While I do agree with Williams stance I did love Ferrari's dig at them in their press statement

"a team that hasn't won anything for years"

Ha bitter.. some people still haven't got over 97 Jerez ;)

Hell yeah. This is already so reminiscent of Ferrari's old MS days, and their keenness as a team to get behind Michael and give him the best available now he's "back on board" is striking. What effect will this boost have on team's general performance over an F1 weekend?
Valencia is looking like a more exciting prospect all the time. :D

as has already been said, i think he will be fine with the 2 90-min sessions on friday and 1 hour on saturday morning. plus getting a go in the '07 car has sort of honed him back in to what an F1 car is like, so he shouldn't be rusty come qually and the race.

RIP Jules, never to be forgotten. #KeepFightingMichael

Plus, how good might he be in the 2009 cars with slick tyres and no TC? Both should play nicely into his hands, given his legendary driving skills. Once he's got fully up to speed, his ability to preserve cars/tyres should give him an advantage in managing the more difficult tyres during their graining phase etc. too.

Yeah... his epic Hungary 98 performance somewhat erases the one of a year before when the Ferrari was munching its tyres 3 times faster than anyone else. :D

hungary 98 was epic indeed, but i always thought he was quite hard on tyres

I just can't wait for his return, i reckon he will still show the young ones a few things despite being 40!

If it's true that ferrari agreed to let thingo test then it's probably a bit unfair williams is standing in their way - who was it that blocked williams? are they blocking ferrari this time too?

Apparently it's Williams, Red Bull and Toro Rosso doing the blocking. So if anybody might have bad taste it would be one of those 3.

Surprised at Toro Rosso. Wonder if they know they won't have Ferrari engines next year for some reason...

I have a feeling it's something to do with Red Bull going that route and them having to follow suit, sponsor's clauses or something.

Again I state that I don't mind them blocking it nor do I think it will make a difference. He's got the experience to overcome this obstacle.

Are they going to be even around next season? Has all that been sorted yet?

He could adapt his driving style to be very hard or very easy on tyres, depending on what the situation required. In '97, as Gav points out, he had a car which tended to chew its tyres to bits. Another similar drive to Hungary was at Barcelona, where his car wore its tyres even worse if anything.
Maybe the best illustration that year of his ability to look after tyres was when he was leading at Spa during the second half of the race, with the racing line being dry, and he kept driving on the wet parts of the track offline to make sure his slicks didn't overheat and blister.

another exapmle... jerez '97 .... stil cant believe how his yres failed him :(

leading for 47 laps and then all of a sudden a lead to villeneuve from about 5 sec. dropped down to 0.3 .. 0.4 seconds just in 3 laps ... obviously the ferrari was just not complete as a package !
Unlike 5 years later thow :P

I think they have to build their own car next season. Well they should!

Would not RBR just pump in the money anyway? They have been hiring people over the year to fill the jobs needed to design and build their own cars. I read a rumour a while back they have had a new windtunnel build too. I cant really see them being bought though. I thought RBR were just going to continue pumping money in?

yeah i remember these races. i dunno who said it but prior to the 2005 season someone said he might get problems because of not being able to change tyres during the race as his style was quite tyre consuming.

It was prety much whole team beeing in problems during 2005 season because of tyre rule.

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

Schumacher might not make a return due to his neck. Let's hope this is just precautionary thinking...

Thatkind comments were already given on same day when Ferrari told Schumi is going to replace Massa. There is nothing new in those "news".
