Currently my favourite movie is The Big Lebowski. Can't say how often I have already seen it and now that I have it on DVD I can't stop watching it at all. I simply love all films of the Coen brothers.

has anyone seen The Kentucky Fried Movie, or Bubba Ho Tep?

the first is meant to be funnier than Airplane, and the 2nd is about Elvis living in an old peoples home or something. I haven't seen either.

Kentucky Fried Movie is on my list as well. Very funny movie. Don't miss the sort-of-sequel "Amazon Women on the Moon".

:) nice collection vader. if you're looking for some more new stuff and like japanese cinema/movies, i'd recommend anything from Takashi Miike i've seen so far. especially "Audition" stands out imho, but his work in general is pretty "fresh"/unusual in a good way, compared to most of the stuff from hollywood and europe. [de.wikipedia.org]

last movie i've watched was hellraiser-deader iirc. nice one, especially considering the budget they had and what they got out of it.

oh and i watched a lot of anime on youtube lately and like the naruto series a lot...dattebayo :) ...made me buy some of the manga, when i looked for something to read before i hopped on the train.

have you seen Executive Decision? it's got Steven Seagal and Kurt Russell as some elite soldiers who get aboard a plane taken over by terrorists. it's not a Hollywood blockbuster or anything, but i watched it once on tv and thought it was great, really entertaining. it's from about 10 years ago.

Steven Seagal? *shudder*

Just wwatched the young frankenstein (mel brooks movie) - was ok.

Next up is Brazil, which is meant to be fantastic, then Days Of THunder, which I'm ashamed to admit I've never seen!

yeah that's the natural reaction to a Seagal movie, but it's actually surprisingly entertaining, as Kurt takes half of the screentime, so Seagal is in it less than if he was the only big name in the film.

Brazil is meant to be the best movie ever, but i've never heard of it apart from a movie reviewer saying it was the best film ever.

You'll either adore (as I do) or reject it (as the uneducated classes do).

My Mum has that at home. She loves it. Must get around to watching it myself sometime.

Well, just watched it.

I actually really enjoyed it. Need to order my thoughts on it a little before I'm completely sure what I think of it, its quite a lot to take in.

Thought it was very well paced, and well acted - but those are obviously those factors are fairly small fry compaed to the broader scope of the film! I'll post again later about it I think.

What makes me prefer Brazil to 1984 or other dystopian movie/film adoptions is the bitter sweet and black humour that makes the situation of the characters appear to be even more absurd. For me Brazil is certainly in the Top 10 of my favourite movies ever.

I watched The Fugitive the whole way through for the first time the other day, it was quite good. Frantic and Patriot Games/In The Line Of Fire are also good Harrison Ford movies.
