Pffft, suit yourself mate, I think it looks awesome.

How's this for a seven year career?

HRT beginning
Force India for two years picking up good points
Renault one year couple of wins
Ferrari two years winning champs
Williams for a "come down" year

of course we don't know how different the teams will be in terms of performance.

Even if it isn't perfect, they should have a great foundation to turn it into an excellent F1 gaming franchise.

+1

I heard drivers won't be able to change teams due to licensing restrictions, but hopefully modders will be able to overturn that.

Well it isn't modding friendly for sure, doesn't mean it's impossible :P. Didn't people manage to actually mod Grid or Dirt?

I remember when GP4 came out, that was strictly "not moddable" too. And look where that went.

Like Sam Neil said, life will find a way!

How many years did it take to get it to a 'kinda moddable' state?

If Codemasters does the usual and produces a game every year then they won't have time to get modding to a proper stage before the next one comes along.

That's right but I think people will have a head start since they managed to get into DiRT, so at least there is some hope for the PC version!

Yah that's true, but if they just stuck to modding the first one and ignored to second one when it comes out they might make more progress..

"Brazilian gaming site Startselect has published a rather interesting interview with Codemasters’ Stephen Hood as the Chief Game Designer talks about the studio’s upcoming F1 2010 title for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Aside from much already known stuff, the interview also includes some interesting stuff on the studio’s aim to find a balance between accessibility and simulation:"

“When I say we’re chasing a heavy bias towards realism I’m trying to explain where we sit in terms of authenticity and handling challenge. Whilst I’m acutely aware a broad audience is our aim, we’re still intent on providing the more committed racing gamer with a handling model they’ll have to master in order to get the most from. I don’t want crazy lap times or strange handling behaviours that force you to become accustomed to the way in which the game wants you to drive.”

Furthermore, Hood reveals that the title’s weather system has already been improved beyond of what has been shown off in the previews so far.

“The intial version that everyone has seen and complimented has recently undergone further improvements so that it now works accurately across an entire race weekend with location authentic weather patterns. Where Spa is very unpredictable, you can rest assured somewhere like Bahrain will remain sunny for the entire weekend. When it starts to rain it won’t immediately turn the track wet, water builds up across the track surface over time.”

The first quote doesn't really make sense. It just contradicts itself.

American style arcade game with great graphics, I suggest not to expect anything else.

How many years more will pass until something beats GP3/GP4 ? I am not saying they are simulators, but are the best to my view.

Thanks GP3Hotlaps

GP3/GP4 both suck a lot if it wasn't for the modding community.

The fact this game, on video alone, looks astonishing says enough.

With add-on, over time, all sorts can happen.

Jenson drives it like he owns it; Lewis drives it like he stole it

Not true for me, I still play the original GP 4 a lot, as it's more 'consistent' than any modded version. And being the game I play the most, that says alot.

I see they suspect - not confirmed yet - that if you are able to play Dirt 2 on your comp, your specs should be enough to play F1 2010 too.

So, does anyone have specs similar to mine who can actually play Dirt 2?

Specs:
Pentium Dual Core 2.66GHz
Nvidia GeForce 9600GT 1GB DDR3
2GB DDR2-800 RAM

Just buy a 360 and wireless racing wheel. Problem solved and cheaper than buying a new pc to run it!

Well it looks good and they are still saying the right things...

But I am still extremely sceptical of the car handling. I jsut don't trust coddies, no matter what they say. All of the videos so far have looked less than convincing. And if the cars handle badly then it's going to ruin all of the other top notch stuff they seem to be doing.

Codies have released screens of their 2010 cars at E3.

There is also an onboard shot of the McLaren at racesimcentral along with some others.

The game is still defiantly very impressive graphics wise

I hope they recreate the real cameras on the cars

It looks good on the Mclaren in that screen, but there were some poor ones on the 09 cars they showed
