In the last 3 races, Hamilton got 14 points, Massa 13, Kimi 0, Kubica 9, Kovalainen 8, Heidfeld 15, Alonso 20 and Vettel 18. Anything can happen in the remaining 3 races as there are some drivers capable of finish a race in between the top ones.

I was a bit shocked when I read that Lewis felt DC should have helped him a bit, we have seen in the past drivers not make it to hard for people fighting in the world championship at this stage.

But DC was having a good race and had every right to be there. Tbh though DC probably also lost time keeping Lewis behind as he would not have been able to fully concenrate on the road ahead as he would have also been looking in his mirrors.

Fair enough.

I suppose some people thought Hakkinen was a bit of a mute too.

My view of Kimi changed entirely after Brundle's grid walk in Interlagos in '06 I think it was. He just couldn't give a @#$%& about the press, but you could see he was laughing like hell inside. :D

There was a certain irony, after Monaco '02.

Good point I forgot about Dc getting held up at Monaco for so long.

Got my years wrong DC won in Monaco 2002.

I just mean at this stage of the championship other drivers dont seem to put up much of a fight with people fighting for the championship.

Mika started talking more later in F1 and when he left. Kimi says what he needs to, and yes I loved that interview in Brazil that year it was a classic :)

Racing is racing. DC didn't have to help Lewis, and if he wants help, he might be in the wrong sport.

Bah. I remembered it as the bright orange Arrows of '02. Apparently it was '01.

Better tell that to some former world champs then :) (I am joking btw)

I will never forget Japan 1998 all the drivers letting MS pass until he got to Hill who made his life as hard as possible.

Schumacher built a whole career around it

Well, if I remember well,
last year in Brazil, when Lewis had those problems and found himself almost in last position, many drivers let him pass. He found a group of 4 or 5 cars in a row and he passed all of them in just a very few laps. And Kovalainen let him pass in quite a shame way, clearly opening the door.

Yep they did same for MS in his final race until he got to kimi who made it harder.

As I said many drivers dont make it hard for the person fighting for the championship.

I remember Alonso as well going mad in Canada and China as fissi did not help him.

Prost as well had help from Hill.

Mika from DC

MS from all his team mates.

I just think its different when racing drivers from other teams, I dont see why drivers expect help but they do get help sometimes.

The bashing is going on because he's the defending world champion. In 06 he wasn't none of that and the car sucked at every race on the calender. The F2008 is far better than that crap McLaren and he should be able to fight for his world championship. His no points draught has gone on for nearly 4 races and compared with how the car is doing in Felipe's hands, it should be doing the same in Kimi's too

In fairness to kimi he drove well in Spa and would have won had it not rained, in valencia his engine blew up. In Italy started going well at the end of the race but seeing massa started 6th and finished there kimi started down the field and got 9th I would say kimi done the better job.

The last race kimi was on for a good result until the safety car so its not been all his fault.

I hope kimi gets things sorted soon and comes back next year strong as I still feel he is one of the best drivers out there.

Ferrari at the moment will be doing all they can to help Massa just like mclaren are with Lewis. So I dont think its fair to compair kimi and kovy to their team mates at the moment.

It has been said by several people (Martin Brundle included) that when Kimi is away from the cameras and press he is a totally different character, very chatty and a good laugh.

I would dare say he is driving better than Massa in recent races. Certainly not in qualifying, but in races yes. I would also point out that what got his DNFs is probably his do or die attitude of late...both Spa and Singapore were races where he should´ve finished if not pushing so hard...Kimi should have 14 points more than he has now just because of those two races.

Raikkonen: "Not my year"

It's difficult to find the right words: racing at night or during the day, this is definitely not my year. I hit the wall when there were just a couple of laps left. True, I wasn't racing for the win, but for some very important points for the Team; and then it ended like at Spa, with another DNF. It seems as if the more we try to improve the situation the less we get in the end. At this point I can just hope for a weekend where everything goes in the right direction.

Once again we had the right speed at Singapore, but not when it was really necessary. The fastest race laps aren't worth anything, if you don't combine them with the situation when they really count.

Obviously I'm really sad about this situation. I can't explain this dark period and there's nothing I can do to change what happened. We have to look ahead, to the last three races.

Singapore is a wonderful place for a GP. The night race was organized very well. I was a bit surprised to hear all that chat about the time of day and the visibility: when the lights went on it was bright day at the track.

The car went really well on Friday morning, but in the afternoon we decided to change the set up and it didn't go in the right direction. In the third practice session we had a problem with the steering wheel and I lost a lot of precious time, because I couldn't try the harder tyres on the fast lap; obviously this was not the perfect way to prepare myself for the qualifying. At the start of the race I couldn't find my rhythm, because the tyre pressure was too low; I needed some laps to make them work properly. When they were alright I started to fly and I could easily catch up on Hamilton. When the safety car was deployed I understood that my chances were destroyed, because when your second at a double pit stop there's hardly anything you can do. I managed to gain position five and then, with a faster car, I was right behind Glock. I was waiting for the right moment to overtake him, but then I hit a very high kerb and the car literally lifted off and I couldn't keep it under control. I hit the wall and my race was over.

I'm very sorry for the Team, because they've done some great work to improve the F2008. It hurts loosing these points. But we know that we've got what it takes to fight for victory in the last three GPs. Let's hope that I'll finally have a smooth weekend, from Friday to Sunday evening.

Quali does not get you the point though and if true he was 2 laps heavier than Massa and Lewis, he would have jumped lewis at the pits and if we assume massa had that bad pit stop kimi would have led the race.

Fuel corrected kimi should have been 2nd on the grid so it was not a bad quali session from kimi.

yeah definately it was a lot better quali than we have seen from him recently , he is not far from finding the good setups for the car and that would be good end to the season for him if he finds those and can have clear weekend without errors and technical problems :)
