While I appreciate the need to move forward (as others have mentioned I too am exasperated by the faulty search and embedding, the mailbox size and the dodgy scaling etc) but I have to say I'm becoming pretty horrified the more I read on the Discourse site. It comes across as an application more suited to one-liners, emojis, ham-fisted social engineering and cat pics than anything remotely iby Noog - Grand Prix 4
I could be wrong, but as far as I know there isn't a way to just unpack the cuh/cmu using a 'standard' compression program; you have to let CSM do it. So what I do is install the mod using CSM and run it once (making sure to disable Auto-Restore), then I copy the whole GP4 folder into a zip, EXCEPT the GPSaves/Carsets folder, which I copy into another zip. The GP4 folder containby Noog - Grand Prix 4

You aren't getting any answers because you are asking many questions at the same time and answering all of them would be several hours work - and it would lead to more questions; leading to more work. GP4 is a complex game with a huge learning curve! That's all fine, but you'd get more responses if you tackled things by asking questions one at a time. But with that said, hereby Noog - Grand Prix 4
The three main music samples live in your /GP4/Sounds folder. They are called tk1.st1, tk2.sk1 and tk3.st1. To edit them, you need GP4 Sound.exe and some new music in .wav format. Convert one of the existing .st1 files back to a .wav first to see exactly which format you need your new .wavs to be in (because not all possible .wav options are supported).by Noog - Grand Prix 4
My pleasure. Your help was very valuable back in February when I had problems with my conversion project, so it was great to be able to give a little something back. PS: I forgot to mention, your mod looks excellent. Looking forward to it.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
I suspect it only updates the gpxset.ini once each PF is used - because that's what multi does to the names too, ie the 'new' names aren't shown in the game driver selection screen until the PF has been used, then they do show after that (and next time). Maybe try again and just briefly load track 2 and track 3, then check gpxset.ini. I think you'll find it will populaby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Click the multi button and select the required PF for each track (You can leave the PF you probably already have in the previous Performance File field. It'll be ignored) The selections you make will be reflected in gpxdata/gpxset.ini in the section Alternatively, you can reverse this, ie you can put your requirements directly into gpxset.ini and the multi button field will populatby Noog - Grand Prix 4

It should be possible, but I doubt anything exists. That said, here's what I do in my WinXP virtual machine to tackle the problem of viewing lots of texs easily. 1. Install TGA thumbnailer: Now when you convert TEXs to TGAs with Slimtex or whatever you'll be able to preview them in Windoze Explorer (just like you can by default with a bmp or a jpg etc). This is useful in its oby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Hi Davegp. We've never spoken but I've always wanted to thank you directly for your earlier works. You really pushed the boundaries and inspired me to dig a little deeper into the game for myself when I rediscovered GP4 a few years ago and saw what you were able to do with it. Free energy was an interest of mine in the past too. Some of the more obscure rabbit holes can change yoby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Seriously dude, I'd get used to 2hr practice sessions if I were you. Sometimes it's just not worth the headache. Sorry I wasn't able to help, but I think we had a decent crack at it!by Noog - Grand Prix 4
GPxPatch options are saved in the gpxpdata folder, but only gpxset.ini would be relevant I think, in the section. You should have a line like FreePracticeCars=22by Noog - Grand Prix 4
Sometimes it's best to give up! I think if I were in your shoes I'd rebuild the mod and set it up with the 2hr practice session max that the game 'expects'. Then, maybe make a copy and try the 8hr setting again with that. At the very least you'd be able to see which file changes when you adjust the practice length.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
Then I'm out of ideas my friend. It seems like it SHOULD be tweak that's causing the problem, but if it's still doing it when gp4tweaker.ini isn't even being called, I've no idea what to try next really. It's a total shot in the dark, but what happens if you tell tweak to use the default settings for option 17? Or alternatively, what happens if you disable gp4by Noog - Grand Prix 4
PS: If you close GP4Tweak first and then run GPxPatch I don't think you'll get that 'not recognised' error.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
Jan88666 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > When I rewrite the gp4tweakbin it creates a new > "empty" gp4tweakbin. Yes. gp4tweak.dll will probably recreate itself if you rename it too. Renaming gp4tweak.ini won't do that - but it should stop most of the tweak functions being enabled - which is why is suggested renaming it, because I doby Noog - Grand Prix 4
Hmm. Not sure in that case. If you have GP4Tweak installed you should have numcars.ini in the gp4tweak_data folder, which you might want to take a look at, but I'm pretty sure that only ever affects cars on race days and has no impact on practice or qualifying sessions. So, the only other thing I can think of is the GPxSet > Sessions settings in GPxPatch, but I'm sure you willby Noog - Grand Prix 4
What happens if you rename the f1gstate.sav and f1gstate.bak files to something else (or even delete them) and run the game with GPxPatch again? (The game should create a new f1gstate.sav for you) I'm just guessing that the corrupted values are being stored in f1gstate, but I could be wrong.by Noog - Grand Prix 4
More than welcome guys. Just a quick heads up to both of you: I don't use CSM (other than when I'm installing a brand new mod for the first time), because I'm primarily Linux user and CSM doesn't work well under WINE. Point is though, once I have the mod up and running how I like it I save the entire game folder as a zip file and I renew the zip each time I play a seasoby Noog - Grand Prix 4
When you say you cleaned the registry, did you clean BOTH entries? In WinXP you have: HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Lo2k's Tools and HKEY_USERS > S-15-21 -blah blah > Lo2k's Tools Deleting both folders usually fixes the error you're getting, whenever I get it, which is usually when I have deleted the game folder it thinks it needs. Carl_gpgames Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > Some mods need to be reinstalled with the latest > version of csm, no idea why. Perhaps.
