Harrison Ford movies are always pretty decent I find. I've always liked anything I've seen him in.

I saw Hot Fuzz last night.it was ok, funny in some parts, but nowhere near as funny as everyone is making it out to be. some people have said it's the best comedy EVER, or the best one in the last 10 years. no way Jose...

they tried to make it funny and hip with the kids by having Nick Frost say f*** or motherf***** every 5 minutes, which is not actually funny.

good bunch of famous people in it though, Timothy Dalton, Edward Woodward, Steve Coogan, and Nick Angel's girlfriend, the SOCO (scene-of-crime-officer in the full white body suit and face mask) was Cate Blanchett.

saw The Departed at the weekend on dvd, I thought it was rubbish. it was boring, dragged on, and the accents they all tried to do really put me off. Scorsese's best film since Goodfellas? my arse...

"My arse..."? Can't say I've heard about it. Any good? ;)

Hot Fuzz was funny. It wasn't as good as Shaun of the dead though. He drop kicks a pentioner! It came out of nowhere, soo funny :D

Departed I thought was really good. Di Caprio was excellent in it, he's had a lot of great performances recently!

People, never EVER see The Good Shepherd. Its the most boring time you'll ever have at a cinema...160 minutes of talking. The film is poorly paced, and poorly acted. You'll spend your time marvelling at how much bigger Angelina Jolie's lips seem in this film.

never seen Layer Cake, will try to get it.

Shawshank - most overrated film EVER, IMO.

(Play has the 1-disc for £2.99, or the 10th Anniversary 3-disc edition for £14.99)

about The Departed, so what if it won 4 Oscars? i'm only giving my opinion on what i thought of it.

they only gave Scorsese the Oscar cos he never won one before, it was "his time".

it's all political, not publically voted, so i don't look at awards like that as a mark of quality.

My top three recommendations would have to be:

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Vanishing Point
Run Lola Run

Saw Run Lola Run again recently, it is simply amazing!

Oh and have to include The Holy Grail here, cause we spent a good 20 mins today in school reciting lines from it and basically laughing ourselves silly!

Layer cake rocks!! see if you can spot the part that sparked the bond film makers into considering Daniel Craig as a possible Bond ;)

The bit where he says, "The name's Bond. James Bond"? ;)

Nice!

Just been thinking tday more about Brazil. Its awesome, a very British take on the dystopian world genre, something like 1984 mixed with monty python, but darker than python. Its a strange kind oof humour - taking parts of these films that are so key, like the concept of paperwork to contsantly alter the past in 1984 becomes the need to file the correct form. I suppose its more of a direct metaphor for order and compliance, probsbly.

So British though! Loved the De Niro cameos too, and what a unbelieveably perfect ending! Couldn't have been any other way I suppsoe.

Trying to think of films like it, but I'm struggling. 1984 obviously, suggesting equilibrium (because of the topic) would be a bit generous I think!

OMG, my dreams have come true! a Thundercats movie is going to be made, i really hope it's live-action in the style of X-Men, using prosthetics and costumes.

searching the 'net for info, i found this site, which says a movie was made and was due for release in 2000. i don't know if it's true or a big hoax, but supposedly starred Mathew McConnaughey as Liono, Ed Harris as Mumm-Ra, Tea Leoni as Cheetara, Wesley Snipes as Panthro, and David Carradine as Tigra.

apparently it had some explicit sex scenes in it, which had to be cut out for it to get a 17 rating in the US. probably a hoax then...
