First thing's first. Unless events change significantly at Singapore regarding the McLaren appeal for Hamilton-Spa, continue the discussion in the following thread: [www.grandprixgames.org]

Map:

(Less) Detailed but more accurate map:

The Singapore Grand Prix will be the first fully lit night race in Formula 1's history. 'nuff said. :)

Circuit length: 3.148 miles
Laps: 61
Corners: 25
Direction: anticlockwise (despite what the first map says)

New GP winner Vettel probably fancies his chances this weekend, having gone well at the last new GP at Valencia. The Ferraris and McLarens will no doubt be fighting tooth and rusty nail over pole and victory with a battle in the courts afterwards (just joking, hopefully).

My estimate for the lap time is about 1m40s. It's gonna be a long race under the scheme of things, 1h45m-ish, haven't had a race that long since Hungary before the track changed!

Jethro, can I just ask which map is the correct one? ;)

Vijay Mallya has said that during this time of the year, it's almost certainly going to rain in the evening. I wonder how bad the reflection wil be.

1:40? I predict 1:36 ;P The track is damn boring though judging by its rFactor version...

I want rain, I want rain, just so the Ferraris will F.A.I.L ;)

GO LEWIS :D

Its going to be very stop start and drivers are saying its going to be hard heating the tyres up so ferrari could have some problems. I exepect BMW to be very strong here and mclaren its not really a track that suits either ferrari driver.

If it rains god knows what will happen I just hope they can run.

The one by f1-fansite.com seems more accurate, but the top one shows where it is in Singapore, even if the drawing is wildly off! ;)

Hamilton wont win this one. He's a black man driving a Mercedes at night, hes bound to get stopped by the authorities.

The problem of the wet weather is not the rain itself bringing trouble to the lights , in this concern it's okay these lights are capable and strong to give good visibility, the issue is that if this (wet situation) happens , the water due the lights will reflect in the asphalt creating troubles for the driver's view.

I wonder how good lights they have at the pitlane so that Hamilton doesn't repeat what happened at Montreal :)

hehe :)

but it will be very hot so their tyres will heat up much better than at Monza and Ferrari has done a lot of work last week to solve their problems and results were positive. But will they even race at all if it rains?:/

The only thing I think with the test session they had is they said it went better but how do they know, i mean they might think it went better but another car could still lap a second faster.

I think they will race, know one know what it will be like and I bet its not as bad as they make out with the lights on.

It will be no different to any other street track in the rain, they just need to get on with it tbh.

well they can feel that the car has far better grip than it did had before.the problem was that their brakes didn't get enough heat all the time and because of that they couldn't heat up their tyres either but now those problems should be behind. At singapore it will be very different anyway because it will be hot over +30 not unde +15 like they had at Monza , so there should be no problems.

hopefully they can race :)
