We really shouldn't expect much from this game, I have made my peace with that.

Best-case scenario: We get a brilliant game that we will play for a decade(almost), like GP4.
Worst-case scenario: We get a weak but expected game, but we still have GP4.

So we can't really lose. The only problem with the worst-case is that GP4 is gonna start showing its age soon.

We also have rFactor 2 being released (hopefully) this year.

In career mode Fisichella finished 3rd in Belgium & Italy in the same season after starting in midfield! However I did bunch the field up and he was in top 10 for quali in Italy as both Brawns & a Red Bull didnt get into Q3.

Are those screens for real? I hate that blur effect on any racing simulation. I have completely lost faith in this game, they fired the original producer and I don't really think you can make a sim out of the dirt engine, not that codemasters plans to do it anyway. I really don't understand their obsession with making the game appeal more to the north american market when they won't care about the game be it arcade or not.

They also make Race Driver games, it will be something like that, not a proper sim that is 100% sure.

for arcade those screens are awesome!

anybody who expects a sim (as mentioned 10000000000 times) is kidding themselves.

yes, it is a shame though, it is about time we got a proper F1 Sim

Sorry guys but what exactly are we discussing here?

We're basically criticizing a Wii game and some marketing renders... The game they're doing isn't related in any way to what have been talked here.

I prefer to wait and see. I don't have any great expectations regarding this game but it is not because of the Wii game or those renders. The Wii game is what it is.. .a Wii game.. and those shots are what they are.. shots for the press..
Until they release any feature list or some mild information about the game there isn't anything we can discuss about it.

We just don't want to get our hopes up, buddy.

We take it from who it's coming from. If Geoff Crammond was involved most of us would be excited about it, but it's codemasters. We know their history.

Also, the game will be made by mostly the same people with the same type of physics.

Exactly. I don't get any hopes based on their recent titles... not because of those shots or the deliberate arcade game they did for Wii...

The 2009 Version for Wii and PSP isn't from Codemasters! It's from another firm but unter the Codemasters name!
Formula 2010 for PC and NextGen is from Codemasters! Don't cry and wait for the real version from Codemasters.

Any news on this front? I wouldn't be surprised if some platform versions for this gets cancelled, e.g. PC version...

no. it's top secret. codemasters want to make the game and when it's ready they give us some news. by the way, the real season didn't starts and the release is in middle of 2010.

Some rumors from some french serious game site are telling that Codemaster could reveal some info about F1 2010 the 17 march 2010.

yea, it's not rumors. It's real. First details will be out in the Official XBOX and PS magazine mid march. Around 11th onwards.
