It would be a perfect idea - 1997 McLaren was ace ;)

Amen. Or use the 1996 Williams, better looking and Hill won. :)

What portion? I'm sure any instability is purely visual - if it was unstable it would have become clear quite quickly ;)

Why are McLaren still using 2008's rear wing? Considering the new regs, you'da thought they'd have a 2009 chassis on track, as it's all well and good developing new parts on an old car, but the data you get won't necessarily match up between the old and new cars.

Maybe the new wing isn't ready yet? There are only four teams that have tested 09 parts at all (BMW, Honda, McLaren, Williams). The rest doesn't even have any parts ready yet.

so far i like the cars using 2009 specs in this order:
williams, bmw, mclaren, honda.

dont see why so many in this forum are raving about mclaren shape, possibly cos its their favourite team.
Yeah that Mclaren looks good but it's nowhere near the 2009 regulations.Let's wait and see when they release the full car if it stills looks good.

It's my favourite team, yes. But I like the McLaren nose the most because it's got some curves, unlike the blocks that Honda and BMW have created.

Ferrari fan, but i like this mclaren' maybe it's the livery...

Man these cars are ugly...I thought the new rules would bring back gorgeous ones. Maybe when the cars are finalised they will look better, although the narrow wings just look like airbrakes to me and all the teams seem to be going for front noses you could launch a 747 off of. I'm obviously no aerodynamicist, I can't understand how all these winglets and stuff work, I thought there must be some point where a streamlined body is faster than a genuine Picasso on wheels. :(

And the same goes for Williams
but they will not release their livery until closer to Albert Park

Wow, love that Mclaren and Paffet Helmets switch perfectly with Mclaren's colors ;)
