hey guys. i've been after the Father Ted complete 3 series box set for a few years now, it's £40 on Play.com and £50 on HMV, and on ebay it's at least £32, too high a price for me to spend on dvds.

but HMV are having a sale currently and it's down to £24.99 delivered! they have sales quite often but they never reduce FT, but they have done this time!

it's here: [www.hmv.co.uk]

others you might be interested in:

Out of that whole list I'd only pick Rambo, and that's saying something ;) (everyone picks the Godfather, of course)

Booyaka-sha! it arrived today. unfortunately it's now gone back up to £50, so luckily for me i bought it at the right time!

nicely packaged in a box, and shrinkwrapped to one of the boxpanels to stop it moving around while travelling: Click, Click2

fully opened up:

with leaflets for each disc: Click

reverse of leaflets: Click

if some of you non-Brits have never heard of it or seen it before, you should try and find the dvds or the show in the 'net somewhere, it's a classic comedy series.

Have the Fr Ted boxset posted above, despite having watched each episode, at a guess, 5.3 million times, it still doesn't get old. :)

Haven't seen Reservoir Dogs in ages, might be getting that on DVD myself. Last DVDs I bought were:

Children of Men (fantastic film, startlingly better than anticipated)

and (this being where I lose any respect I may have once held :S ):

Brideshead Revisited (the TV series, not the film; it IS good ;) )

Sorry to dig an old thread BUT

Relevant to the title, I have just tonight watched 'District 9'.

Didn't have many hopes, looked like a pretty bog standard sci-fi film.

Wow, quite a shock!

I highly recommend watching this, it is a very cleverly made film touching all sorts of agendas - bordering a sort of racial bullying social documentary mixed with blade runner and a touch of heartwarming you get from ET and Forrest Gump. Weird.

Recommend Highly! *Don't read the plot spoilers, it'll wreck it!*

I've heard good things about it too, must look out for it. I expect I'll be dragged along to see New Moon by my daughter when I go down to visit. I hope it's a lot better than the first one.

@ Dan and Mortal:

District 9 indeed is a sleeper hit! I went to see it unassumingly the weekend it came out and it's soooo good! It's like a social commentary documentary. Ingenious and very well made. You can find the original short movie that inspired it too, on youtube.

Also, Up! is coming out and as much as the movie rocked I really dislike Disney's way of handling their DVDs, calling it a 2-disc special when 1 disc is the movie and the other disc is the digital copy! Then they have the unnecessary 4-disc version on Blu-Ray. Meh.

It's been ages since I bought any movies. Last one I got on DVD, soon after it came out, was this:

Here's one of my favourites I currently have on DVD:

But I tend to get DVDs of classics rather than recent movies.

Got to add to the love for In Bruges, absolutely brilliant film. Trailers made it look like an action thriller but it's an utterly hillarious comedy.

Ray: Ken, I grew up in Dublin. I love Dublin. If I grew up on a farm, and was retarded, Bruges might impress me but I didn't, so it doesn't.
