Actually, 2006 championship was officially decided in the last race (Brazil), on the other hand, after Japan, the chance of MS winning was already really small.

Ecclestone simply cannot direct a whole race. Anyone who actually believes he can is utter, utter stupid.

That's hardly always, isn't it?

I am not even bothering to reply to the last three.

it will be awesome if lewis lose his 10 points from japan then kimi wins in chine and massa will go second alonso third and lewis finishs in fourth, then we will have an unforgettable last race in brazil the standing will be like this before the last round:

1-kimi---->102 (5 wins)
2-lewis--->102 (3 wins)
3-alonso-->101 (4 wins)

then we may see the battle that eccleston talked about and two of those guys get each other out of the race in last lap.... and as the book says lewis will win..... romanitc scenario.

@ sasjaq: bernie wasn't around for 58 seasons. before that he was only a team owner and before that used cars salesman.

I was refering to the past 20 years and it's 12 out of 20 I forgot to include 2006

Lewis can get a penalty and the 2 options are a 25 second time penalty from the fuji end result or - 10 places on the grid like Vettel. He must get the first one cause he should have gotten a drive thru penalty :-)

The rules about a safety car procedure are clear. The first car after the safety car needs to let 5 car lengths space between his car and the safetycar. From the evidence they got now its clearly he didn't do that, i think he even passed the safety car. Webber slowed down to not pass lewis and that caused vettel to crash into him. So a penalty for Hamilton would be for sure in place.

does anybody here watches the live timing, and if so, please tell me wich one is more accurate, i assume the one from Formula1.com, but i also watch F1-live, for the commentary, but i see that times are quite different

i get this at Forumla 1
1 - Alonso 1.36.613
2 - Massa 1.36.630 +0.017
3 - Hamilton 1.36.876 +0.263

and in F1-live
1 - Alonso 1.36.642
2 - Massa 1.36.688 +0.046
3 - Hamilton 1.36.863 +0.221

as you can see, in F1 tells me massa is closer than in F1-Live, and in F1-live it tells me Hamilton is closer to Alonso...

from your personal experiences wich one is more accurate please?

He did more laps than the rest of the top 6 and was only 1 tenth ahead. He hardly constitutes domination...

A Typhoon is expected to hit the Shanghai region on Sunday. We may not have a race.

What if it hits Shanghai? Will the race be postponed to Monday? Or later on the Sunday, or even earlier?

There didn't seem to be any talk of postponing the Japanese race when they were worried about the weather. Would be a shame if the race got cancelled, although another wet race would be a blast

Fuji weather was bad, but it wasn't a typhoon.

2003 anybody?

I think that typhoon will pass around it. There's 2 in that region, both I think won't hit the circuit.

Laptimes seem to indicate that it was a bit damp, or was it bone-dry?
