A good session for DC and Button, at every session both drivers seemed to have got maximum from the car.

Either Hamilton pulled out one of the greatest laps ever, or he is quite light, the gap to Alonso is HUGE.

"Im sure that Hamilton was set light on fuel to get pole so no one can take him out in the first corner. Hopefully Felipe will tag him though "

This makes me want Lewis to win even more, if only to prove you wrong.

Massa seems a bit useless in the wet. Lewis could realistically get 3rd even if hes running too light.

hmmm

i agree hamiltons probably a little lighter than the ferraris, but judging from alonsos reaction after qualifing(ITV reackoned he kicked a door off it's hinges) i dont think theres much difference between the 2 mclarens. Lewis had been quick in the 1st 2 sectors most of the weekend, it was just the 3rd he needed to improve on.

Yes, Alonso has been reported to be really pissed. It seems the difference between fuel loads is not that big. It would be weird if Hamilton doesn't clinch the championship in Shanghai

I think it's inevitable Lewis will wrap it all up here.

But you've got to love Alonso's passion if he's going around kicking in doors and berating the team, the last race, everything. I think that's great!! (and I don't mean that sarcastically.)

I really hope the race stays dry, and Lewis runs into BIG trouble somehow.

Where did that lap come from? How the hell does he do this? It's like Senna all over again...

DC did really good, so did Button getting into Q3. Red Bull for a podium! Honda for more points.

Why did Vettel get penalised *again*? I know it's a 5 place grid drop for impeding somebody in qualifying, but which session and who?

From formula1.com
It will be as warm tomorrow, but the likelihood of thunderstorms through the day will rise to 90 percent and there will be high winds.

Sounds like Fuji mark II, hopefully not. Behind the safety is dull boring and if I get up at 6:45 to watch cars warm up there tyres behind a safety car driver who will be earing some $$$.

Hamilton needs to learn that Formula 1 is not that easy and simple. He should hit major trouble to know how difficult it really is. All the great drivers (even Schumacher) had hit trouble during their careers.

yes those first 19 laps behind the sc where dull, but the remainder 44 laps or so where more exiting then all other races this season in 1.

They were all the same for the 22 drivers so it wasn't trouble for him. He should crash, have a mechanical failure, a poor qualifying. He has to fight to win the championship. I hardly see any difference between Hamilton's season and Villeneuve's 1996 season. And we all know how Jacques turned out to be at the end.

Come on, I know it is kinda true that he hasnt been on very tough situations but thats not enough to take credit away from him. The guy is fast, really fast. Everyone was saying that he needed to prove his skills under rain and Fuji came, now he needs to crash or get mechanical failures.. its ridiculous.

Im not a Lewis supporter but he has been very consistent through the season and proved to be fast, isnt this what everyone else wanted? more competition? at least thats what I want. Its kinda embarrassing for Alonso and Raikkonen since a rookie is about to take the WDC, specially Raikkonen whose luck is not subject of envy LOL. Its a shame really that such a great driver hasnt won a single WDC yet.

How jacques turned out to be at the end?? jacques was genuinely good in his first years and later with BMW he was performing quite well, being trapped in awful cars in the in-between of that doesnt prove anything.

I dont know if any of you have the session recorded or have a rerun to watch but take close attention at the very end of Q3. I remember right at the end somewhere after lewis put in his lap there was a shot of Alonso thumping his steering wheel and jolting his head forward in the cockpit (quite possibly in anger). lol, it amused me for sure.

Well, I figured that was pretty impressive from Hamilton.

What stood out for me is how he found 6 tenths (?) between his first n 2nd flying laps... good job. I reckon he's just as heavy as Alonso.

Will be interesting to see how the race pans out. If it rains, I'm gonna have my eyes on DC ;-)

Yes I noticed there seemed to be a lot of energy coming from Alonso's cockpit on his slowing down lap. His head was moving around a lot in the cockpit as if he was shouting at the team down the radio.
