tbh the MP4-21 in the pic i took looks NOTHING like it does "live"!

but it isn't a mirror finish at all, just silver. trust me it looks ALOT better live. in the pic it looks really metallic!

i saw that macca in the model shop today, and i don't like it
doesnt look like the mclaren when i saw it in april as its not chrome its just more of a shiny silver

yeh indeed, it looks more like shiny silver then chrome, minichamps realy wants to make it chrome so i expect it like that.

i really wouldn't have thought minichamps will do it a proper chrome. i'm expecting their version to simply be a better shade of silver.

hmm may have to reserve my judgement until i see the minichamps one then, although they always did the Montoya helmet in chrome in the 1:18 & 1:43 scale

plus Chrome isnt Chrome nowadays ;-) it has the same effect however except it works on plastics in todays modern world

yep i was just gonna say that JPM's Williams helmet on the minichamps FW25 i used to have was really nicely chrome, but LS beat me to it.

i also have the Trulli podium model:

and the R24:

i know it's just some sort of tin-foil on the helmets, but the actual car body will be painted or plated chrome in some way, Minichamps don't take short cuts and cheat the fans.

does anyone know of a decent site where you have a good selection of 1:18 minichamps f1 cars for under the usual £40? the official minichamps site has a few jordans, toyotas and minardi for £25 which i will probably pick up, i was just wonderoing if there's any similar sites with more selection.

cheers,

he's right though.

before i started using ebay, i only used Torontomotorsports.com or www.gpmini.qc.ca (undergoing maintenance at the moment), but ebay opens up a whole new world for the collector (of any particular item). and you can get some mega bargains if you're lucky and no one else is bidding on a model.

yup i bought most of my 1/18's from ebay and most i payed about 20-25 for.
the only problem with 1/18s is having enough display space, im thinking about starting to collect 1/43's as well

lol yep i agree now always go for minichamps unless now other option! but i stand by my decision to get the hot wheels mclaren, it looks highly sexual on my shelf!

here's the link to the 1/2 senna helmet on ebay, i believe the guy selling them has 4 left. £35, 5 quid p&p, pretty good deal if you ask me.
