hm, i even overlooked that, thought i had the problem, offcourse the copying all the flags over the track thing is pretty anoying as you sometimes forget (even me :+ )by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
pitlane sector 94 change the "new gp4 cmd" flag to the "pits end" flag (it changed after the tutorial was made, i do mention it, but i guess you overlooked it )by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
i usually use the gp4 and col from tjhe track with overlapping sectors. then i delete the last one and generate the bin and save the dat. This gave me perfect results time after timeby <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
hm, thats really basic stuff actually, just use the circuit folder.by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
well, better you than us :+by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
if you generate a new gp4 after editing the banks the textures should move with them, dont forget to delete the old ones out of the gp4.by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
the fences and verges cover the entire track, so they are quite big. I've never had any real problems with them ingame actually, new objects were always a bust to get them showing ingame, but the generated ones always show up quite nice. But i've never had many new objects between my own verges and fences. Have you ever had any problem with bahrain objects in terms of visibility erwinby <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
the strange thing is paco, i have no pitlane bin problem at all with your track :?by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
at your serviceby <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
dont forget you shoudl initially edit the Zvalue, not Zvalue 2by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
euhm, i deleted the scene with the tracksurface in it, and made a new one in wich i imported the gp4.by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
euhm yes, the one with the gap should be used to generate the bin, sorry for the mixup. And i used the one with the gap to drive too, maybe youc an use the one without the gap, but with it works just fine. I used pitlane bin too. Jup, turn 13by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
well, i did: open the track, generate bin, generate gp4(dat->3ds->gp4), generate col, delete the last sector, generate bins. put it all in the wad, and put the generated gp4 in the hungaroring.gp4. everything worked perfect, no disapearing track, no crashes. you do have a little bump in the lefthander before S/Fby <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
i can see you have trouble with ccline, it's a bit difficult, but why cant you edit the height? if you just edit the zvalues there's nothing you can do wrong.by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
have you got my email adres? you can send me your dat if you want.by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
well the overlapping itself is not a problem, but the bin generating doesn't work propperly when overlapping, thats not a gp4 problem, but a 3deditor problem.by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
both. But what did you do? just edit a middle section of a track and generate a bin? then you shouldn't forget that you need the new tarmac (make it with export to 3ds) cause otherwise your bin will cause display problems and crashes.by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
you problably have the last sector overlapping the first one by just a tiny bit? delete the last sector leaving a small gap between the first and last one, now generate a nwe bin (and save yor dat) the track now should show up 100%by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
you'll need to generate the bins to get the tarmac displayed ingame.by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
change the Z valie at the sectors positionby <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
if you open the gp4 both should open, you can see that because both the graphical and physical tab are there.by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4

it's used to cover up the banks in the pitlane. so you could calculate them by taking the left/right (depending on wich side the cars stop) bank descriptionby <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
well i could lo2k, but for now i'll just take a lower banking, this high one was a stupid idea, the player car just shoove of the hill on the grid :+ Just one question, 3deditor still doesn't generate pitlaneverges bins, why is that? due to a technical limitation? cause they should be the same as all the other bins right?by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
Lo2k Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > @Maverick: Yep, I also suspected GP4 to slow down > cars due too to high banking, it should be the > matter... Hm, but on default indy the cars down slow down on the banking, allthough it's only a degree les steep.by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
Mini Maestro Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > crosses fingers and hopes it works > > eDIT:/// nope Mini, you should look for the omega drivers, those let you install catalysts on you laptop.by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
i got it, thnx for that @lo2k: i've just redone the track with a less steep banking, seemed to take the problem away, the question is, is this slow speed due to a flaw in gp4 design, or is it becasue of a miscalculation at your end?by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
i'll send it, i never use performance filesby <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
@lo2k: jupby <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
hm lo2k: i've made a nice oval, but thr problem is, all the cars just drive around on about 60km/h not faster, this is with and without ccline, any idea what could cause this?by <Maverick> - Grand Prix 4
