots of people to start lawsuits over this(lawyers will always find a way), i guess the question what good would come from prolonging this any more that is necessary? i think the answer is 'not a lot'. hopefully, the penalties are dished out on monday then we can get back to racing.

on that subject, what do people think the penalty is likely to be?

you'd think that an out and out confession would help their case, but i still can't see the WMSC letting them off too lightly,

i'm going for, exclusion from this years constructors championship, they can carry on racing but not score points(ala mclaren 07), and a fine that equates to all of the prize money they recived in 2008.

+ some sort race ban suspended for a year or 2?

I don't know if you have noticed this, but you are not in any way commenting on Massa's ability to sue. All your comments concern whether or not he can win such a lawsuit.

As for a result, it is true that the championship is sealed and cannot be altered. But in case of a successful lawsuit, he can win monies to compensate for damages.

It's only after we've lost everything, that we are free to do anything.

was his "duty" to save the team? ridiculous! is clear that this man has not impeccable conduct to talk about it. will "auction off" the heads of briatore and symonds in order to save fernando... yes, he knew everything and possibly not be punished.

@phantaman 'to save fernando... yes, he knew everything and possibly not be punished.'

Yeah I get you hate Fernando but you don't have to have every post repeating something you have no way of proving.

I think Renault are going to get a huge fine and a 5 season suspended ban, what a mess.

I would be appauled if the team got any sort of punishment... Not just at the FIA but more so to Flav, Symonds and Piquet!!!

Whereas with Mclaren there is no evidence in this case to suggest more people knew than originally thought.

Right now Flav will be remembered for the good days, and of course his flamboyance! Oh, and wearing a thong. But if Renault goes down and gets a ban he will be remembered for the complete tosser he is who cheated his way to more than the one race win and lost the jobs of 600.

There is no evidence. And if there is, why don't you show it?

Will you STFU about Alonso already. That's about 7 posts about him being guilty without actually saying anything useful.

the is no evidence pointing to Fernando whatsoever.

if you have some i'm sure the FIA would love to see it.

alonso not be punished is a political decision... piquet jr. reported this case to a FIA member at the end of last year and nothing was done.

You're hopeless...

PROVE that Alonso knew of it. Show evidence instead of repeating yourself all the time. Innocent until proven guilty is what most of the systems around the world are based on. You have not proven that Alonso knew, so he is unguilty. End of.

The evidence is where? Show it.

Do us all a favour and stop banging on about Alonso. If as you say the evidence is there, lay it on the table for us to see. We would like to analyze all the facts as well.
Until you can do that for us, give it a rest. In other words, with all due respect, put up or shut up. It's that simple.
It's patently obvious that you don't like the man, and why that is so is not really our business, however, until Alonso is actually proven to be complicit, you have no basis for argument. Unless......you have proof. :-)
