A fantastic quote from British novelist W. Somerset Maugham:
"If you want to eat well in England, eat three breakfasts."
I wholeheartedly agree.

Off-Topic How is that any different from the mirrors as they are currently?
(BTW my SatNav has some special technology in the screen that makes it visible even in direct sunlight... I'm afraid I don't get much more technical than that!)

F1 EC83, those quotes are FANTASTIC. Reading them highlights exactly why I prefer Allen to Legard. They have character, originality and fun. Yes, some of them could easily be perceived as irritating. But that's a minor inconvenience when they're full of character, originality and fun.
Things that Jonathan Legard lacks:-
1) Character
2) Originality
3) Fun
4) Knowledge of Formula 1

F1 Get rid of the bloody things and replace them with a rear-facing camera that displays on the driver's steering wheel or cockpit sides. The technology is out there, why not use it?

F1 I would say that whenever you visit Britain, at ANY point, prepare for literally all types of weather. We might be safe on snow and ice, but nobody can guarantee anything beyond that.

This must be its third time of being resurrected in this forum - at least!

Off-Topic I don't have the red button. I'm stuck with Legard. A monotonous drone for most of the race, and then when drivers start crossing the line he starts shouting for no good reason. It's like he thinks, "This is the end of the race... I'm supposed to sound excited. I know, I'll raise my voice."
Dave, I'm surprised that you of all people are trying to push yo

F1 @ Dave, as I've said before... I'd rather have an over-enthusiastic moron commentating on my races than a dull and lifeless cliche-bank.
This thread, when started, was nothing to do with BBC's coverage, which I agree is absolutely excellent. However, in terms of the commentary team, I preferred Allen to Legard and that is said without rose-tinted glasses. Allen irritated me at t

F1 Wow, a repeat of Bahrain except with some fast guys starting at the back... fun racing until the first pit stops, then everyone holds station for 2/3 of the race. Zzzzzz... Thank God we had some drivers out of position to spice things up.

F1 Time for me to repeat my much-used requiem about circuits in remote locations...
I don't care WHERE a race is held, so long as you can TELL it's being held THERE. What we need are circuits with identity.
The Bahrain circuit layout could be anywhere in the World. The Singapore circuit layout could be in any number of cities. The Korean track, undoubtedly, could be anywhere in the W

F1 Well it's an interesting theory. Might have to monitor that as the season unfolds... the FIA seem to have deliberately chosen several races this season at times of the year when it is most likely to rain. China, for example, will most likely be wet again.

F1 I'm with Eddie Jordan on this one... what the hell were Ferrari and McLaren thinking, not putting in a banker lap at THE most unpredictable race on the calendar? That was utterly senseless and I've got ni sympathy for them.
Once again, Michael Schumacher looked a half-step behind everyone else. Went out on the wrong tyres twice, got himself stuck behind a Renault when he could have o

Unless you hadn't noticed, you're still here. We aren't going to ban you. You haven't done anything illegal - just annoying. I know the distinction is somewhat blurred in your mind (hence the issue we started with) but just try and get your vacant head around it.

Off-Topic That is exactly what I am saying. It's like Wikipedia - anyone is entitled to edit an article that you have written, because there's no law against it. Same thing applies here. Anybody is legitimately allowed to use it for any purpose, and may omit credit to the original author without r

F1 Superb race management by Button. Made the rest of the field look like amateurs today!
However, it has to be said that Alonso and Vettel were still WAY quicker than anyone else today. Alonso was dead last, facing the wrong direction at the end of the first corner, and yet he still got himself into a position where he could easily have been 2nd! Vettel could have romped it if he'd kept goi
