So the 2009 line up: Bourdais is officially confirmed by STR

I remember Sir Stirling Moss once saying that the number on the car never mattered to him. He said he always prefered the number 7 to number 1. He said that number 1 was just easier to paint on the side of the car !! lol. Shows how times have changed heh?

That could explain why he failed to win the title numerous times ;)

^^
That or his insistance on driving for British teams...:)
Fia entry list will be updated soon, there was a mistake by the organization putting Kimi in #3

Confronted with the entry list, Luca Colajanni answered: "For us Felipe is 3 and Kimi is 4. Final point."

EDIT: well yeah Turun Sanomat confirmed FIA will fix the list.

If that is true... then Bruninho has indeed completed one of the most marvellous acts of selfpwnage. Even for him that would be a monumentally epic slice of fail.

Not really, as it was FIA who failed epically first if thats true.

The main brazilian newspaper is stating that hes #4. Formula1.com and AutoSport is saying hes #4. Only ferrari is saying hes #3.

I believe that Ferrari forgot all the media stir about their #1 and #2 status that could happen, when they gave #4 to him to FIA and now they are saying hes #3 to fix that. If thats true then thats Ferrari's fault not FIA or mine.

Anyway, no matter what number he is carrying, he'll never have a car with the number #1 painted on it. He'll never be a World Champion, end period. Even Kubica and Vettel have more chance of winning it than him.

but ferrari are the ones who choose the number, so your logic fails

I was never a Massa fan, but I really hope he wins now. :|

It would be your fault indeed if you got a immense selfpwn since you were saying in December that Massa wouldn't get number three. But poor you, you were all alone in that! Funnily, in December there was not even an entry list published. So yes, it would be your fault.

You're wrong. Deal with it.

Bruninho write only negative arguments, because his dreamboy Senna, which he love like a little girl, hasn't a cockpit in a top-team.
Although I don't agree with the way Bruninho puts things, I do think that all being in its place, Massa doesn't really have a chance of winning the championship. Last year was his best chance since all the top drivers were either on bad cars or having problems. Maybe something like this will happen again this year, but I doubt it.
He sounds upbeat and determined about '09, so I wouldn't write him off yet, but I agree that his best chance has gone. Let's not forget he didn't have a stunning year either, so he's got room for improvement. Add a bit more consistency from the start and he'll give himself a chance. If he's up there at mid-season it'll be hard to knock him off. A confident Massa is a mighty challenge, no matter who you are. It's when he's off-colour that he's really off-colour.
Best chance gone? How does anyone come to conclude that?

For all we know Ferrari can produce another F2002 and Kimi could have another bad year...

Chances come and go in F1... how often is tbh mainly upto the driver!

Can't conclude something in the future. If you hadn't guessed, it's a prediction. :P

Seriously, I think most feel that his best opportunity has passed. I'd guess that if we go back to this point in 2008, 95% would have bet that he wouldn't have been fighting for the title come the last race. After Sepang 100% would have laughed at someone suggesting it.

I don't have a crystal ball, but I feel, and I think most do, that he'll have to improve his game across a season to put himself into a similar situation. Last year he nearly threw his chance away before it had begun. I doubt his rivals will be as generous again.

If he starts the season as he finished the last, he'll be in a strong position. But lest we forget that we're still to see him string together a season of consistency (well, apart from 2002 and 2004 of course). ;)
It kinda depends on Kimi. Assuming that Ferrari have a good car, and taking it that Kimi is the better driver (When he wants to be) then if the car suits Kimi, and Kimi wants to race, then I reckon Massa will be no. 2. If not, Ferrari aren't going to bother with Kimi and they will focus on Massa for the championship. So Massa could well be back for 2009.
Felipe For World Championship this year! :)

Sorry if I feel like a fanboy amidst all this lol
Hope for Massa... Seriously, don't have hopes to see him a champion, or winning more races.

I just hope Felipe keeps his humility, looking ahead, that's all.

Sometimes you work so hard aiming an objective, sometimes this is so hard that you've to bear alot of things on your back and still keep moving, however, even with all the effort you could make... also sometimes...life may not pay you off in the end.

But if you also in the end have a true feeling that you did your best, has done the best you could, there's nothing to be ashamed of for failing, because... you're no less worthy than anyone who suceeded.

And for me, last year proved that he is as worthy as Hamilton or Kimi or Alonso.

Oh he failed?

Yes failed... but proving alot of people wrong about him.

He failed at winning the title, as did a few other drivers. He greatly succeeded at gaining our respect by maturing so much and possibly overachieving!
